DVD's were free... Breakfast OK
Pool was half full and filter was broken. Massive resort. Not very pretty.
Unfortunately, we were not part of the doctor's conference that consumed the entire hotel staff's attention. Room service took forever. The pool was in poor shape due to maintenance issues. Internet is not free. Bungalow wa private but not at all impressive. No value here at all...

Stayed in a superior cottage which was very spacious & well decorated. Very quiet. Large clean pool.
Distance from town requires added expense of taxis, tuk-tuk or hotel shuttle. Breakfast is simple and basic.
Website is deceiving. Expected it to be close to townsite but it a few kilometers from city centre.

Clean modern rooms, good breakfast, in season buffet, otherwise menu. Nice medium sized family swimming pool, clean and gym. Free wifi.Friendly staff.
Airport service is 200 THB per person.
We liked our stay at the Phowadol. It was our second time. It is a very good choice, a little bit out of Chiang Rai, but the Resort provides transport for 80 THB to town all day.It is a calm cosy clean place, conveniently located close to airport and close to attractions like Mekong River and Golden Triangle trips. If you plan to explore the region consider renting a car at the airport as hotel excursions do not come cheap.
Travel tip : Couple of good Italian restaurants in Town near bus station. Check Il Pirata
