Great hotel in superb location”

We stayed at the Revay for 4 nights. The hotel must be one of the best locations in Budapest . Near to the centre of the city and close to many attractions and the river. Very quiet hotel . The breakfast was lovely an the staff always polite and willing to help and were very friendly.

great stay after questionable start”

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location, good facilities, very nice breakfast. Excellent value. The only slight issue we had involved our triple room for 3 adults. The air conditioning was not working in the room and it was very hot outside. At first, the staff was insistent that the a/c would start working if we just gave it more time, and they had no other triples available for the night. Finally, at around 11pm, they agreed to allow us to move to two double rooms for the first night, and then they moved us to a different triple room for the remaining 3 nights of our stay. So, it worked out fine in the end, but was just a bit aggravating at first. Again, I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to pay lots of money for good, 3 star hotel.

Great hotel overall with a few minor faults”

Overall a great stay in a very central hotel. The location was ideal, rooms very spacious and clean, and it was in a quiet area. Beds were comfy and showers hot. However there were just a few things that let it down slightly: 1) at times I found the reception staff a bit surly and unhelpful 2) breakfast was fine/edible but very basic. In my opinion you'd be better off not paying for it and going to a nicer and cheaper patisserie round the corner. 3) my mum appeared to get bed bugs on the final night. It definitely wasn't mosquito bites as the bites only appeared first thing in the morning after waking up, but as it was on our last night we did not need to move rooms. The staff didn't seem all that fussed about it but said they would investigate - not that much faith that they will seeing as they didn't know what bed bugs where. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel but with the caveats outlined above.

Our stay”

Hotel was great and centrally located to all the sites. We checked in later at night and the staff was not very welcoming. He doubled as the bartender and was not friendly, misunderstood our drink orders and seemed very unfriendly in general. The hotel was clean and well appointed. Very nice. The rooms were nice, but our shower had gaps in the doors so the bathroom floor was soaked to the point that we used all our towels to walk on and soak up the water. Those were only minor issues and we would definitely stay again. Plus you cant beat the price and location.

Stay here! Best bang for your buck! ”

This hotel was awesome! It was very near to the center of town which meant it was close to all the shopping and delicious restaurants. The hostess upgraded our room for free, too. She was so sweet! The staff was always very helpful. We enjoyed our stay!

Great find”

Located in the hub of activity within walking distance from just about anything you would want to see. This hotel is down the street from larger well known hotels that cost a lot more per night. The breakfast they supply was a pleasant surprise. Another plus is it is situated on a quiet street. We would stay here again.

Good hotel in heart of Budapest”

Nice modern design, friendly staff and excellent breakfast provided. Good access to Budapest's Public Transport. Close to few of the major tourist attractions in Budapest.

Everything we needed ”

Very modern hotel.. Location is just perfect for exploring the city. 2mins walk to the opera where you can get an underground train to city park/thermal baths.

Great Hotel ”

Central location, close to metro, good bus service, start of hop on hop off, the centre, the Jewish centre, the mains shopping area and the Danube, yet quiet as up a side road. Staff helpful and pleasant, rooms excellent and well equipped. Very good breakfast.

Great value”

As others have said, it feels better than 3-star. Nice and modern rooms, eager staff and a nice breakfast spread. I stayed 5 nights and was upgraded to a larger room with a balcony. The only omission was a bar-fridge to keep milk in for my morning coffee.

Beautiful Budapest”

Rooms were modern and comfortable. Good central location within 10-15 minute walk of most tourist attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk personal had excellent English language skills. Be sure to include an evening cruise on the Danube, as the lights of the city are gorgeous.

Great location with lovely reception staff. ”

The location was perfect. A lot of the attractions were within walking distance. The room was spacious and the buffet spread was good. The staff were really helpful with directions, especially Gábor and Milan. Only downside was the TV had signal issues on 2 nights.

Average hotel, nice staff, great location”

We stayed here along with our friends. My wife and I booked what was supposed to be an upgraded room which was over £100 more than our friends paid for a standard room. Turns out that there was no difference in room standard. Both had king size beds, both had a couch or two seats which were useless as there was no lighting in that area, both had exactly the same bathroom. The rooms were nice I guess. Similar to Premier Inn. But there were no usb sockets to charge mobiles or laptops etc, the tv had no English channels at all. Our bed was comfy, and was made every day, but only changed once in a week. The location is great and pretty much in the centre of everything. Opera house, lots of restaurants, pubs, shops, buses, underground metro all within a 10 min walk. Breakfast wasn't fantastic, with rubber sausages, beans and sweet corn and some kind of weird egg on most days. Most of the staff were really nice. I would stay here again, but next time I wouldn't bother with the upgrade.

Excellent hotel great rooms and great staff

Great Location but disappointing staff”

Location of the hotel and the overall value for the money is very good. Room was clean, shower good, plenty of hot water. Breakfast is good, even a bit boring and repeating. Staff at the front desk welcoming, however not of the much help with information about sightseeing and we were provided with an outdated map of hop on-hop off bus and City Card. Staff at the breakfast extremely rude, especially young male. He took my plate and almost hit me in the head while doing so. Obviously, my expression gave me away but instead asking if there is any problem, he started explaining me, in a very rude tone and actually showing me (omg) if I put both my knife and fork on the same side of the plate it means I'm done. So got educated. When I asked senior staff for a complaint book, they sent me to the front desk without even asking if they can help. There were too many people waiting for me to go through with the complaint but must say, this was the far worst staff experience in hotels ever.

Breakfast rather basic. Hotel in good location close to designer shops and plenty of good restaurants.
