A Very Decent Hotel”

I stayed at the Aauris Hotel from the 11th of August to 15th of August, 2016 at room 206. Firstly, it is a great location at 4 Robinson Street, ideally located between Park Street, Theater(Shakespeare Sarani) Road, connected by Loudon Street & Rawdon Street. I booked via Agoda.com and got an excellent deal. I paid everything in advance online. When we reach the hotel, I just said my name and they confirmed that everything was in order and they even gave us a free upgrade to a better room. The staff at the reception, service & restaurant was very cordial and helpful. A welcome drink with a complimentary fruit basket in the room would have added a nice touch though, but okay, fine. A temporary disappointment was that the swimming pool area on the rooftop was being renovated, so we did not feel comfortable taking a dip with all the masons going around with construction material. The room & bathroom was nice & clean, no bad odor or anything. They had an iron & an iron board , which was very convenient. Also a digital safe in the room was very helpful. In the bathroom, they lacked a proper towel rack, which was important to keep spreaded wet towels for drying, especially when 2 people are staying in a room. Food (Breakfast & Dinner) at the restaurant was quite nice taste wise. Size of steak that we ordered should certainly increase. There was some problem with the electrical circuit as the circuit breaker tripped twice. Also all power outlets except 1(one) was out of order. The mini bar fridge worked only on the first day and stopped working the next day onward until the day we left. One thing which I found outrageous was that I had 1 (one) liter of water from the mini bar (on the menu, they mentioned was Rupees 60), which I was okay to pay for, but during they checkout I found that they charged me Rs. 118, which was weird. I was in a hurry to reach the airport, hence I did not bother this time. But, I would definitely take up the matter next time I visit here

Very nice hotel and kindfull staff”

Its a very nice hotel, staff are very gentle. The only thing, i have reserved this hotel because its near and nice and also becaue they have a pool. But since almost 2 weeks the pool its on renovation and i will not advise for that. So when its hot here in Kolkata in the afternoon, then no pool. But i advise the duty manager, i am not happy aboit that , i paid for that also, but for complementary, i would have a soa massage and dinner for excuse them. So this nice from them..

Staycation August”

Our stay at the Aauris was quite pleasant, staff was very courteous and helpful. Cleanliness was maintained. In room dining food prices were slightly on an expensive side. A few suggestions that I'd like to highlight to the management, please improve the quality of the disposables used in the rooms, after 15mins my plate tore off while having dinner. Please provide hot shower facility is possible, also in room kettle must be placed in case any guests wants to heat some drinking water. All in all we had a pleasant stay and are looking forward to visit again in October. Till then stay safe. Thank you for your hospitality.

My 3rd Stay in Aauris”

I have been to Aauris Hotel for the 3rd time. The hotel has a great location, food is ok, not great, great value for money, thanks to Agoda. Will certainly be back, if the tarriff is maintained. All in all, a very good experience.

Aauris a sign of luxury”

This is my third time in six months that I have chosen to stay at Aauris hotel. The location is great. The environment and staff are very friendly. The food at the Blu restaurant is delicious as well. The rooms are comfortable. I just simply love it at Aauris.

Exactly what u expect from a 4 star rating!”

You pay less so you are supposed to get or be treated less. But I'll say Aauris is a good balance. The shower mixer doesn't work properly all the time and they said they are working on it, breakfast should have few more items but the people and staffs are just wonderful. Overall good value for money, you get what you've paid for.

Good location and excellent service”

Centrally located close to Park Street with relatively clean rooms. Good value for money. Special thanks to the staff who were very service minded and went out of their way to help with any special request. Would definitely choose this hotel again provided they keep up / improve their standards and don't become a run down property over time like many other Kolkata hotels.

A modern affordable hotel in the middle of Kolkata”

Pros: affordable, clean, sufficient space in deluxe rooms for a child to move around. Breakfast is a mix of continental and local food and the local dishes were awesome. Modern room design and amenities. Located close to park street and Camac street and one can easily walk down the footpaths to some fancy shops and restaurants. Cons: this hotel is located in a small one way alley and most of the taxi drivers do not know it. Uber was our only option so that gps could guide the driver to the hotel. Also, there is a rooftop club and on weekends the music and crowd both rise to full volume even after midnight. Mostly people on business trip stay or visit this hotel as we witnessed, so less popular with tourists. But I would definitely love to stay here if I visit next time as it suits my taste! 😊

Good”

Nice rooms, good facilities at room. Limited options at breakfast. House keeping guys are helpful but the reception guys are really grumpy. Very reluctant to smile. When you enter a hotel, a smile makes a lot of difference and that's missing at Aauris.

great experience”

for us it was just a perfect hotel experience. good room, clean toilet with amenities, 24 hours room service, close to kolkata's city (park street/park circus/) and not far from Quest mall or fortune mall. I so wish to see the Towels are changed in my next visit. surely recommended for people who loves hotel experience. it has its own roof top bar, a night club and restaurents.

It's not 5 star but the staff are exceptional”

We stayed here as a family of 6 in 2 separate rooms. We are a very clean family and found this hotel, for Indian standards, to be adequate. The staff were very helpful and accomodating and made up our rooms every day and provided each of us with bottled water whenever we asked. The location is great and walking distance to Park Street as well as yummy street food vendors

In the beginning I would have written a very negative review. The pillow cover in our room had stains and the ceiling in the bathroom had many spots of black mold. We informed the desk and were upgraded to a suite. So... all is good, when it ends well.

Disappointing”

First of all, this hotel is difficult to find. It is located very near Park St. but on short a street that is only one block long and is not familiar to taxi drivers. This hotel again confirms my theory that some hotels are constructed with the comfort of the guests in mind, while other hotels are built just to “look trendy” in photos. The Aarus is in the latter category. I stayed for 5 nights at the hotel and it would have been nice to be able to unpack my suitcase, but there was no place to put anything. There were 5 hangers and a tiny room safe but no drawers or shelves. Counter space in the bathroom was also very limited. There was hardly anything in the minibar and items that I took were never replaced. The TV and the bathroom scales were not working and I had to call the maintenance man to come and fix them. I also had a small problem with Wi-Fi reception. So, maintenance of the equipment could be improved. Luckily, I always travel with earplugs and I certainly needed them at this hotel. There is a disco or a club with very loud music until quite late, particularly on weekends. I could not actually hear the music, but the bass beats vibrated in the walls. Most of the restaurants and shops around Park Street are located at the other end of Park St., several minutes away. For a hotel with comfortable, functional and quiet rooms, located near shops and restaurants, I would not choose this hotel again.

Exceptional Staff”

Room service menu items seemed over priced. Otherwise everything else was upto the mark. We loved our stay there. Everyone was so cordial and helpful.

Great Location and friendly staff”

The location is great. Room is nice and clean also quiet . The breakfast was great. I love the food and rooftop bar. Staff are friendly and take a good care during my stayed. I will stay in this hotel again for the next visit 😊

Very good”

While the staff is very helpful, the rooms are small and poorly designed. The maintenance program is not effective since there were multiple problems such as with plug points, shower door, and lighting; these were fixed once pointed out. The location is very central to the city, and the food in the restaurant was very good.

Wonderful experience!”

Amazing hotel with wonderful cooperative staff. The food was good too. The only con for us was that many taxi drivers didn’t know the hotel’s location properly since it is still relatively new! It is a 10-15 minute ride to new market, and taxis are easily available.
