Yadanarpon Dynasty Hotel
Eastern Mandalay,Eastern Mandalay - View on map
"First we spent 1 night when we landed in Mandalay. The service and quality were just right for the rate and we decided to come back upon our return to Mandalay. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable. Nothing fancy but efficient. The breakfast offered a reasonable variety; the bread was good and the omelette delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly; English skills limited but kindness compensates. The hotel is well located and we did all our visits by foot. As well several good restaurants in the neighbourhood. Excellent stay."

E-outfitting Golden Country Hotel

"My first local trip in this year since Covid 19. E outfitting applied health prevention measure well. If you would like to stay the hotel with outdoor swimming pools, gym and restaurant within city areas, E outfitting will be very few of them and you can chill with those facilities. Almost 24 hours tea house is also just beside this hotel. Chills and enjoy!! "

Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar
Eastern Mandalay,Eastern Mandalay - View on map
"After disembarking about 5 a.m. from Myanmar's answer to the Iraqi torture chamber - the Yangon to Mandalay train, my friend and I limped into a 'taxi' and arrived at the Shwe Pyi Thar Hotel about 5.30 a.m. We hoped to store our luggage and find a spot on a floor somewhere so we could recover. However, after looking at our twisted, battered bodies the amazingly empathetic staff booked us straight into our room and even offered us a free breakfast, which I declined but my friend enjoyed. Our stay at this beautiful hotel was enough to restore my faith in Myanmar hospitality and humanity. If ever I return to Mandalay, a stay in the Shwe Pyi Thar will be mandatory."

Royal Naung Yoe Hotel
Eastern Mandalay,Eastern Mandalay - View on map
"Amazing stay! This is a brand new professionally managed hotel offering deep discounts as it builds up its local reputation (Book now while prices are still low!). I booked the month before my visit and only paid $10-12 a night (less than a "cheezy" dorm room)for a proper room with all the amenities you would expect in a nice hotel. The first thing you notice when you arrive at the Royal Naung Yoe Hotel is the friendly staff greeting you at the front entrance with a "tradiional" glass of orange juice. The nicely designed lobby includes two computers for customer use (and rooms also include free Wi-Fi). The rooftop restaurant where you will be served your free breakfast in the morning offers a 360 degree view and is a great way to get oriented to the city of Mandalay. Though the adjacent area to the hotel is lacking in restaurants, shops or attractions, hop on one of the hotel's free bikes and it's a short, straight bike ride down to Mandalay Hill with stops along the way where you can visit the Royal Palace, Kuthodaw Pagoda or even take in a "puppet show." When my taxi driver cancelled on me for an early morning ride to the train station, the hotel security guard took me there by motorbike. My only glitch was the driver the hotel arranged for a local tour so I bookmarked some of the "popular" drivers (from internet forums) on a lobby computer for future use by hotel staff."

Mann Myanmar Inn
Eastern Mandalay,Eastern Mandalay - View on map
"This hotel is older styled and i enjoyed it, staff were good to me. It doesn't give you a real great feeling of being amazing in any way but its definitely very good space and if you spend most time out and don't need a view its one of the best value for money and under-rated hotels. Backpackers should pool money and share a room rather than stay in the low end crapola places."

Hotel Rich Queen 59 Mandalay
Eastern Mandalay,Eastern Mandalay - View on map
"We had a very good time in Mandalay also thanks to our stay at The Rich Queen Hotel in the north-east side of the city. The family-run hotel is modest but clean and cosy, decent rooms with clean towels and sheets everyday. The shower might turn miserable, especially at upper floors level, but just need to ask the staff and they will sort it out quickly. Breakfast is good and the staff always looks after your needs and requests with responsiveness. The distance from downtown is easily coverable either by bicycle (15mins) or motorbike which are always available and in good conditions. We actually enjoyed being away from the crazy traffic of the center not just because the hotel is very peaceful but also because it is conveniently located for visiting both the north-east area off the fortress walls as well as the western one. There are a few nice restaurants in the area, some just 5 mins away from the hotel on the 26th streets, but once we were really exhausted and asked for dinner at the hotel: the staff and service was so quick and good, the food simple but delicious so we decided to go for this option again and again! This gave us the opportunity to connect with the family members and exchange basic English conversation which was fun! Highly recommended. Giada & Matteo "

King Park Hotel
Eastern Mandalay,Eastern Mandalay - View on map
"I think this is a 3* hotel and as such represents good value. All the staff from the bell boys, front counter, maids, restaurant are extremely friendly , polite and helpful. The Western breakfast is the usual half-hearted attempt in SE Asia, but the restaurant does offer great local evening food at a decent price if you couldn't be bothered to go out. You have to be patient with the hot water! I am a walker and found this place close to most attractions. The palace is about 35/40 minutes, the hill about 1.20 hours. There are some good coffee shops and restaurants within 15 minutes, a few massage places and a brilliant rock bar (Yep, I'm old rocker!) - The Rock Gastro bar (Google it), very reasonable drink prices. The music is not heavy!"
