Exceptional”

I like Samui hostel because I felt like home. The owner was really friendly and kind with me. I arrived early but nobody had checked out so she took care of my bags while I was spending sometime outside. They have a lounge area where everybody can eat, drink, talk and charge their phones. WiFi is good in the lounge area and but in the room were fair enough. I would love to go back to Samui !

I wanna a warm shower after one busy day”

1.the nearest distance from the beach 2.the convenient commercial surroundings 3.

The overall staying experience at Samui Hostel is good. The convenient location is the most important point that I want to mention--it just locates near the Chaweng Beach and many shops and restaurant. Waitress do the cleaning everyday and they are nice people. The only thing I may have a complaint about is the water providing system in the room, especially the bath. There's really no warm water in the room, I can never have a warm shower during the 5 days stay at the hostel. I feel a bit disappointed with this. And looking forward to your development of the shower system.

Best staff ever!!!”

Staff, location, price

Before I go to details, GREAT STAFF that made an honest mistake and rectified it immediately. Our room was booked out to someone else as we arrived late :( . However the owner put us up at another accommodation with a pool at his own cost (a little further out) dropped us off and took us for dinner that night. He then picked us up the next day to continue our stay back at Samui Hostel. It was NY eve and the family that runs the joint often invited us to drink with them....Thanks guys!!

Loved it”

I loved the location, it was a nice walk into town. The showers were warm and the rooms very clean.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Showers were warm and the room was spotless. It was cleaned everyday. However my friends plug exploded in the wall and we had to change room. The woman in charge had very little English so it was hard to talk to her. I would definitely recommend hostel samui, best hostel in Thailand so far! :-)

Ok hostel in sad neigbourhood”

Our room was huge with a private bathroom and A/C for a very good price. But the hostel in itself is a bit old and not very clean. We chose to be in a hostel to meet people but we did not see any common area which was a little fast. If you don't already know Koh Samui, check carefully the beaches and the neighbourhoods. You probably to want to stay in Chaweng, the beach is not very nice and very noisy and crowded, the restaurants are for tourists only and serve very poor quality food.

Great stay”

The room, the people, the atmosphere

Had a great stay at Samui Hostel, I was a bit worried due to some of the bad reviews I've read which tbh I think are rubbish. Everything was clean had an a/c room which was great. The people I met were the best and the communal area is such a laugh - literally a non stop party! I loved it. Is a bit of a walk from Ark Bar etc but that is reflected in the price. I would definitely recommend staying here - ignore all the bad reviews! Staff on reception were also very friendly and helpful.

For the money, this place is a great stay. ”

As long as you're okay with walking, this place is good. We were up on the fourth floor in an ac room that had 8 bunks and its own bathroom. The beds and pillows are extremely nice, but our blankets were like oversized towels-a little scratchy. You get your own locker with a lock and key. You do have to do a lot of walking. The beach is about a 5-10 min walk and bars, like the Green Mango and Ark bar, were around 30 min. Our group was perfectly okay with this. We had a great time and will probably stay here every time we go to Samui.

Great staff, rooms/beds were big and clean, and inexpensive

Great place to stay if you want to be in Chaweng near the beach. The price was awesome, the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help in any way that they could, and the rooms were nicer than your average hostel in Thaliand. No complaints, definitely worth checking out.

Comfortable, location, excellent value for money

Beat hostel I've stayed so far- staff were helpful friendly and cleaned room every mornig without fail - providing loo roll ammeneties etc. Beds/rooms were clean comfortable with safety deposit boxes at end of each bed - we had balcony too. Excellent location in the chaweng beach area - but 20min walk from major clubs so not noisy in evening. Shower was tempremental but when it worked it was hot and powerful

Great location great value clean ”

Supposed to stay here 1 day, stayed 3. Amazing for your price and way out did my expectation. Fan room has multiple fans, it is warm but skeepable. Electrical outlet by bedside with lamp. Place was clean, bathrooms could use a bit of updating but clean with toilet paper. Common area was awesome for meeting people, some people smoke in it but that's thailand. 2 minutes walk from the beach and 711, 5 minutes walk to the markets. 150 bhat from pier took around 45 minutes due to traffic. Can book excursions through hostel. Highly recommend.

Clean and comfortable for price”

The building is clean and the staff are friendly. It seemed like there was already sand in my bed when I got there but hey... it’s walking distance to some great food and a free beach (just ask the staff or some shopkeepers where to go). The area itself has a lot to be desired. Noisy and dirty. There’s lots of construction going on, dogs barking late through the night, and the perpetual sound of the annoying Muay Thai advertisement trucks blaring down the street until nearly midnight. I liked it but might try a different beach on Samui next time.
