Beautiful Maldives, not much else to say. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Service requests were a bit slow and the over water villa we stayed in was old and dated. Many electrical plugs didn't work. I think they need to renovate the villas to be more modern. Also prices for food and drink are outrageous.

A Relaxing Time”
Anantara Veli is a great resort to relax. The whole resort is well-kept and a nice place to walk around. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights. The boat ride from the airport to the island was about 45 minutes. The staff welcomed us warmly, and we were introduced to our villa host who would help us throughout the trip. Anantara Veli is connected to 2 other islands, so there is much to explore. We stayed in the Over Water Bungalow with the pool. It was a private location, facing the open ocean. Though there was not much marine life to see by our overwater bungalow. We had to swim to the other villas to see marine life. We wished there was a staircase from the common walkway to the marine life area, so we did not have to swim or walk all the way across the villas. There a quite a few restaurants but only the Thai food was decent. The other restaurants - Japanese and Grilled, was below expectations. Especially since we were paying decent amount for the meals. Overall, we had a good stay.

So so honeymoon trip”
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the airport rep at airport while waiting for our boat to resort. Everything was fine till our checking time. The staff assisted us to our room which we were quite dissapointed since our villa is the first villa along the jetty which means it was partially on the sand! We asked them to change our villa since we paid for overwater bungalow means it should be overwater one, but unfortunately they were fully occupied. So we just accepted it and stay there. The villa was fine, not that bad but, before my arrival wrote them and requested for honeymoon room deco since we were on honeymoon trip, they did that deco but i think local island did better than that sorry Anantara :) Also our toilet also clogged a bit which it was quite disgusting to look at. Apart from being quite dissapointed about the villa, i can still compliment the staffs that they were great to help and services were excellent. I will come back for sure but not in the same villa :)

Underwhelming for a Maldives resort”
First of all the hotel looks great on Instagram but in reality it's quite a different story. First came across the hotel in the Conde Nast travellers guide , so hey what could go wrong right? For an Island that is supposedly rated #4 in the world , the reality is severly underwhelming when it comes to the hardware (ie the rooms) and software (the service). First of all the overwater bungalow that we booked had zero to no privacy as we were situated literally on the beach that many other beachgoers were on and could look directly into our room, not to mention wading and snorkelling under the area where we could take a shower. The planks on the walkway were also loose and rotting as we walked towards the villa. Secondly the toilet fittings were corroded and old as were alot of the creaking doors and windows . The pump on the soap dispenser was also broken and the flush on the toilet had issues as well, with a lot of reverse pumping going on in the middle of the night. Food was awful.

YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH ANANTARA VELI”
My wife and I decided to go to Maldives to celebrate our third year wedding anniversary as well as our birthdays. Booking for a resort in Maldives is not easy as there are almost 200 resorts available. We are glad we chose Anantara Veli and definitely, we will go back to this resort when we visit Maldives again. Anantara Veli is just one of the high-end, private yet reasonably-priced resorts of Anantara group. Veli is recommended for couples young and old as the resort is packaged for people who want to go for a honeymoon. For travellers with kids. the nearby Anantara Dhigu is the place to book since many kid-friendly facilities are housed there. Going back to Veli, there are options if you prefer a villa on the beach or villa over water. To get the Maldive experience, we chose to stay on the decently-sized villa over water; complete with a very big bed, a lounge sofa, a sun daybed, a big master toilet with rainshower and tub. Anything that you would need in a hotel is in Veli -- and everything is posh! The included breakfast buffet is superb! No complaints, as there are many to choose from. And if you get tired of eating at the same restaurant in the morning, you can opt to go to the nearby Dhigu and have your breakfast there. There are Japanese, Western, Thai themed restaurants as well for lunch and dinner. The prices are a bit on the high side, but overall dining experience is always great. The room service menu choices are varied and reasonably priced as well. The staff are very attentive and personal. They can arrange anything for you, and you can sense the sincerity in all their actions. The best trait for any service personnel. This you can feel from the waitstaff to the manager. Another reason why we chose this resort is because of the ease of travel from Male. You just need to ride their in-house very fast speedboats which will bring you to the resort in 35-40 minutes from Male. Definitely, the Maldivian experience is not overhyped with Anantara

Wonderful hotel with extremely helpful staff”
Our stay at anantara veli resort was wonderful. The resort island location was convinient only 30 minutes away from Male. We found the rooms to be quite comfortable. Another feature we enjoyed was the shower, it opened up into the deck and so you could shower in the fresh air while still having privacy. The resort also offered an array of water sports and activities, however, they are only able to be enjoyed weather permitting. The Resort also provides complimenary snorkling gear for the duration of your trip. The food was a bit on the pricy side but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for the Maldives. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accomidating to any request. Another thing one should keep in mind is that Anantara has 3 resort islands that are all accessible to one another by pontoon. Veli is the island pridominantly visited by couples, dhigu is more of a family friendly island and the final island is for private residences. All guests at any island can use facilites of any other Anantara island without any issue. I would recommend all interested parties keep that in mind so they can book th location most suitable for them. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Anantara Veli.

Great Experience”
Marriages in India are really tiring and hence both of us wanted to have visit a place that is beautiful and at the same time relaxing and ofcourse fits our budget :-) So after reading reviews and comments about so many resorts in maldives and talking to travel agents we decided on Anantara Veli for 4 nights.... and yes we made the correct choice. Anantara is collection of 3 islands and anyone can visit these 3 islands using the ferry service provided by the Resort. Each of these islands have a different setup and room types and restaurants, the islands are not that big and dont take much time to go around but there is no way your stay becomes monotonous, there is plenty on offer. Veli has only water bunglows and they are spacious and offer all that you need, to name a few useful ones water bottles (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening), tea & coffee maker (with adequate refills), Umbrella, Mini Bar (paid bases), Pair of safety jackets (incase you decide to step in the ocean below you !!!! ) 7) spacious bathrooms with an tub, and open shower area (and still take of your privacy) to let you enjoy the ocean and fishes 8) wardrobes, electronic safe, sofa with a table, king size bed with side tables and lamps, 9) Balcony facing the sea with a pair of chair, table and bed Both of us dont know swimming so were reluctant to get into the water but seriously once you step in you dont wanna come out. Do get your snorkling kit from the Aquafanatics Watersports centre, and try spotting some colorful fishes in the beautiful blue waters of Maldives. food : for veggis the choices are limited but can easily manage, tank up in the morning with a amazing breakfast and in the evening try dinner @ Baan Huraa (the way to this place is really romantic) also dont miss-out on Terrazzo (Dhighu) both these located in the sea !!! opt for seating in the open... Overall very nice and amazing experience and thanks to the Anantara Hospitality.

fantastic resort but very expensive”
this is a first rate property with well appointed and well maintained "over water" villas. there are many great looking and near identical resort islands in the maldives which are less expensive but i have only seen the other properties from a yacht just off the beach so cannot comment on service or room quality at the other similar resorts. be prepared to pay a lot for your villa at anantara veli resort and be prepared for a big shock at the prices charged for drinks and meals!! least expensive option is the thai restaurant which has excellent food and wonderful staff. this is a quiet and peaceful resort so if you're looking for night action go somewhere else. on the other hand if you're seeking serenity in a beautiful tranquil location and you put perfection before price then this is the place.

Good service and huge room”
i booked water bungalow at anantara veli two week before our travel, and it was an last minute deal. on our arrival, we were told that they upgrade us to the water villa at anantara dhigu, which is more expensive with larger room. it's really a big surprise to us, and the water villa at anantara dhigu was amazing. during our stay on the island, we were spoiled with great service and nice food. i like the kayake which is two hours free for guests, and my husband and i did it twice. by kayaking, we can reach to a small island that is close to the water villa, and it is a very good place for snorkelling. at that island, we saw a lot of beautiful fishes and coral underwater and took many nice pictures. thanks anantara for brining us such a wonderful trip and memory in maldives!

Best choice for us!”
I came to Veli for honeymoon with my husband and it has become our best experience so far. Ms.Kim and Mr.Prashirt are very helpful during our stay. Room boy Jaxlaan is very nice in keeping our room clean everyday. An Indonesian woman in 73 degrees and an Indonesian man in the kitchen of 73 degrees are very nice too, they served us really well and always make us smile every morning we saw them. ALmost all the staffs there are very nice, greeting and keep smile everytime they see us. We feel honoured when some even remember our names. We asked for room #165 and it is just perfect. We can see Moyo Island from our room and we can swim to reach it just in 10-15mins. We can also go to Anantara Dhigu, another hotel by the same company, by pontoon. So convenient. Oh! We also see baby sharks two times in the water near the beach in Veli. Origami, japanese restaurant in Veli, is one of the restaurants you have to try!! We went there two times because it is so delicious. The prawn sushi roll is the bomb. Beef is very tender too and the local fish has no fishy smell. So fresh and yum! Thank you Anantara Veli for making our honeymoon so memorable. Hope I will come back soon.

Spectacular view!!”
Me and wife decided to go to maldives for our honeymoon. We went for anantara because of the very attractive offer at the time. Well, we got way more than what we paid for!! Upon arrival, we were transported to the resort with a luxurious yacht. When we arrived on the resort, oh my ... We made the right decision to choose this establishment. Spectacular view was an understatement! We watched sunset on out balcony. On one fine afternoon, we saw a school of dolphines playing and jumping around 100 meters away from where we sat. we snorkled from our villa balcony all the way to the other reasort 200 meters across. The only disapointing moments were when we asked for a beach towel, it came 3.5 hours later after we called asking for it the second time. In all, thank you anantara veli resort for making our honeymoon very memorable

Worth for couple for stay ”
It was a perfect stay in Anantara Veli Resort & Spa for our birthday treat .Firstly we were panic because of the late night flight and arrived to the airport late at night, but when we see the hotel guys just stand in front of the exit of immigration to welcome you then bring you to the private boat heading to the hotel. 35mins drive is easy and fast, but it was quite costly USD$400 for this boat arrangement. After we settle down , hotel bring the wine and cake because it was my birthday , quite surprised. Room is OK for cleanliness but our room is toward the beach, firstly think it is not quite privacy but later we find that it is quite good as it just got coral reef right down our over water bungalows, it is amazing to see fishes and coral just down from your rooms. The pingoon travel to another anantara hotel is easy and just a minute , you can enjoy the amazing sunset dinner over the pool with life music . but there is more family and group travelers on the others side of hotel, maybe a bit noisy if you just want a quite honeymoon with your honey. Breakfast is perfect, many choice and even this have gluten free milk and almond and soy milk. Thai food is good too . WIFI is perfect everywhere in the hotel and beach , bars and pool. it is quite a good experience of spending 5 days in the same hotel and didn't few boring. good choice !

#HonestReview this is my third time In maldive and I would never spent time writing any review for other resort but this one i will do it. Since the first day i chose Anantara resort I will absolute warm and safe. Firstly, their 24hrs live chat will always respond on time. While reaching the resort the team manage to gave us a very warm welcome. Through out our entire stay everything was a blessed , Specially thank to mr Mughni for all the help and guide us thru. I really enjoying my stay as the resort has 3 connecting island where guest can access all the three. The service is top notch. Bt breakfast can be improved.
