Excellent stay”

We had an excellent ending to our months journey in Thailand at Andalay Resort, Ko Libong. The resort has been designed beautifully, the gardens are wonderfully layed out and the swimming pool is fantastic (you can order your cocktail to the side of the pool). The swimming pool is also the place to watch the incredible sunsets! We stayed in one of the Anda rooms, it was spacious, clean, comfy and had some really great features! The resort is on the beach, opposite is a small island that you can kayak too, the water is crystal clear but it is quite a rocky area with the tide going in and out so you have to catch the right time to kayak. ko Libong is still a very remote island, there aren't any official places to visit or taxis to take you anywhere. What I can recommend is getting a scooter from the resort and exploring the island, there are plenty of remote beaches to find, with hundreds of beautiful shells and giant hermit crabs! The fishing village is really interesting and the locals are really friendly - try a breakfast down there! Next to Andalay are two other beach bungalow resorts so there are other options for somewhere to eat walking distance. There are several local spots nearby too, the island is dry so be aware that alcohol is only sold in the resorts (at a higher price than normal). We took a day trip to Ko Muk and the emerald caves - I would really recommend doing this if you're staying there for a while. The staff at Andalay are brilliant! Very helpful and happy people! I would 100% recommend Andalay Beach Resort, perfect place to chill out in luxury!

Very nice hotel, location and staff.”

If I had to describe the Andalay Beach Resort on Koh Libong in a single sentence I would say that it's a very nice, boutique sized,rustic-Thai style, beach side, resort with friendly staff who go out of their way to please. I only stayed at the resort for 4 nights but in that time I got a good feeling for the resort, it's staff and the amenities and location that it offers. Koh Libong is a small, very uncommercialised island so if partying all night long is what you're looking for then both the resort and island are not for you, however if an unspoilt Thai island and a relaxing time fit your bill then this could be what you're looking for. While at the resort I hired a motor bike, you can see most of the island and what it has to offer in a day or less, went cycling, hill walking, running on the beach, walked to a nearby island at low tide, went swimming, saw a beautiful sunset, went looking for and failed to see dugong, sea mammals that feed in the local waters, and had some great Thai and western food at the resort restaurant. And with more time I could have gone snorkeling, kayaking and out on a long-tailed boat tour. So a resort to relax in but also much to do if your looking looking for distraction from resting. The staff were all helpful and friendly but the lady at reception, who's name I didn't get, was particularly helpful with much of what I did so I attach her photo as an example of the great resort staff. Just a few other comments, I think Andalay is the best resort on the island, I certainly didn't see any other similar styled or quality resorts on my travels, Andalay has 21 double rooms / chalets with another 2 being built, so small in size, there are no well stocked shops on the island, many small local convenience stores but nothing larger, and outside of the resort there were few alternative places to eat, so for me important that the food at the Andalay is good.

6-star services with great environmental stewardship. Will definitely return.”

We had a 3-day stay on this island-getaway resort. We were truly happy with the services and how much attention in detail the staff and the owner of this resort put. We stayed at many other 5- and 6-star resorts, but we were most impressed by the sincerity and the level of detail that the staff at Andalay Beach Resort gave us. We were greeted by our first name by all the staff even though we never met them before from the pier on the mainland side all the way to the first step into the resort. This is a pleasant surprise as most Thai business would greet us as "Mr. Customer" in Thai. We were impressed by the very friendly and peaceful vibe and smile everywhere including the gardeners and cleaning staff. The staff are also knowledgable and helpful. The landscape is very well kept. You can see the grooming marks on the sandy part and no fallen leaves. They use native plants to decorate the yards and to protect the sand from wind erosion. The beach is so lively, especially during low tide and after the sun set. We were greeted by so many crabs and hermit crabs. Low tide is really low and you can walk to another small island nearby where locals go there to dig up some clams. You could imagine marine lives we saw when the tide is back by just snorkel out from the beach. The architectural design of the buildings blends very well with the surroundings. We kayaked parallel to the beach to the northern part of the island. We could not see any of the resort's buildings. They are well hidden and not creating visual conflicts compared to the other resorts along the same beach. The villa we stayed is very cute and spacious with a deck and big bathroom built-in. The food and drinks are good and at a reasonable price even though hotel restaurant is more-of-less your main choice. They did not jack up the price at all. We got Kayak and bicycle free of charge to travel around the local community. We can rent scooters or arrange a pickup truck from the hotel as well. We had an excur

Great Hotel on a remote island”

Wonderful architecture and garden, super friendly staff and very clean

Had a wonderful stay at Andalay Beach Resort. The Resort just opened a couple of month ago and has a very well designed architecture, spacious and comfortable rooms with great interior design and a lovely well cared garden. As Libong still is very remote with very little tourists, there is nothing to do except snorkeling and just relaxing. What we were looking for. The tide has a wide range and the difference may be around 2-3 meters. So while Sunset was dry and looked like on the moon, morning and daytime was full of water. We liked the different atmosphere. The water itself was cristal turquoise. I would definitely recommend Libong if you look for a remote place. Also the locals at the fisherman's village and also around the island are super friendly. They are not really used to tourists and find it exciting to talk :-)

Thailand's best kept secret”

My wife and I were looking for a week long getaway and Andalay was the perfect place for that. The architecture and landscaping of the resort is beautiful. A lot of attention to detail. As we were there for a week, we did a couple of long tail boat excursions and snorkeling. Their massages should not be missed. The food was great and cocktails were even better. We are so happy that we found such a gem of a resort. Koh Libong is probably among the last few destinations in Thailand which is still untouched and not spoilt. I cannot forget the staff. Warm, courteous and always with a smile on their faces. They made us feel at home. I am sure Andalay is one place I will surely visit again. We have come back from our holiday at Andalay with such fond memories!

Lovely place, wonderful staff”

This is a lovely spot on Koh Libong. It's easy enough to get to from Trang airport. The rooms are super clean and comfortable, the gardens nice and relaxing. The food is excellent, especially the breakfast. The surroundings are very natural and unspoiled: we saw eagles just by the resort, dugongs, dolphins and sailfish from the boat trips. The long-tail boat trips are good to see some of the other Trang islands and well worth doing, especially if you like snorkeling. You can also borrow canoes from the resort or motorbikes to tour the island: there's a fishing village to see, a few other beaches, a cliff-top view point to see dugongs if you are lucky (you climb through a cave to get there). The best thing is the staff: wonderfully friendly and helpful. The only slightly disappointing thing was the beach at the resort is not so good for snorkeling but the boat trips can take you to nearby islands for that, no problem. I hope I can make it back here some time soon!

Exceptional on every level!”

Our four night stay at the Andalay was the highlight of our Asian six week vacation. The property is GORGEOUS! The restaurant serves exceptional delicious moderately priced meals. The complimentary breakfast is outstanding. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the Adaman and provided sunset picture perfect evenings. With two pools and a quite deserted beach we felt like royalty. The staff are so accommodating and friendly you completely recognize and appreciate their phenomenal and stellar 9.4 rating on Agoda. If you are fortunate enough to find yourself on Ko Libong make Andalay your home for a few days and experience true Thailand hospitality. When they wave goodbye to you you will understand how special this place is. Thank you Andalay! Leigh Michael and Hailey Canada

Great place, friendly people”

Koh Libong is very good if you look for peace and tranquility. The island is not much developed. Andalay is probably the best resort on the island. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the resort is very nice, directly at the beach with perfect sunset view. The water is however during low tide hardly deep enough to swim. The rooms are nicely designed, spacious and clean. The safe could be a bit bigger. Overall great !

Lovely resort ”

The room the beach and the staff

This is a fantastic place to stay if you want peace and quiet. Great happy friendly staff. Lovely beach which is a oasis for hermit crabs. Food is ok and not too expensive for a hotel. Just wish it could do fresh coffee/fruit juices . Coffee is really awful. And fruit juices are from a bottle of cordial. It's an expensive hotel but worth it if you want to treat yourself, be aware there are only four rooms directly with ocean beach views, the Andre rooms are in a block at the back . Top tips , go to the little village to the left for dinner..book a fresh fish In advance 1kg of fish off the barbecue was 400 bht, and lovely. Get your beer from libong resort between relax and Andalay 90bht for large Chang. And definatley borrow the Free cycles to go to dugong point ,(wear some shoes.)It's a very precarious climb right to the top ,, but it's a fantastic view and I saw two dugongs . Go to the fishing village pier and climb their tower..and have 30bht lunch .and lastly borrow the free kayaks from the hotel and go round the island each night to watch the sunset. ...fantastic.. I loved it here.

amazing stay ”

We spent 5 days at Andalay Resort: originally we booked for 3 but we were so happy that we extended. We had a wonderful beach front villa, with an amazing view over the sea. This place is amazing: a small boutique resort, with few villas/rooms and a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms and all the facilities are very clean and taken care of. The staff is nice, pleasant and very friendly - always willing to run the extra mile to make the guest feel comfortable. The food is also very good (both thai and international). We were there with our 4 years old daughter and they have been always to genuinely nice and friendly with her. We explored a bit the island as well: there are almost no tourist at all and the local people are very friendly. So overall a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend Andalay to people who are looking for a relaxing corner of paradise outside the classica touristic routes. I would also lie to say that the other guests that were in the place in our same period were all very nice and respectful people (all pretty silent, respecting each other and nice), which made our stay even better. Thank you to Andalay and all the staff for an amazing vacation

(we experienced travelling by public transportation from airport to resort. It was safe for the money wise, yet we spent the whole day waiting for the van to Hat Yao pier.) Better to have the longer stay on the beach, than stuck somewhere exhausting! Well! resort is on the beach. Best for sunset. Good view. Clear water. Facility: we booked the room with seaview, but been upgraded by the owner. Thanks for your kindness to let us have unexpected experience (in a good way^^) for our stay. We were in the villa, 1 minute away from the beach, equipped with all basic stuff you need. There are Kayak, bike and motorcycle for us to enjoy the sea and island. There are 2 pools. Staff: Superb hospitality provided, especially Khun Fon. They are kind, caring and helpful.( majority of Libong islander are super nice and kind) During the stay, I got cold. Once they noticed, they gave me medicine with doctor's advice. We felt "caring". Food: nothing to eat much on the island. Luckily, the resort provided the good food. Breakfast was great, especially Roti. We tried both Thai and Western food; both were delicious. Yet,Thai food was our preferred option.Yummy! Good place for relaxing. Recommended!

Hidden gem on a slow island”

This is a very much recommended place to stay on Libong. Actually it is the only real place to stay. I have nothing bad to say on Andalay. Everything lived up to our expectations. And a little bit more. The crew was amazing with Nee as our favorite. As for the island, Libong, you will have to know, that it is very local and authentic. This said, there is not much to do on the island. But the surroundings around Andalay is fantastic. Thank you for 7 great nights❤️

Excellent”

On arrival we had a great welcome from Khun Nee and all the staff,we were lucky in getting upgraded without asking to a beach villa bungalow. The resort is all about stepping back in time in Thailand and enjoying each others company. There is enough to see and I would recommend a 3 full day break there ,which will give you enough time to jump on a motor bike and explore the island. I would recommend that if you want to go off the Beaton track on the bike it’s best to have some motor bike experience as some of the tracks are a challenge. You can hire a motorbike side car taxi to explore 500 baht . 250 baht to hire a motor bike for 24 hrs. We also went round the whole island on a long tail boat which cost 2000 baht and stopped to see the dugnong which was great and stopped to see some lovely untouched beaches . The people are really friendly and helpful and it’s not full of tourists, so appreciate it for what it is a lovely untouched part of Thailand. Thanks to all the staff at the Andalay beach resort keep up the good work

Perfect for relaxation”

Very beautiful resort , perfect for relaxing for a few days, quiet, nice beach (although not the white sand crystal clear water beach but there would be more tourists then). Koh Libong is a nice island, there is not a lot to do or to visit. Few tourists what make it more authentic than other islands. You can do boattrips which we didnt made due to our kid. The fishermen village nearby is nice, especially the streetfood is very good. We loved the resort and the location!

Couldn’t find anything to fault with this hotel the staff are unbelievable with how welcoming and with the service they provide. The hotel its self is very well kept with lovely rooms and nice facilities right on the beach front. I would highly recommend this resort and give Koh Libong a visit its a really nice place with such friendly people. Thanks for such a lovely stay 🙏🙏🙏

Quiet place for recharge”

It's a bit tricky to get to Koh Libong, especially if you travel by car. We left the car at our Hotel in Phuket, took the speedboat to Koh Muk, and from there a longtail to Libong. Our recommadation: Call/Mail the reception for Pick Up by longtail at Muk, so you reach the hotel directly at the beach and the staff will give you a warm welcome. It's a bit more expensive (300 Baht) but really worth it.

Good, but can not meet expectations”

Looking for an island getaway we found Andalay in Koh Libong. The island is located in Trang and is not a big tourist location. So we expected nice and quiet beaches. To go to Koh Libong you must take the boat from had yao pier. From the Koh Libong pier, you must either arrange a resort pick-up or a motor tuk tuk taxi. The resort is located on the western beach of the island. The resort is very new and comes with a lot of facilities. There is a good restaurant and a massage bungalow. When we arrived at our bungalows the first impression was really good, however looking a bit better you start to notice the flaws in design of the huts. The interior look very nice, using a lot of wooden branches and tree trunks that are laminated. Use of a lot of glass make it very light inside. However the sliding doors do not seal off the bungalow from the outside. So there was a variety of insects and pests in our bungalow. We had cockroaches, mice and mosquitos in our bungalow. Which is not really nice considering the pricing of the bungalows. The faclilites such as the restaurant and swimming pool are excellent. You can also use kayaks to explore the coastline. All in all a good place to stay, however it does need to ramp up its cleanliness and the build quality of the bungalows to meet its pricing
