Beautiful Setting and Great Service”
We LOVED our stay at Andalay Boutique Resort. It's right on Klong Nin Beach, which is a beautiful beach that stretches North and South of the hotel. It's lined with restaurants and bars. We were shocked that there weren't more people on the beach. Andalay has less than 20 rooms, which is similar to the neighboring hotels, there's no skyscraper hotels. Koh Lanta was our favorite beach town destination. We liked Ao Nang in Krabi, but still a bit busy and Phuket was overcrowded and pretty gross. Koh Lanta is a place we can't wait to come back to. We were greeted with huge smiles and a friendly welcome, the staff here are wonderful. The rooms were big, clean and each room had an outside sitting area which looked out to the beach. They even have a beach front massage area, prices are more expensive, but it was the best massage we experienced. The hotel is quiet and relaxing. The breakfast is a standard buffet. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!!

Wonderful”
We stayed at the resort across the road last year (which we enjoyed) but thought the Andalay was so lovely we wanted to come back! We weren't disappointed! Good: Position, beach (beautiful), restaurant, size of rooms, cleanliness, very friendly staff and very helpful too, swimming-pool, general appearance and general ambience. Had breakfast which was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. Lunch was good and freshly cooked. We didn't eat dinner there as there were so many places to eat within walking distance but we ate there last year and were very satisfied. Bad: Bit of a smell in the bathroom -- but it's Thailand, hot and it wasn't all the time. It didn't bother us and I only mention it as I thought I had to say something bad! The best meal we had there (and we found it last year) was Yang Restaurant -- about 300 metres away on the right (walking to the 7-11) and down a small lane. We can "highly" recommend it! We will return to Koh Lanta, Klong Nin Beach again and will "definately'' stay at the Andalay!

Classy, beach-front bungalows”
We had an excellent time staying at the Andalay Boutique Resort on Koh Lanta. We were traveling together as a young couple and wanted to have a romantic get-away. The resort was a great place to spend time relaxing, and even though the rooms come paired together in the separate bungalows, our room felt intimate and secluded enough. This is a great spot to base yourself for an exploration of the area. We had no trouble booking boat tours to go snorkeling around Koh Phiphi and the four southern islands, and everyone knew where the resort was, which made pick-up and drop-off easy. Also check out nearby restaurants Otto (great ribs), Shanti shanti (creative homemade ice cream) and Horizon (hammocks and a pool table). The staff were friendly and seemed to be mostly from the Philippines. But they were not helpful booking us the public shuttle from Krabi for when we first arrived. They wanted us to take a much more expensive private shuttle. Fortunately, the shuttles are easy to book from the airport. We decided thereafter to book all our transport and tours ourselves. That worked well.

Exceptional”
We very much enjoyed our stay at beautiful Andalay. It is located maybe at the best beach (Klong Nin) of the whole island, at the beach I mean the hotel is literally at the beach. Basically all the rooms have a sea view. Fine white sand with no rocks so swimming is easy anytime, variety of nice places to eat or have a drink around (beach or street side). It's nicely in the middle of the island so you can scoot or tuktuk anywhere fairly easy. Hotel facilities are only for the guests so you can have your privacy and plenty of room at the pool. Our room was pretty, spacious and had a powerful AC and a modern bathroom with rainwater shower and a bathtub. Staff is very friendly and always there for you if you need something. Breakfast could be freshened up a bit but it was still ok. I would like to come back to Andalay some day!

Exceptional Hotel for price”
our room was a bungalow type one story residence with direct access to the pool and beach.the pool is in between the room and the sand! klong nin beach has to be one of the best beaches in the area.the sunsets were amazing.the room was farely large with a big lcd tv and a great balcony/terrace. the breakfast started at 7am but they cooked eggs to your preference.there are many restaurants in close vicinity but the hotels restaurant menu was pretty good too.there's a travel agent right next door. we were extremely happy with our stay despite the mosquitos and andalay will definitly be our first choice next time.

great place, nice staff, good food!”
This is a really nice small resort at the beach. Clean and good bungalows. Friendly staff and good food! A place to relax and enjoy the beach life. The swimmingpool is clean. Every year i am happy to stay at the andalay! If you are on koh lanta and you like animals...it is nice to visit the lanta animal shelter. There are not a lot of strays on the island, thanks to them!!! Andalay has a lovely black/white stray cat, very friendly and she loves the attention! Enjoy andalay and koh lanta!

A great tranquil environment to relax”
Andalay was a great find for the price. Though it is a 3 star I think it could easily be rated as a 4 star with not much effort. There are comments that it is a little pricey for what you get but I cannot agree. We looked around at other hotels in the same price range on the beach and could not find anything that came close that was not a lot more expensive. We stayed in both the Sunset Sea View and the Garden View. The attention to detail in the design of the resort is the best we have seen in the price range across the islands. All rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. Most have sea view and there are some great, slightly bigger beach front units if you want to pay the extra. The pool is well positioned and large enough for the resort and the whole resort flows nicely onto a perfect beach that is uncrowded. The restaurant is well priced as are the drinks. When exploring we found that most other resorts were more expensive. There are plenty of good independent restaurants on the beach that are easy to walk to and many have tables right on the sand. The onsite spa was also very well priced. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This hotel was my pick of all the places I have staying in Thailand. It was immaculately kept, had a beautiful beach and great little restaurants to explore. It was away from the hub and thus nice and quite. A perfect, well priced, relaxing end to our holiday. FYI - Andalay runs excellent out of season specials. Watch Agoda and look out for the last minute specials too.

A perfect boutique hotel in lanta for couples ”
I like this hotel very much. Even you need to take a taxi by around 25 mins/requesting hotel to arrange taxi from pier to hotel (hotel arrangement is200b P.P), i was impressed when i reached this hotel. Almost rooms is facing to the swimming pool and the beach and the sea. It was so quiet. The sands was white and soft, so amazing. Not many tourists in this area. Both front desk and restaurant staff were much nice and helpful. I took all meals in this hotel. When I booked one day trip to koh rok, the boat picked up me just in the beach so easy. I must come back to stay with Andalay when I go to Koh Lanta again. Koh lanta is so beautiful.

Perfect, restful getaway for our family”
We were looking for a restful Christmas getaway for a stressed and busy family of four -- this resort was exactly what the doctor ordered! The location provides direct access to a quiet section of white sand beach and warm turquoise water, along with lovely views of the sunset...the rooms are spacious, clean, modern and well-appointed...the menu featured both Asian and Western options, all of which were delicious, and the wide variety of beverages offered were cold and refreshing...all provided by a very friendly and helpful Thai staff. As a result, we spent most of our holiday at the small resort itself..for those looking for greater stimulation, a short walk along the beach or the access road in either direction brought us to a wide selection of restaurants and some simple shopping, and tuk-tuks, taxis, rented scooters or a car give access to the busier sections of Koh Lanta's lovely beaches, as well as to near-deserted beaches at the southern end of the island, the National Park, old Lanta Town, elephant trekking, ATM's and banks, etc etc. There are regular boat trips to the better known Koh Phi Phi and environs. We really had an extraordinarily restful and refreshing vacation, and have recommended the resort (and Koh Lanta) to othes in search of a similar experience. We all agree that we'd very gladly come back again!

Great location and staff”
We booked Andalay the day before arrival, and got reasonable prices for Premium room. However, when arriving, we were upgraded to Beachfront Suite!! And this was fantastic! We were booked for 2 nights, but immediately booked 2 more nights when we had walked around the hotel area and beach. Nice and helpful staff, all smiles... The pool area is clean and really nice, with an infinity pool. The restaurant serves decent food as well, and happy hour provided maybe the best priced cocktails in the area. Although we stayed in the beachfront suites, the deluxe rooms seemed lovely, with a small "river" in front of them, and a tiny bridge to cross in order to get to the pool area. One minus: Hard beds, but we survived. Food for thought: The bathroom is really inviting, but open, only covered with a curtain. This was no problem for us, but some might feel a little uncomfortable, risking a cockroach to enter:-). Good breakfast as well! We concluded that we would come back for sure, if we stayed in this area of Koh Lanta!

Right on the beach!”
I quite enjoyed the hotel. I loved the fact that I could walk straight out of my room to the beach and the beach area was quite nice - no trash and no rocks. The room was a modern decor and quite large. The bathroom has a semi-open air concept which does mean bugs will get into the bathroom but to me, it wasn't an issue. A/C worked great. I found the staff very friendly. I did wish there was a small broom in the room so we could sweep out the sand we tracked in, without having to get the staff. We got there at the beginning of the busy season in November. The breakfast was order off the menu (go for the Thai options, they are much better than the western ones) but on our last day they switched to the buffet, which they have for the busy season. If you like coffee, you will be disappointed but the coffee seemed standard like what's in most of Thailand. I'd like to address the noise issue. Some people say they heard road noise. We never did, but we were in the premium room and I think that makes a difference because the bathroom is at the back of the room, between the road and the bedroom and serves as a buffer. The other rooms, the bathroom is to the side so nothing is between the bedroom and road. Also, next to the resort was a bar with a band that played until midnight some nights. You can hear them in the room, not too bad, but you can hear it. That makes it a good time to go to that bar and hang out, lol. Some people told us the hotel was too expensive but I was rating the cost in comparison to what I'd get in the US, not what I'd get in Koh Lanta, and I found it to be a good price. I give the place thumbs up. There's also a cute hotel cat that lounges on the beach.

Nice and friendly hotel, with great views”
The Andalay Boutique Hotel has a really nice layout. All rooms face the beautiful central garden from their own private terrace. The rooms can be entered through a few stepping stones over a nice pond, which give it a cosy feeling but on the downside it attracts lots of mosquitos. The hotel is right on the beachfront. The beach is good but there are better beaches in Koh Lanta (there are many worse too ...) Along the beach are some good bars and restaurants. The hotel has it own restaurant which is reasonably good but pricey. The bar is good though, it's worth having a cocktail while watching the sunset. Hotel staff is very friendly, but there's little extras considering the quite high price of the rooms. No transfer or transport, and everything that they can arrange for you is double the price you can get yourself. A true boutique hotel would distinguish itself by catering for such things. All in all a good place to stay if you can get a good deal.

Beautiful beach, helpful staff, clean and comfortable accomodation”
The staff was very helpful, friendly and communicative. The resort is quiet, clean and has a simple, elegant atmosphere. The accomodation was clean, comfortable and asthetically appealing. We stayed in one of the beach view rooms, but it seems like all the rooms would be a great location, with views onto the garden/pool area and/or partial beach view. The resort location is great: about mid-island, not in a busy, bustling part of the island, but still near (walking distance) several other restaurants, small resorts, and tour companies. A local night market is about a one minute motor bike ride away, the delicious Salty Fish Restaurant about a 5-7 minute motor bike ride away, the entrance to the national park about 20 minutes, the main town about 20 minutes. And the location on the beach is one of the best. We would definitely consider this resort for a second stay in Koh Lanta.

Small and enjoyable resort”
The staff are attentive although some don't speak/understand much english. Klong Nin beach is great to relax and disconnect, definetly not for partying. Less busy than other beaches to the north. The rooms are clean and confortable. The restaurant food is pretty good and the setting is the best around. Breakfast is good. The discounted rate though Agoda made the price affordable, but if you are looking for luxury maybe is not the right place. Andalay has more of a relaxed laid back atmosphere.

Simply amazing!”
Andalay Resort is the best! It was a first time for my girlfriend and I in Thailand and we were looking for some place nice and low key. Andalay met all of our expectations and then some more. The staff were very attentive and nice. The food from the restaurant is so good. We pretty much ate there breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday. We became friends with the chef and her kids who both work there as well as the rest of the staff. We wanted to order lunch during breakfast even when they didn't have anything prepped, and they were so nice to accommodate our request. The view is spectacular. From our room, we step out and to the left is the restaurant, to the right is the pool and spa and just a few steps past that is the beach. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful beachfront suites. Helpful staff”
We were on a honeymoon and I found this hotel to be our best stay in Thailand. Rooms and hotel is beautifully designed. Loved the bathrooms and lights. It is truly a boutique hotel and resort. Come here for the quiet, loneliness and solitude. My wife found it to be scary at nights outside the rooms - Lanta is lonely and on the top of it we went during the green season. The Staff Wai was very friendly and helpful. Would have loved to extend my stay but had schedule booked ahead. There is no night life or shopping area around and you stay there if you want to experience quietude and solitude and beach.

Beautiful boutique resort”
We loved our 4 night stay - the staff were so friendly, courteous and wanting to always offer help in any way. The resort itself is beautiful, with a clean pool and spa services. It is located in a great part of town (off the main shopping/pier area) but alongside other resorts/hotels. It is on the side with the sandy white beaches and we saw a lot of people walking on the beaches. The restaurant had the best phad see ew I have ever had. The breakfasts that were included with our stay had a great variety and all the fruits were fresh and they made you eggs the way you wanted. Our room was spacious, clean and definitely had hot water. We definitely would stay here again and recommend this place if anyone would like to stay at a romantic, beautiful boutique resort.
