Travelling with teenager”

Small room, but clean and nice. Perfect location - just walking distance from Osaka castle. Entrance to underground being located at the hotel entrance allows to travel everywhere fast and easy. Breakfast was good, but rather Japanese style, so not too good if you are not ready to eat exotic food in the morning. Nice and comfortable onsen was a great place to relax after the long day. And it was opened at least until midnight! There was even Finnish sauna!

Small room, but great bath + delicious breakfast”

the room is tiny; a typical japanese business hotel. that said, the amenities are as nice as "apa" (always pleasant amenities) suggests. the communal bath in the basement is a great way to recover from a day of tourism. also, the buffet breakfast is if bought in advance, and is delicious and very much worth it. the only con is that its location is not particularly central. on the other hand, it's about a 15 minute subway ride from shin-osaka, umeda, or nanba, so you're not completely in the boonies. also, if you're a jogger, the osaka castle park is a great place for a morning jog.

Good place to stay in Osaka”

Location really amazing, literally train station in 15 Steps from entrance and convenience store 50 steps away. Two rows of food stores just 3 mins walk away and Osaka Castle is walk-able distance too. Facilities is sufficient and comfortable, Customer Service was excellent. Breakfast was acceptable. Although some room equipment like aircon looks old, but it's alright. Had a great stay for 10 days.

Hot!”

This place comes with a decent public bath with steam room and all. It's conveniently located near the Osaka Castle and Osaka Museum. Remember to ask for the hotel locality map from the staff! It shows where the good food stalls are.

Great hotel with great location”

I traveled and stayed here for honeymoon trip and it was super good. Just in front of the hotel, there is an access to Tanimachiyonchome station. And next to it, there is convenience store. Plus, you can just walk to Osaka Castle and Osaka Museum of History.

Small and clean, quiet location”

It was excellent. There may be reviews complaining about the SIZE of the rooms? But you're in Japan .... all standard rooms just fit a double bed, desk, and little else. It's the perfect size for two Asian people, or an Asian and a medium sized non-Asian. If you are two rather large foreigners (or are obese), then I suggest you splurge for an upgrade. The rooms are super clean, staff speak minimal English (but enough for Japanese standards). Location is walking distance to Osaka Castle, about a 40 minute walk/15 minute train ride to Dotonburi (where all the nightlife and restaurants are), but there still some very good restaurants and bars nearby. Onsen is excellent (but not if you have tattoos! A big no no in Japanese culture). All in all, an excellent choice.

Nice standard APA location”

As with most APA hotels, they are usually close to the train stations. This one is located just above exit 8 of the Osaka Tanimani -line station. Walkable to the castle and history museum. There is not the hustle and bustle of other 'tourist' zones in Osaka which can be a good and bad thing. Looking for a place to eat and taking a stroll at night may not offer the same kind of excitement as Namba, Tennoji or Umeda. Mainly a residential area the food offerings mainly cater to the after-work business person clientele. Note of caution, the hotel will close seating for breakfast (buffet) when seating is limited and also at night when they have reservations. After a long international flight I didn't want to venture further than the hotel restaurant but it was closed "due to reservations"- and the sign was only in Japanese.

Close the subway”

Close to subway station, but needs to transfer a few times depends on where you are coming from or going. Walkable distance to Osaka Castle. Staffs are great, room is small but clean. Breakfast has lots of choices, Japanese/Western style. If you need a quick snack there's one Family Mart just around the corner. The spa and sauna are a great bonus after a full day of traveling around town. Would stay here again if not traveling with young toddler.

Good hotel for Osaka Castle”

Due to my time constraint, I need to visit the Osaka Castle on the second day morning, so I chose this hotel since it's at one of the nearest metro station to the Osaka castle. It's a right choice. I was first worried about carrying a big piece of luggage to the ground level, but metro staff told me there's an elevator at the exit to the hotel, I felt more relieved then. The hotel is general good, staff are friendly, they borrowed me items as long as they are available. There are dozens of eating place nearby too, including 24hours sukiya.

Impressed”

I thought the hotel was great. The onsen is a nice addition. Location very good, close to the subway and Osaka-Jo Hall/Osaka-Jo Castle. Rooms are small, but I found them to be fine.

Convenient and clean”

The room is small even for Osaka standards but it's location being right beside Tanimachi-4chome subway station makes it ideally convenient

Polite, Good Service & Value for Money”

The location of the hotel is good. We travel from kyoto to osaka station and take the subway to the hotel (JR and the subway station are connected underground). Subway exit 8 is just in front of the hotel. However, the subway exit 8 do not have escalator or lift. There service is good and the room is clean. Room is a bit small but still acceptable (heard this is common in japan).

Nice and comfort”

APA Villa Hotel Osaka located just next to subway station (exit 8), it is so convenient to travel around the Osaka (when staying in this hotel). The room and surronding is so clean that you feel like staying at 4 star hotel. The staffs are friendly and very helpful.

A well located hotel with small rooms”

This hotel is very well located in Osaka. It is right outside exit 8 of Tanimachae 4 subway station. Hotel is clean and well kept although I was disappointed to find a large amount of long black hair in my hotel room loo. I did report this and reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The one downside was that the room is really small even by Japanese standards. It really only was the size of the double bed with a small passage at the side. This was ok for one person but would be too small for two. Worth checking room measurements when booking. Breakfast was very good if looking for an Asian one but as often in Japan there were eggs toast fruit juice and coffee for westerners. I found this quite acceptable as you rarely get fresh fruit with breakfast in mid range Japanese hotels.

very recommend place if you didn't walk for along time from the train stasion. only walk 5 meter from the train station you can get this hotel. the room is small like others hotel in japan. but so far i will recommend this hotel. i will stay here if i go to osaka

Relief after cold days long walk”

APA villa hotel has a tall profile and can be seen from afar. It's like a beacon of comfort after a long days walk when Japanese taxi driver failed to drop you in the right place.

Near train station Tanimachi 4 chome, exit 8 (Remember this: exit 8). Close to Family Mart & 7 eleven. The closest one is Family Mart. Close to Osaka Castle. Room a bit small. Front desk staffs can't speak English.

What you see at Agoda booking page, it about the same. we like as follow: a) Near to subway . about 3 minutes. b) Near Osaka Castle c) If book together with breakfast, it of great value. d) One of the staff able to speak good English. so communication with them is not a problem
