Our stay in Nong Khsi”

We enjoyed our stay at the Asawann although we had to take a tuktuk to most places. They were available and not expensive so that was okay too. The hotel is large, staff friendly and it is close to the shopping centre. We would recommend the Asawann to other travellers. If you want a social life you will have to go to the Mekong river area for that. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good.

Asawann Hotel is nice place to stay.”

We were able to check in at twelve so we could get our rooms and them go to street mall to eat on the river and shop. We were able to stop in the Asawann restaurant and have some beer after we finished shopping. The cental air is a little sluggish on adjusting the room temp. It was good for me and my wife but our friends had a little trouble sleeping a little to warm for them but they keep their house cold all the time. It is an older newly remodled hotel but has great rooms for a good price.

Best Location in Nong Khai”

If your objective is to find a place to park yourself before / after a Lao border crossing, the Asawann is the place to be. It's right next to the 2 big hypermarkets in NK - Tesco and BigC... and has a well-stocked mall selling everything from IT gadgets to books and clothes. Perfect place to stock-up. The hotel room is basic and clean. Breakfast is standard Thai fare with an egg station and good fruits / salad selection in addition to the usual Thai fare served in hotels. Great value. Great location.

Hotel at province border Vs Laos,”

It values with what we paid and location is in Asawann mall ( seems the biggest mall in town ). Arrived late afternoon and check out very early morning so we do not know much about Nongkhai . Hope revisit in future by combining Vs Laos .

No hot water in shower”

This was my third hotel in Nongkhai in 10 days... My main concern about this hotel is two things: The shower had no hot water. Unbeleivable. Well it was 5 degree warmer than cold. But that is not good enough. The internet. My first room was terribly bad. After complaining I got a new room with good speed BUT my two computers could not connect to each other. That is normally done automatically between my two Mac's but here it was not possible to handle. Please note that the staff was excellent in their actions. But the owner is typically saving to much money instead of making the hotel work good. I resigned and left Nongkhai.

for one or two nights in a place like nongkhai the hotel is quite ok and definitely a lot better than e.g. the grand hotel we used beforee that is quite run down, unless it has been renovated in the last year. the bathroom is small indeed, even in the vip room, the breakfast is extremely plain, not recommended. rather go to s coffee shop outside. the staff is. eey friendly, english very limited, almost non existent.

Overall nice, considering it to be in a small town NongKhai. Even I stayed in the suite room, the bathroom is really really small. No tub, but the shower space is very small,

Exceptional”

I had a comfortable stay here - the rooms were very clean and the staff were professional and friendly. The hotel is located right next to Tesco Lotus where there are many food options and shops. On the downsides, the hotel is a not within walking distance from the city centre. Also, the wifi connection was not quite stable.

Fully Refurbished and New Lease of Life!”

I read poor reviews for this hotel in the past but recently it has undergone extensive refurbishment and new management. We stayed in VIP room and it is roomy and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is free Wi-Fi and connection is reliable but a little slow. Some negatives about the room: 1. Shower area very small (but water pressure is good and temperature of shower remains constant). 2. Not too many power sockets is you wish to plug in laptop / phones etc. 3. Small variety offered at breakfast but the quality is good. 2. No in room safety box.

Time for a facelift”

We have stayed at Asawann many times over the past few years.....service and amenities remained constant (but its time for a needed upgrade to keep modern). Breakfast still remains well below standard with still very limited variety....selection did not change for a whole 7 days.

Value for money, great place! Walkable to Assawan Shopping Complex. In the middle to Nong Khai Town Center. Breakfast variety is great. Suitable for our family trip.

Amazing Asawann”

Stayed here for almost 3 weeks. Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Service was excellent . Nothing was too much trouble. Being right next to Tesco and the shops was a real bonus. Would definitely stay here again. Only drawback was the busy road. No traffic noise in hotel but it was hard to walk down to the market. Tut tuks very cheap though so we hog by.
