Great stay”

Stayed in Phi Phi Banyan in Jan 2015 with my boyfriend for 7 nights, we were booked for 5 nights but loved it so much stayed for 2 more. We stayed in the garden villas they are newer and very nice and modern and the staff were friendly. Banyan villas was the only hotel in tonsai that we could see that provided an enclosed sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of tonsai, a lot of other resorts appeared to be very open to the streets this not giving much privacy. The music from the local bars starts about 10pm and finishes about 2am this can be heard from some of the rooms however it was not unbearably loud and it did not keep us awake at night. And was only noticed on the nights we went to bed early! Breakfast was great, and was enjoyed with a view over looking the bay with all the long tails parked up. The pool and garden areas are nice and private and no non guests are allowed on site so you feel very safe. The gym is also great and has a great view. If we come back to phi phi I would certainly stay at the phi phi banyan villas again and would recommend it to my friends and family !

One of the best hotels on island”

We had the most amazing week staying here in Phi Phi. The hotel is just 2 minutes from the pier and easily found. The room was beautiful and always kept very clean with a nice balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. We got free big golf umbrellas to use during our stay (we were so excited having been drenched many times during our time in Thailand ha!) The staff were so helpful in the reception - especially the lovely man who gave us towels every morning. The pool was gorgeous with a few sun loungers round the edge and was never busy - although we never actually used it as we were so busy seeing the island everyday! We had breakfast included and the restaurant area is located looking right over Ton Sai Bay - stunning views every morning, we had to pinch ourselves! The food was fine - pancakes, fruit, cooked breakfast, cereal, yoghurt etc and a member of staff made omelettes and eggs to order. However for the price we payed, we were perhaps expecting slightly more but we really couldn't complain! The restaurant area is the Ton Sai Seafood restaurant in the evening and the hotel give you a discount voucher if you wish to eat there one evening. We did and the food was delicious! Over all an amazing stay, perfect for familys/couples. If we returned here when travelling again we would however stay elsewhere - simply to save money as you spend so little time in your hotel/guesthouse you really dont need to pay much to experience the wonders of Phi Phi.

Nice hotel Great location Friendly staffs”

I would say choosing Phi Phi Banyan Villa is the right choice we made. The hotel is located in the best location, easy to walk to main area with shops, restaurant and only 3 mins walk from the pier. It is only few minutes walk to bar area and loh dalum bay but it is far enough to have a quiet night sleep. Hotel room is nice, clean and the bed is comfortable. After 2-3 dives a day, this bed is all we want in the end of the day. Fitness and pool are in very good condition. Too bad we didn't have a chance to use them. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is normal American breakfast. I would suggest to alter some breakfast choices from time to time. Apart from that, Phi Phi Banyan villa makes our holiday the best one ever.!! Will definitely come back !!!

Great Central Location, especially for divers”

This hotel has a great location, especially for those wanting to dive near Koh Phi Phi. There are approximately six dive shops within a three-minute walk from the lobby. We also found our garden wing room - one of the newer rooms in the back of the resort - to be very quiet and cool throughout the day. The linens were especially clean, the shower was hot, and had plenty of pressure. The staff was very accommodating, including the bellman who brought our bags both to and from the pier. This is especially convenient since there are no motorized vehicles in the middle of Koh Phi Phi. There are plenty of good restaurants all around the hotel, but we also found the hotel restaurant to be a good option, although a bit disorganized when things got busy. The hotel has a small clean pool, but not a lot of sun chairs. The beach is great for looking out at the bay, but is not a swimming or sunning beach. Long tail boats to Maya Bay for swimming and snorkeling can be arranged for approximately 1500 THB per boat. The strength of this hotel is its clean, quiet location close to all of Phi Phi's transportation options.

Great location, super helpful staff”

The villa itself is only 2 min walk away from the Pier. The location is prime in terms of food, 7 eleven shopping all within the area. Breakfast buffet is great with a beautiful view. Long tail boats are all parked there (really suggest private long tail boat ride to all the beautiful bays & lagoons). Slinky beach & all the other party bars are awesome 👏 try go around 830pm to watch the fire dancers. Yesterday was quite a day. I started the morning with nausea 🤢 , stomach pains & ear pain following that I made a mistake & I left an important parcel at Phi Phi Banyan Villa. We had already taken a ferry to the other side of the world. I called in a panic when I realized I had made this mistake & the receptionist calmly informed me that they had already kept aside the parcel & that they would arrange for my parcel to be delivered with the next ferry in a box with our contact details on. Feeling very thankful & grateful that I retrieved the parcel. Thank you for being so efficient! 🙏

Excellent service, friendly, great location”

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the phi phi banyan villa over new years. The service at reception was very good and always friendly. The room with a pool view was excellent, very clean, nice balcony and decorated to a good standard. Directly opposite the hotel is the tonsai sea food restaurant which served excellent sea food with a sea view, everything we ate here was good and as a guest at the hotel we got 10% off the bill over. The hotel was in a great location only a few minutes walk from the pier, it was quiet at night and only a very short walk to all the nightlife, so its there if you want it but will not disturb you at night. This hotel is suitable for everyone, including families. The hotel also has the only gym on the island which is free for guests and also has free internet, I didnt get a chance to use the gym but it looked good. The ground are well maintained.

simple, pleasant, great location!”

if you're going to stay in the tonsai bay area of koh phi phi,you can't do much better than banyan villa. the location is marvelous - right on the pier overlooking the sea, but the rooms and pool are set back in a lovely, well-kept garden so you feel in a bit of an oasis. the rooms are very simple, no frills, but clean and the bed was sooooooo comfy! we stayed in a garden wing room - they have been renovated more recently - so recommended. the breakfast is similar to all thailand breakfasts - simple and yum - the view takes the cake!!! the price is right, location is right, and on this gorgeous isle you prob won't spend too much time in the hotel anyway!!

Great Hotel and we had a brilliant 8 days here”

Really nice Hotel. I have been to Phi Phi 3 times now so I think I have a good idea about places to stay. The Banyan Villa is defo the best accommodation I have stayed on the island. Really great location, really clean rooms, very nice gardens etc. Brilliant Gym and i have to say it puts most gyms in London to shame as it is really clean and to have a work out whilst looking over Ton Sai bay was amazing!!... Only slight criticism is they could of kept the pool cleaner and fished out the leaves and dead flies each morning. Breakfast wasn't the greatest but that is pretty standard in all hotels in the touristy areas. Its obviously not the cheapest but in our budget was very good value for money. Would def recommend staying here.And I am sure next time i go to Phi Phi, this is where I will no doubt stay again!!

Our Favourite Hotel on Phi Phi”

My wife and i have been travelling to Phi Phi since 2000 and we have stayed in many different hotels over the years. This is now consistently our favourite and we have already used it many times. It is on the 'Quite' side of the island (you cannot hear the Hard Core Dance music from the Pool Parties and Bars on Laudalum Bay), and yet it is very central to the heart of the island. Breakfast looking out over Ton Sai Bay is a delight and they have an excellent grill every evening. The Hotel Grounds are beautifully landscaped with Shrubs and Bonsai Trees. The Gym is very large and well equipped. The rooms are nicely decorated and well maintained. We will definitely use this hotel on our next visit.

Fantastic location”

This is our 3rd visit to Phi Phi and our 1st to the Banyan Villas. We choose this hotel for its location and it didn’t disappoint us. We were welcomed as we arrived with a refreshing drink. The rooms were nice and a lovely powerful walk in shower. We didn’t get time to use the pool and gym but they looked ok. The staff were superb and when I lost my ferry ticket home they emptied a full bin and bin liners and found it for me. The breakfast was in the beachfront restaurant which was an absolutely perfect setting. We also had our evening meal which again was lovely. It is 2 mins walk to the centre of the night life, and the pie, but we didn’t hear any noise in our room. Overall I would definitely stay here again even though I thought it a little over priced.

Nice resort with a swimming pool and a fitness center”

This was my second stay in the Phi Phi Banyan Villa Hotel. This is a resort with good facilities. The area surrounding the pool and gardens is well maintained. Guests have the feeling of staying in the countryside, surrounded by exotic greenery. The fitness center is a high-level, entrance fee is included in the price of accommodation. Non-hotel guests have to pay 400 baht per 1 entry. The breakfast and hotel restaurant are also good. The only improvement I would appreciate for future stay, is WIFI: it is weak and often falls in the Garden Wing rooms.

Decent place to stay and enjoy Phi Phi Island”

The hotel complex is quite big for Koh Phi Phi. The receptionist was very nice and the ceck-in procedure was fast. Breakfast was included. The garden and the pool area are nice and well maintained. There are 2 wings with rooms: Banyan Wing and Garden Wing. We stayed in the Banyan one because it was the only one available and was a bit disappointed. The room looked old, the furniture was damaged and the refrigerator very old. It seemed like pieces of furniture of different sort were put together to build up the room. The bed and towels were clean and changed every day. The toillet looked like it will easily break into pieces. I heard that the Garden wing is better, but haven't seen it, so I don't know. You could get clean beach towels from the hotel each day, but had to return them until 8:00 pm. The breakfast was basic but enough to start the day. All in all, it may not be the best, and for what you get it is quite expensive, but since there are not too many options for Koh Phi Phi accomodations, if your not into backpackers hostels, than it can be an ok choice.

Lovely Hotel, Great Locatiom, Fab Gym”

a short walk from phi phi pier (which was a relief)- a hotel rep met us at the pier and walked us to the hotel and he was very friendly and welcoming. the reception staff were helpful and friendly throughout the stay. there was a good breakfast selection and the restaurant is right on the front of ton sai bay which was beautiful. the hotel is right in the centre of all the shopping and only 5 mins away from the bars - but far enough away not to hear anything. the gym is huge, very modern and has fantastic views of the jungle, harbour and resort. the rooms very nice and very confortable.

Very good value at resort hotel”

Banyan Villa has a great beachside location with a magnificent Banyan tree and pleasing large entrance pavilion. The pool is cool and so pleasant on the eye (as good as the online pictures). The rooms are wood paneled and have an old-world feel. Breakfast was excellent. The only downsides I can mention relate to the facilities. When we checked in our upstairs room was at (93F/34C) and it took 4+ hours to cool to the mid 80s (29C). Why? The entire ceiling was like a hotplate - I imagine still air in the attic had super-heated and it took a long time to cool. But it did eventually cool down, and we enjoyed our stay. Others have mentioned broken tiles around the pool. When you see them you'll realize they are far too thin to be used as a weight-bearing platform. Oh well. Still I think we got really good value for our money and enjoyed our stay in Phi Phi.

Great base for phi phi ”

After reading the mixed reviews for the Banyan I wasnt expecting much, however this hotel was great the pool was lovely and always quiet. The rooms where clean and had good air con a bit dated decor but clean and tidy. A great hotel for phi phi would recommend it, with phi phi the prices are more than elsewhere in Thailand and you get less for your money so if you want a clean hotel in a good spot and don't want to spend a fortune then stay there. The hotel also has wifi and a really good gym.

Great room, Great pool on quieter side of phi phi ”

Pur stay at Banyan was amazing, great staff, lovely hotel rooms were clean spacious and great value for money! We were 2 girls travelling together and liked that we were close enough to the other bays nightlife but far enough away to not hear any noise through the night...so we could get a good nights sleep to do all the trips in the day time. There's loads of things to do on phi phi especially boat trips to other beaches and diving spots. The phi phi viewpoint is also worth the walk up to, at sunset the view is breathtaking.

Great Hotel in the hub of Phi Phi”

Banyan Villa is well located for all the amenities on Ko Phi Phi. It is situated between 4 busy streets, but the layout, with the buildings situated around the perimeter of the plot give the resort a quiet and peaceful courtyard with a pool and sun loungers. Use of the gym is a bonus. Breakfast is good and ton sai fish restuarant is of a high standard. The rooms are very nice and kept clean and you can have a balcony that looks over the quiet courtyard. excellent hotel overall.

Great location and nice service”

The Banyan Hotel is right in the heart of Phi Phi village, close to all the restaurants and about a 2-3 minute walk from the pier. The staff is very nice and friendly. The breakfast included is at the restaurant next door that overlooks the beach/bay. They have a really nice fitness center on the property. The only negative is the lack of in room free WiFi. Most hotels have this feature these days and the Banyan should get on board. They claim to have free WiFi in the gym area, but in the 4 nights that we were there, it rarely if ever worked.

Good location”

Sorry, the previous review was of wrong property as we stay in different place during this trip. As for Phi Phi Banyan Villa, it has a good location which is minutes walk from the pier. The hotel is facing the beach at Tonsai Bay while escaping the party noise at Loh Dalum Bay. You could enjoy the breakfast with seaview. Last but not least, the staffs are very nice and helpful.

Nice rooms, helpful employees and perfect location”

I liked my stay at the Phi Phi Banyan Villa Hotel. The location is perfect, 5 minutes walking from the port and the restaurant is next to the beach. The employees are also very nice and helpful. They helped me with my electricity plug, organized guided walks to ticket centers for boot tours and charged my iphone and ipod when I had to wait 4 hours for my boat to leave the final day and already checked out my room.
