Five Star Stay in a family owned resort/hotel! ”
My friend and I were lucky enough to stay at Rantee Cliff Beach Resort due to flash deal on Agoda! We knew we wanted to stay on Koh Phi Phi and we left wanting to stay longer! Rantee Cliff offers an affordable, clean, and an authentic experience on Koh Phi Phi. A short 20 minute longtail boat from the Pier. My friend and I stayed both in their beach front bungalow and ocean view birds nest luxury room. The hotel/resort has been open for nearly a year and has the potential to go so far! Mrs. Thing, her husband, and the staff truly work hard to make their guests feel comfortable and well taken care of. They should be nearly done building their "All Teak Bar and Lounge." Sign up for their private longtail to hop the islands...totally affordable! I will definitely be visiting them again.

Beautiful resort”
We had an amazing time at Phi Phi Rantee. There was a man waiting on the dock holding a sign with their hotel name on it. He let us know their boat would be there in 5 minutes and we rode out to the resort in about 10-15 minutes. It is away from all the hustle and bustle of Phi Phi and very beautiful and quiet. The beach is BEAUTIFUL! And there was snorkeling right there on their beach. you can get the snorkel gear from the front desk. Of our 2 week stay in Thailand, our favorite food was at this resort, it was delicious and everyone working was very nice and helpful. Our ocean view bungalow was made entirely of bamboo. At first we were a little nervous that it wouldn't hold our weight or stay very cool but the AC worked nicely and we fell in love with the bungalow. I would highly recommend this place!

Paradise Away from the Party”
The stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff were extremely friendly and were even kind enough to make us breakfast when we got the times mixed up and got there as they were starting to clean up. The room was beautiful and kept up to a great standard, we were surprised there was no TV however it was also nice to have the time to relax with each other rather than fill the silence with a TV. It was great to be able to use the kayaks and the snorkelling gear and they were really helpful with getting us sorted and it was super cheap. The restaurant had beautiful food although it was quite expensive, there was a restaurant at the next resort that was more reasonably priced and the complimentary breakfast did not have a large range of options, however it was still very good quality food and was delicious. It was also really easy to check out with the hotel providing a free shuttle transfer back to the phi phi ferry as soon as we checked out. Overall had a fantastic time and absolutely loved the hammocks on the beach!

The food is wonderful ,freshly prepared on the spot. FYI the beach bungalow was so nice.wake up, look at your toes and the beach is the backdrop, REALLY? Wow! Men you can't loose with your girl. Excellent”
The Cove is a hidden Gem in Phi Phi, a relaxing break combined with boat access to the very touristy area (20mins away) if you want to do more activities/night out. Hotel staff were excellent - with a strong family vibe. Food and Drink were great - especially the cocktails. (Please note that when booking your nights stays you should consider the Ferry timings from Phuket/Krabi as we overbooked by two nights by mistake)

Fantastic! Perfect getaway on this island”
We loved this place! The beachfront bungalow was perfect. Everything was very clean. Phi Phi can be very crowded, so this place felt very secluded. The restaurant had a wide variety of delicious food. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. You can easily book a long tail boat to take you to a different beach or go back to Tonsai Pier. I cannot day enough about how much I loved this place. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful, tranquil setting. Stunning beach views”
We stayed over Christmas & had a wonderful time. It was exactly what we wanted - quiet, stunning scenery & beautiful beach. The staff put on a brilliant evening on Christmas Eve with great food, Thai dancing & Christmas games. After a week though we were ready to leave as there is very little to do on this part of the island & rantees restaurant is the only place to eat. There are 2 bars further up the beach but food not great in the one we tried one evening. The last long boat from phi phi village is at 5.15pm so it means you would have to take a chance with a local taxi boat to get back if you wanted to stay in the village any later&they don't always like to go round to rantee if the sea is choppy which is quite often.

Sure will come back”
It's a nice location if you want a very quiet place to rest and relaxing. It's isolated from phi phi island and you have a private beach to enjoy. Dont stay here if you want to be close to main attractions. The staff were sooo friendly and grateful. The ataff took the time to get get to know all his guest. Good a good restaurant with fabulous food.. Surely will come back..

Lovely location, beach huts and staff! ”
I 100% recommend this place. Lovely beach and beach huts, with beautiful reef for snorkelling. The Manager Pelle made the experience from a good one into a great one! Great friendly staff with good food and even better cocktails. Have been to Phi Phi twice now and this is by far my favourite place that I’ve stayed over both trips.

Wonderful Area - Location Not Ideal”
I will start by saying that The Cove Phi Phi and the island in general is absolutely stunning. The resort is quite small with its own restaurant, beach, and kayak. The staff is very nice with limited English. The resort is designed for residents to come and truly not leave. But we did not expect that, so if you want to see the rest of the island or go out to popular bars, then don't stay here. You have to pay around 200-400 baht each person to travel back and forth (another 400 baht) to the mainland to really do anything which can be really expensive if you're there multiple days. You feel very trapped, especially at night. So if you are not there with a significant other, then i wouldn't suggest this. They don't provide a feasible or reasonable transportation. They have their own boat that leaves at 8am and 12am everyday, but nothing for the way back or at NIGHT. Again, you feel trapped, but the resort is very quaint. Also 4 kittens roam the resort and are just adorable. just saying.

An okay place for a specific kind of traveller”
We knew this hotel was located away from the main town on Phi Phi, which was part of it's appeal, but we did not realise just how isolated it would be. The three days/two nights we spent here experienced bad weather, which made the hotel almost unreachable, the waves were so choppy the hotel boat had trouble getting here and was quite a scary ride. Because of the weather our plans of lying on the hotel's nice quiet beach the whole time were also out of the question, as the beach was dark, gloomy and rocky - unsuitable for swimming. Without the beach there is literally nothing to do here, so I would not recommend unless you can be sure the weather is going to be pristine. The high price of a boat to the mainland is absurd (800-1000 THB one way, when we paid only 750 TBH for a two hour ferry ride to Phi Phi from Krabi). The restaurant is also very average, which is your only choice for dining and you're stuck with as the boat is too infrequent, expensive or dangerous (weather depending) to travel regularly between the main part of town. The rooms themselves are gorgeous in a very stripped down natural way and are nice if you like to experience bare basics in a more traditional Thai setting. I unfortunately had food poisoning the entirety of our stay (from a restaurant on Tonsai Bay, not the hotel) so did not leave the room, which was not a great place to be with only basic bathroom facilities, a hard mattress and no TV. However, if you don't share my bad luck then these rooms are beautiful and very romantic for a couple. The beach front/ocean view rooms are of much higher standard and will be worth the extra price. The service was just okay, although a special mention to one of the managers who was incredible when I got sick, making me special Thai herbal remedies and giving me ORS and charcoal pills that aren't available at the hotel mini-mart. Overall, recommend this hotel for one or two nights for couples who are prepared to enjoy a very stripped back experience,

Total relaxation ”
What a wonderful place to have a couple of days to relax! Staff were ever so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you! As it is about a 20 minute taxi boat away from main phi phi area, it’s a fantastic place to forget about everything and have some time out. Loved our couple of days stay! Thank you to all of the staff at the cove.

Unforgettable trip”
There was welcome drink provided. My boyfriend and i reached rantee beach in the noon. The weather was too hot. Suggest to have a fan in the room. Even tho the air-conditioning was working, but its kinda stuffy. They provided half day and one day trip to other island with reasonable price. Gentle reminder: the one day trip and half day trip start at 9am. We woke up early trying to reach the cove to join the afternoon trip, but we only knew that it was only available in the morning. Very nice view near the restaurant. There is no other water activities near the beach. But you can take alot of photos there.

Terrible location”
If your going phi phi to experience the phi phi night life and all the hustle and bustle then I would highly recommend not staying here. The only way to the hotel is by taxi boat and it cost 1000 THB one way in the day and 4000 THB to get back to the hotel past 12. There is nothing atall near the hotel so nothing to do or go. But apart from the location it is an ok hotel and staff where ok but could be better.

Need check some reviews carefully before reserve”
I did check some reviews before reserve, so I wasn't surprised. But let me add some new information. When we got to Ko Phi Phi Tonsai bay, the hotel staff was waiting at the bridge and take us to the hotel by taxi boat for free. Checking in and out (8:30, 12:00 only), the taxi boat between the hotel and Tonsai bay is for free. Other customer can take these boat from the hotel to Tonsai bay without checking out, but it cost 200THB/person. Other boat cost 800THB/boat. From Tonsai bay, taxi boat fee is depends on the whether, sea condition. I paid 1000THB/boat at night a bit bad condition. When the passenger take and get off the boat, had to walk in the sea. The shower was a bit weak, but totally here was really quiet and confortable.

Relaxing & Beautiful Getaway”
Pros: Gorgeous location (even more beautiful than the pictures!), a private beach, delicious food and drinks at the on-site restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, free snorkeling gear and an incredible reef right there at the hotel, somewhat secluded and away from the party scene near Ao Tonsei Pier, and they have a convenience store with a limited but sufficient selection of drinks and snacks. You can also schedule boat, snorkeling, and fishing tours directly with the hotel. Cons: Because of a storm, the WiFi was out for a few days of our stay, but they fixed it as quickly as they could. The WiFi in the rooms is spotty and fairly weak/slow but the WiFi in the restaurant/reception is good. Our AC went out around 2 am one morning and there was no one at the front desk until sun up. They did promptly move us to a different room with working AC. Overall, this was the nicest vacation I’ve taken and I will definitely stay at The Cove again!

Great little relaxing beach. ”
The beach is great and just sitting there looks like paradise. The little bamboo house are ok. Ki mean need yo keep ij mind it's a bamboo house on a beach. It's not a concrete hotel in the city so you cannot complain about mosquito or noise or whatever. It's nature just sit and relax. It's a nice place for 1-2 days of relaxing. If you are looking for a short romantic getaway or just quiet relaxing this is great. If you want something else, look somewhere else. Getting there it's not so easy. Either you go in the morning and come back with the staff after lunch which would be free or you can take a boat at any hour but it will br about 500baht. Everywhere around Phi Phi the boats are very expensive which it's not nice. Paying 500 baht for a super short trip with an wood boat it's too much. The foodfood eqs nice but again a litexpensive. After dark very quiet. But overall a nice experience.

Perfect if you are looking for privacy!”
Phi Phi Rantee Cliff Resort is perfect if you are looking for privacy. We spent 2 nights over Valentines Day in one of the Ocean View Cliff Villas which was very charismatic with a great view. We did spot a cockroach in the bathroom but it ran down a crack and wasn't seen again. Our first night was a bit of a disappointment after realising that the only place you can really eat at is the Resort Restaurant which was full of young screaming children. The food was good, despite it taking over 2 hours to arrive! The next morning we woke up, had breakfast, and caught the free longboat service at 7am to the main beach where we booked a private 6 hour longboat round all the islands (highly recommended) which dropped us back at the resort in time for dinner which was a much better experience than the night before (arrived promptly and was much quieter). Experienced a few short power cuts on the last night which were a bit scary but only lasted about 5 mins max!

Christmas Holiday in PP”
We loved staying at the cove. The restaurant/bar is fantastic. It is a short 15minute boat taxi to this location. If you are trying to do the nightlife in PP be warned that the taxi companies work together to charge you outrageous rates to get back to The Cove late in the evening or early in the morning. We avoided this and made our own cocktails on the beach at The Cove and met some very nice travelers and had a blast. The mosquitos are pretty bad but the gift shop sells the best repellant. The bed was comfortable enough. The wifi was not great but worked well enough for our needs. We were able to book a Maya Bay excursion with the friendly front desk team. They picked us up at 4:45am to get there for sunrise. This place is great! It was really relaxing.
