Best Ryokan with excellent service and delicious food.”
I was a solo female traveler and i would like to recommend this place to everyone. It located in a safe and quiet area. Easy to go to every tourist places like pagoda, temples and Nara park. Staffs were nice, friendly and speak very well English. The most amazing part were breakfast and dinner. They served all the good qualities food. They served A5 beef both 2 night of my dinner, and also offered many season items. I love authentic Japanese food and i was not disappointed. I staryed at many hotels and Ryokan but this place is one of the most impressive place I've ever stay.

Exceptional”
The hotel opened its roof for guests to watch the annual 若草山山焼き (Wakakusa Yamayaki). Wonderful view! Add on top of that sophisticated meals, spacious room, serene environment and passionate staff... perfect stay!

Great service, great dinner, great breakfast, and great room!”
The room was beautiful. The outdoor public bath has a very nice view of the pagoda. Both dinner and breakfast were of very high quality. Everything tasted good! Just a 10-minute walk from Kintetsu-Nara station.

Ryokan style hotel”
The hotel is not very new. But I didn't go to Nara to look for modern stuff, so Asukasou works very well for me and my family. They offer traditional Ryokan room and service. Hotel staff are nice. They made some mistakes but they made it up with really good attitude and even gave us gifts to apologize.

Great Experience ”
We had a great time in Nara and this hotel was a big part of the reason. The food was excellent and it was great using the onsen at the end of the day.

Nice ryokan”
Very nice and clean ryokan. Staff are very friendly and polite. I booked the one that comes with breakfast and kaseiki dinner and with private bath. Though it's expensive but worth it.

Staff were exceptional!”
The staff at Asukasou are absolutely lovely and should be commended. We were dissapointed as our room smelt terribly bad of cigarettes so bad that my partner had a sore throat upon leaving. We had to book a private onsen as one of us is heavily tattooed, this isn’t a huge deal but should have been mentioned in the hotels guidelines or somewhere on their website before booking (we had to pay extra for the private onsen). The traditional breakfast is a lovely idea and was included in the cost however it certainly is not for everybody. All in all we would not return to this hotel purely as we don’t think it is very good value for money. If you are a smoker and don’t have tattoos you will probably love it!

Delicate Japanese style hotel, with friendly staff”
This nice small hotel let me sense the true flavor of Japanese flavor, tatami, Japanese tea / dessert, and especially the open bath with Pagoda view left me great impression. Staff are hospitable and friendly, some old female staff wearing kimono makes feel like making costume drama.

Good location and big room”
The location and room are good. One 'unpleasant' incident happened just before dinner was served in the room. The waitress did knocked on the door once, I answered, but she didn't wait for me to open the door and used the master key to unlock and come into the room herself, I was shocked and disturbed, though she apologized.

Horrible!”
This was the first time i experienced a hotel in dark after 11.00pm, all corridors lights off except lobby, it's horrible! This is a hotel renovated from an old Japanese mansion, very traditional feels, however it's really spooky when in dark!

Lovely, Relaxing, local cultural experience”
Great in every way but, like all Ryokan's, overpriced. We got a great last minute deal which made it slightly better value for money.
