Only Place I Stay in Mumbai ”

This place is awesome... no better location in Mumbai. So much within walking distance. The staff is very helpful and are always available. The common area makes you want to stay in and kick back. No time for that because theres always a field trip so you can get to experience Mumbai like a local. Garage, the bar behind the property is great too, elegant, layback, and affordable. The property has its own security and you feel safe no matter what time you come back from an outing... will definitely stay at Backpacktor Panda again on my next visit to Mumbai!

I stayed at backpacker panda colaba for more than 2 weeks, The hostel is clean and the staff is very friendly and reliable. They even have a terrace with games and books for everyone. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to discover south bombay and I would definetely stay here again!

Nice hostel with amazing staff!”

The hostel is located in a charming and calm street, in Colaba which is a nice area to stay. It has common area and a rooftop to chill at night with music. The room are equipped with lockers under the bed, AC, and fan. They clean the whole hostel (terrace, common area, rooms, bathrooms) everyday and it is really clean at any time! The staff is so nice, always ready to help you and they smile a lot! A special thanks to Shubham for his helpful advice! I would definitely come back here if I ever come back to Mumbai :)

Clean toilet and recommended.”

I recommend this hostel if you want to do sightseeing in south Mumbai. If you want to see things in Mid or North Mumbai, I don't recommend as you will spend a lot of time in the traffic. (But I think they have one in the north). The toilet was clean. I saw the staff member really spending time cleaning it every morning. If the management of this hostel sees this review, please praise the staff. The reception was helpful. Poova (I believe this is her name. The girl from Mangalore with glasses) helped me with train tickets. In summary, I am happy with this hostel.

Nice place to stay in South Mumbai”

The location is wise. Just a few steps away from Colaba Causeway Market and 10 minutes walk to India Gate and Taj Hotel. The area is clean and peaceful. I really enjoyed my stay here. The size of room (private room) is sufficient for 2 people and toilet is clean. Recommended if the property could provide iron. And if u wanna go to the airport make sure to leave the hostel 4 hours before the flight. We experienced a 1hr 45 mnts traffic on 26km journey. Luckily we didn’t missed our flight. The tv inside the room didn’t provide local channel. Only if u plugged in ur cable through your phone to watch movies etc.

Great location/good options”

Location in Colaba is perfect for those wanting to see major historical attractions and those wishing to just wander around feeling daily life. Good access to local transport too. Has rooms ranging from dorms to private rooms. As older backpacker I appreciate the privacy of the room but also the social vibe of the roof area and the common area on 4th floor with its guitars and games etc. the stairwells and lift retain and old world charm adding to the ambience. Also it’s not just foreigners here. Local tourists and even some Indians on work assi*nments etc. I would stay here again.

It's easy to socialize”

Many traveler from all over the world and specious common room, also security is good! I had good three days in Mumbai in this hostel. And Staffs are very friendly and reliable .they tell us how to explor around this city There is a little of toilet and shower room though, I'll definitely come back this hostel next time!!

Nice place to stay in Colaba”

The location is very good, it just at the corner of Colaba shopping street where you can find lot of eating places nearby besides shopping. It's 10 minutes walk to the Taj Palace hotel and Gateway of India. The double room that I stayed is very huge and the bed is very comfortable. I like the toilet because it is very modern and the water pressure is big where I can enjoy a good shower. There is a common area at level 4 where you can spend time there chatting with other guests or enjoy a quiet moment there reading a book. Most of the staff I met are youngsters but sorry to say not all of them are friendly. I am lucky to meet a front desk staff who provided me the details on the refund on my last night cancelation due to my returned flight was canceled. The only thing that I would like to highlight is why late check out even with additional changes for double room is not allowed? It will be concenient for those who catch a night flight.

1. Staffs are always maintaining the cleanness. 2. Staffs encourage travelers to join their activities. And helpful as well 3. Strong Air conditions 4. Hot showers in clean bathrooms 5. Attached filter water 6. Location is in the southern area of Mumbai. 7. Common area is located at top floor. I think they just finished building this area.

Modern and clean Hostel”

During my stay in India it was the best hostel so far. Clean kitchen, clean bathroom (daily cleaning of the room), friendly staff, fast WiFi, modern design, great location to visit Mumbai...

Great place to stay for first time in Mumbai ”

Nice hostel for visiting Mumbai. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Good AC keeps the rooms nice and cool. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Common areas are ok, kitchen is small and not very clean so wouldn’t recommend cooking but ok for making yourself a coffee

Great location easy to main sites”

Great local cafes with local food plus the famous ones (leopolds). Nice common room woth books, guitar, foosball, and lots of games that breaks the ice with people. Friendly reception staff. I would really recommend going to the south docks at 6.30am, the hostel didnt say so but the hostel is really nearby and its much different to others I have seen in asia...wear old clothes though or ones you dont want to wear again as the smell really does stick. We did the walking tour by ourselves for just 10 rupees (subway return ticket) as it was closed for the festival, its that close to everything!

Perfect for single travelers”

Thanks for a great stay. I really like the beds which are big enough, comfortable and give a bit of privacy. The big lockers for a plus. Unfortunately some guests still preferred to make a huge mess in the whole room.. also, it would be great to have more toilet alternatives (I think not all the guests are informed about 3 walk-in bathrooms on the 4th floor and queue only for the one in the 8-person room in my case). I love the breakfasts in the terasse with a great view. Big thank you :)

Cool place to stay in Colaba”

Stayed here with a mate - it's reasonably new, clean and has good common areas to hang out and meet people. While Colaba isn't the most central place to stay in Mumbai it was a cool place to check out for a few days.

Very helpful staff”

It's a very good city hostel, with wonderful staff and lovely nigh-watchman. Perfect location. They keep the place clean but a very strong scent of chemicals in the bathroom and the room was a little bothering. We stayed at the private room which is placed next to the common area, there was a lot of noise during the evening, people playing loud music - I can't blame them but we wanted to get some rest and we had to make them quiet, so if you want to relax ask for a quiet room.

Good enough accommodation my ear Gateway of India”

The hotel was clean, there was a lift, and the location was perfect However, the staff was not very flexible, they were strict about checking in time, and wouldn't give rooms even if they were available. They were also inflexible w.r.t. checking out time, saying that we would be charged if staying longer than check-out time. I do not have a problem with that, but then they also have to do their bit. We were a big group and by the time the last room was ready, it was hours after check in time. They are obviously not used to having big groups because we also had to wait a very long time for breakfast
