Exceed my expectation on such a lovely hotel... skeptical at first on the high rating given by others, however still give it a try due to low price... Greeted by a trainee when check in and she always put on a smiles. Good job! Room is exceptional clean and new feeling. Breakfast is simple such as fried rice, fried kway teow, chicken sausage, porridge, bread, cereal and fruit. Plus point is that there is an egg station to make your scrambled, sunny side up egg on the spot which is good enough for me. Location would be abit inwards thus if you going to KSL or city square, just use Grab or Taxi. Otherwise, by driving definitely is convenient due to huge free parking space below the hotel. At the carpark, easily to locate the lift to the hotel unlike previously commented by others. However the door to the lift at the carpark is closed 11pm and supposedly to be open by room card but practically can't. Thus need to climb 2storey stair to the hotel lobby to take the lift to my room. Less than 5 mins walk to a stretch of eatery places. The only negative would be the wall is not really soundproof, easily able to hear people walking outside or talking. Thank you Team Baguss and keep up the good job! See u soon!

Great value for money at a great location”

This hotel is located just a few kilometres away from the heart of of the city, but it is cheaper than all the hotels in the city centre, hostels and dormitories notwithstanding. The location where it is situated, Taman Pelangi, isn't shabby either and there are numerous eateries, bars, pubs, and shopping malls nearby. Plaza Pelangi which supposedly has Johor Bahru's best array of IT shops (JB's version of Lowyat) is less than 10 minutes' walk away. The room itself was fairly clean (the beds appeared to be spotless), above what I would normally expect in this price range, and the bathroom comes with heated water and is fairly large as well. There is WiFi although it broke down on my first night there. The channels on the TV are only local free channels as far as I could tell. All in all, a very decent place to stay if you're conscious of your budget and aren't too fussy about the facilities and other minor details.

It is a privilege on my part to commend Baguss Hotel and Serviced Apartment. Overall, the service was excellent. Staff were outstanding and welcoming to every needs and wants of the guests. They tried their very best to cater the best hospitality and kindness to each one of us. Although, the place/amenities can improve more, i believe that the staff attitude compensate to the overall appearance of the hotel. Keep up the excellent job.

This is an apartment that have been converted into hotel. The parking space safe because have guard on duty 24hours a day. Check in also fast and easy. Deposit RM100. Hotel clean and comfortable. Have hair dryer , mirror , safe box and mini refrigerator. Quite amaized with the price and all the facilities. Absolutely will stay again. Thanks baguss !

Good place for short break”

This is my 2nd time in this area althought i always use Baguss whenever i am in JB because of is price and rooms. Rooms are not bad specious and clean. There was only few incident in 1 day of stay my neighboring was having a argument of some sort which scares me a but it was done after a few minutes . It wake me up because of that incident. but so far may stay still great i was able to sleep and rest the needed time . i will always used this hotel in my visit to jb because it accessibility and nearby food shop and near to places i want to go.

Good Value and excellent front & mid office staff”

Gordon is the property manager, a very amicable & pleasant gentleman His staff at the front office Kim and Shan are excellent Efficient in check in & out and happy to meet any requests Kim helped me with a business matters I had to deal with, despite the property not having a formal business center, nothing I asked was too much for Kim to assist with Ferris manages the back office & was happy to oblige with housekeeping requests during my stay Having stayed at the Berjaya Waterfront, New York, Puteri and Baguss City. I have stayed at this hotel before & will return to this property when in Johor. The rooms are spacious & clean, with a large fridge, decent bathroom (particularly the hot water & shower pressure) It is unfortunate that City Villa who run the swimming pool have neglected the upkeep & the pool has been out of commission for many months. Desmond & the management at Baguss are unable motivate City villa to reopen the pool, This is only a minor point.

Great Hotel for Bussines Traveler but Bad Security Service”

I always choose Baguss Hotel Taman Pelangi everytime I have to work outstation. but todays experience is the worst where I have to faced overly stricted female security staff at parking area. I have trouble to drive out my car when the female staff/ indian / age 30-40 is frequently asking for pass even though I put visitor pass on dashboard. she insisted to see the small piece of paper that she gave me yesterday. if you're really take charge for visitor coming in and out the hotel, you should gives us a decent pass proper piece of card rather than small piece of paper. Dissappointed with securty staff. please fix your security system.

I've been staying at Baguss a lot of time, and it's really value for money. It's quite close to the city center and yet quite peaceful, away from the bustling traffic. The staff are friendly enough and the hotel and rooms are clean. Breakfast is very limited but at least you won't have an empty stomach to start your day. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

The hotel can easily access to johor bharu town and johor bharu kastam to singapore by transport. Room cleanliness and price are good. But the check in and check out procedures are too too slow.

1. Value for money. For the price i pay , very happy with the room. 2. Although the hair dryer not functioning , can ask them for replacement. 3. The room spacious and clean. 4. Staf very friendly and helpful. Always smile. 4. The location also strategic. Near to city. Hotel infront cimb and around 500 m from plaza pelangi. 5. Safety. Guard on duty 24 hours a day. The lift area also locked after 11pm and only can access using room keycard.

Generally, it was good. But Baguss hotel is a new hotel, so it's difficult for taxi driver to access. Travellers should use MyTeksi to book taxi rather than ask receptionist to do so

Worth It”

Im not sure why there are negative reviews when I honestly like everything about this hotel, just don’t expect much despite the price u paid for it. I mean if u are that fussy, u can go for better hotel with extra money du’uh. The breakfast is pretty decent, love the American Breakfast (served hot from the pan)! The staffs are friendly, the room is perfect for small family. I will definitely come back to this hotel on our next trip.

Nice hotel to stay with a very friendly staff”

The hotel was good and value for money. I've booked 3 rooms but they changed it to 1 Apartment with 3 bed-rooms. Before they want to change, they asked us to see the apartment first. I'm very satisfied with the service that the staff gave to us.

Best hotel for budget travellers. The room is big. They are serving breakfast buffet, though foods are so so, still very good for its cost. They have good housekeeping services, location is accessible to the city center. Will definitely book this again.

Price : very reasonable Breakfast : since rm10/pax you can't expect much. Not that much but still acceptable Location: 5 minutes drive to the town. Easy to find and walking distance to the bank/atm Parking Access: spacious and got enough parking lot Staff : Customer Service wise was fine. Staff named Nass and Kim were very helpful. But housekeeping side need to improve in terms of cleaning the room. They didn't even vacuum the room and wash the toilet during room make up. Facilities : room is furnished with fridge, flat screen TV, good functioning air-condition, kettle, mineral water, instant coffee with mugs and chair. water supply and pressure were good. Toilet quite spacious. The elevator is OK. Can't fit many people at the same time. Security : parking lot got security guard, and need to scan card/insert password in order to enter the elevator area if coming from the parking side. Entertainment : if you are non Muslim or love to hangout at the pubs, there are few pubs also

Pros- 1) Good security at the carpark 2) Friendly staff 3) Swift check in and out 4) Finally my room key able to open the hotel lift door after 11pm ( previously can't and i need to climb the tall stair) Cons- 1) Unable to connect to wireless on 1st day. 2) TV in my room have sound but project very blur image. So no point watching TV. 3) 1st time was not able to order egg at their live egg station. Totally defeat my purpose on having breakfast. Since their breakfast key highlight to me is the live egg station!!! 4) No spoon No fork and bowl for the porridge...No Coffee, no bread , no refill of breakfast... So leave me with a sad breakfast with only watermelon. Consider the worst breakfast i ever taken during their countless of stay previously. To the management of Baguss, Kindly reinstate the live egg station and availability of utensil and bowl, otherwise, this will be the last time i will be staying with your hotel after so many years of loyal customer.

worth for money”

i have been always stay in baguss everytime i came to jb. Even the outlook is not look like 4 star hotel but the room is def a 4star. Clean and comfy. The bed is always the awesome part for me. super omfortable for me. Recently, my stay was being upgraded to family room when i actually book on deluxe queen. highly recommend!
