Great breakfast but small rooms and mosquitoes ”

We stayed 3 nights in Bahagia. The rooms were a bit small for our liking, but their free breakfast (buffet style) was awesome with lots of variety. The hotel only offers free wifi in the lobby, when we reached the hotel, their free wifi in the lobby didn't work but the owner's daughter gave us 2 free wifi coupons (worth 10 RM each) to use in our rooms. Our only complain is that the hotel had lots of mosquitoes both in the lobby and rooms, other than that everything was great. If you're planning to come to Langkawi then I suggest you stay in Cenang beach area instead of Kuah as it's more nearer to the beach and other attractions the city has to offer.

It is centrally located in kuah town. The great thing about this hotel is beside to famous thai restaurant called wan thai and buffet breakfast provided by hotel. Rooms are not that big but clean and comfortable. Recommend for both budget and high standard tourists. The only bad thing i experienced in this hotel is towel got smell which can be due to long storage. They need to do something to get no smell. Hotel provides car and cycle rental with reasonable price and also taxi services. Wifi is only available at lobby so u need to go down to use internet. Of coz u need to rent the car when u r in langkawi . otherwise need to walk a lot if go for sightseeing.

Better than expected”

We booked Bahagia Hotel purely based on the positive reviews in Agoda. However later checked reviews in google which wasn't great. So we were scared. But it was really good place. Great room with tile floor which is much cleaner than carpets. We were in family room with 2 double beds. This room was big and had microwave, 2 door medium sized fridge, etc. All power outlets were international. Breakfast was good too. So overall we were really happy and enjoyed the vacation.

Small Twin Room above Laundry”

I stayed at Hotel Bahagia for 3 nights during January 2011.I was informed that the twin room is not available in the main building. It is located above the laundry across the road. There is no lift there. To my surprise, the room is super small. The hotel which is located in Kuah is near to jetty and not very far from airport. Breakfast was pretty good but not much varieties. The staffs were helpful. And greatest of all, it is value for money!

Hotel Bahagia”

Stayed at the superior room. very new feel to the room. little view, but for the price that I paid, it was good enough. Large LCD TV with cable, nice toilet. Superior room does not have a fridge though. Location-wise, it is located in Kuah Town along a small road. Need to drive in Langkawi (can rent a small car for about for 5 days + RM50 refundable deposit). From Bahagia, there's easy access to the limited entertainment in Kuah Town - cinema at Langkawi Mall, shopping at Langkawi Fair. Its a 20 min drive from Kuah to Pantai Cenang.

bridging one day in Kuah”

we stayed as a family of four occupying 2 rooms. We booked some days ago from Kuala Lumpur. Online booking was great. Comments and description met reality. This clean and well equipped little hotel is situated in the heart of Kuah. Great local food restaurants are in footwalking distance. Shops for the every day supply just along the road. We enjoyed our 1 day stay , bridging the time until to move on to our beach resort..I can recomment the hotel to everybody who wants to stay for few days in Kuah and take some trips from there ( snorkeling, island hopping, and so on..) Bahagia is a budget saving alternative if you are anyway the whole day on the road..

Central of KUAH, Langkawi”

Overall, my stay in Hotel Bahagia was very enjoyable. Despite the flaws that I have stated, I loved the location of the hotel and the standard of cleaniness maintained by the hotel staffs. Before I headed to Langkawi, I searched various location of hotels and through the internet, I dont actually figure the exact locations. I am very glad that I have chosen Hotel Bahagia instead of some other hotels which are not as centralised. The night market is about 15 minutes walk away from the hotel. There are spa boutiques around that area, one that I can recommend is WU SENSES SPA. Just downstairs of the hotel, is the famous WAN THAI restaurant that is highly raved by KUAH people. I can vouch for the quality of the food over there. Simply delicious and value for money. Do try their black pepper and garlic soft-shell crabs and the tom yum seafood beehoon soup. You will never get sick eating there for your stay in Hotel Bahagia. All in all, I would like to thank Hotel Bahagia for their warm welcome to Langkawi and the assistance rendered to me and my friend during our stay from the 4th Jan 2010 to 7th Jan 2010.

1. Staff assistance OK 2. Breakfast choice OK (varieties can be improvise) 3. Location OK 4. Parking (Public parking , if consisered give special pass include in the hotel rate) 5. Please check the name either Hotel Bahagia 0r Hotel Bahgia (in the lift).. could be confusing 6. Cleaniness OK , lobby needs attention due to big crowds (manageable) 7. Tourist counter at lobby can play more roles introducing packages to hoteliers rather than quiet staff ie. waiting people to ask/ shy away. 8. Overall, the choice made not regretted due to budget 9. The convenience store owned by Hotel Bahagia also need to be introduce rather than quiet.

Nice Hotel”

Nice hotel and great location. just 10 min walking to Pekan Kuah and 15 min walking to ferry terminal. the breakfast is good and in front of hotel (cross the road) a lot of seafood restaurant and langkawi parade shopping mall is just 5 min walking from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only comments are the room is very small and the shower room mirror together with the door is not suitable for the twin bed room.

great place to stay”

good price, very helpful staff, many breakfast options, hot pot, teas and coffee in room, drinking water daily, satellite TV with the Discovery Channel, very clean, on site restaurant, bakery, and travel agency, convenient to ferry dock and duty free shopping. very glad to have moved here from the Citin down the street, which wasn't even close to the Hotel Bahagia in quality and value.

Nice place to stay”

1. location: located near all chinese food restaurant e.g. (Teo, wonderful, Ba ku teh) and even 24h KFC. the hotel also near to the Kuah town, just few minutes driving to the town. hotel also near to Paradise mall (duty free) roughly just 500meter from the hotel.(i lazy to walk, so i drive car) there are space for car park too. 2. service: the staff provide helpful guide and support throughout my 3D2N stay, one bad thing about this hotel is the cleaner too hardworking, they make a lot of noise when they cleaning, wake me up in the morning. i hope they can re schedule the time they perform the cleaning. they also open my room door in the morning, even i already lock the door, a bit scary, maybe because of i didn't switch on the sigh '' do not disturb'' . 3. Food: the breakfast they prepare was standard local malay style of food e.g. egg, nasi lemak, nasi goreng, porridge, curry chicken, hot dog, mushroom soup, salad, bread, milk, crunch, milk, orange juice, Rebena, tea and coffee. overall, worth RM10 la, still acceptable to me. 4. cleanliness: the room condition still acceptable to me, the toilet clean, and same with the bed and towel. 5. facilities: the room i take is the standard room, the TV function well, room got hair dryer, toilet was ok, not too small with warm and cold shower. just no fridge la, but the room i take is standard room, so acceptable to me la. 6. overall, i will come back here again if i visit Langkawi again.

cosy tiny little hotel”

Hotel Bahagia must have good connections. They are advertised at the ferry terminal at Kuala Kedah. There is also a 'Bahagia' counter selling ferry tickets but alas it was not manned so we purchased our ferry tickets from a rival company. The taxi man who drove us to the hotel upon our arrival at Kuah Terminal had no problems bringing us there. The front desk staff served us promptly and gave some good recommendations on where we could eat. They spoke pretty good english but I prefer to struggle with my malay to enrich the experience. Stayed a total of 3 nights and enjoyed the decent breakfast served each morning at the cafe. Tip of the day, the waitress will entertain special request like half boiled eggs. Just ask for it!

Everyone should stay here if....”

If you are coming to Langkawi to spend the whole day outside and explore the island just stay here because: 1) Cheap aka value for money 2) Comes with breakfast 3) Near main town area (Kuah) 4) The hotel is just for you to sleep comfortably at night so don't expect too much...

Rooms a bit small but lovely staff, great price :)”

To be honest, we didn't stay in the family room. Instead we were separated into 2 standard rooms. I can only comment about the standard rooms. for 4 students who booked a last minute flight to Langkawi and was desperate for affordable accommodation that was still available, we were grateful. The staff greeted us well and my first impression of the hotel wasn't strong and I personally don't feel that the picture does it justice. The rooms were perfect for us who were always on the go. Although the location was far from many of the highlights of Langkawi, for the price that we paid, we weren't too fussy and taxi wasn't too expensive either, it was a great stay. There was complementary breakfast which had some variety in the foods. Staff were really helpful and it made me very grateful that I had chosen a good hotel.

Location is strategic, 5-min drive to Kuah city centre, Dataran Lang, Langkawi Fair Mall etc. Facilities in room are sufficient. Only cleanliness needs to be improved. Buffet breakfast is the best! I'm craving for fried rice and muffin.

Langkawi Trip”

our Stay at Baghia Was Gr8, But very hard to search the hotel as there was no direction boards at the road junction that lead to he hotel, it is on the Subramani swami, Murugan Hindu Temple road, No access to Beach as it is in kuah town, Nr.Jetty. we rented a car for RM 100/= for two days Petrol for 20 RM is more the enough to go around. but have to park the car on the road .Small but comfort rooms, superb front office staff, esp Mr. ERIC the manager, complimentary Wifi internet at the lobby, free use of internet and pc at the Business Center over all the rooms are small but your stay is cool and memorable

A Trip to remember”

We where her in group of three family. Although we arrived late night the staff behavior was excellent and they made sure we have a pleasant. We the rooms where comfortable and clean. I will recommend Bahagia if you are looking for budget stay will good facility. There breakfast buffet is also good.

Nice hotel”

This is a nice hotel to stay in as it is quite a new hotel to stay. Location wise there are also quite a number of nice food around the hotel. There is a recommended Thai food restaurant which is just beside the hotel call wan thai. Overall i have a very good experience with this new hotel, the only bad experience i had is with the car rental at Kuah which I will never ever go langkawi again.

Not Bad ”

Breakfast ok,nice location to serach food and main attraction in Kuah area.Make sure they never give you room in Bahagia Inn or other location.Call to confirm they will give you room in Bahagia Hotel only because facility and cleaness in other location are not same standard as Bahagia Hotel.
