Spectacular location, amazing architecture, wonderful staff”
Bali Eco Village is in a very peaceful location in a community farm. Below the Village is a spectacular waterfall with two adjacent meditation caves hard carved into the rock by a lovely senior gentleman who lives with his wife on the ecovillage land. The accommodation was designed by an Italian architect and has spectacular views over a deep valley. At night, the only sounds are the breeze in the trees and the frog chorus. The staff, captained by Ursula, were terrific and anticipated my every need. They guided and helped me on a minitrek to the waterfall and caves. The gentleman who carved the caves was delightfully warmhearted and welcoming, and took me on a tour of the food forest surrounding his home. High quality organic food is available in your villa or in the restaurant. Highly recommended for the single traveller, couples, families or parties of up to 25, and an excellent conference location. There is a large spa facility, yoga hall with spectacular view, and sauna.

Great staff and beautiful location with lots to do, but you need to spend money when you're there.”
I would recommend a shorter, rather than longer stay as the menu is quite limited and you'll run out of things to do if you don't spend a lot of money. Saying that, I would recommend this place to anyone!! The staff are incredible, we want them to be our friends forever. The location is AMAZING! Although quite hard to get to initially.. would advise getting a taxi rather than biking (they offer a pick up service too).

Best Location in Bali to be in a quiet Place in the nature”
Our stay at Bali Eco village was wonderful. Thanks to Peter an his Team. The food there was delicious. They organised some great exkursions to waterfalls and volcanoes. It is also a perfect place to relax and hear the sounds of nature. The bungalows are great, and the surounding as well. So next time on Bali, we come again!

I really wanted to like this. I felt the owners have given up on the place”
I can, as many see the potential of the place, but I think the owners cant afford the project. The restaurant doesnt excist anymore, and the Hotel is one big construction site. Its been like that for very long, and no one works on finishing it. Despite the feeling of being sold a lie, I tryed to look positively at the place, and the houses where good with a nice view. The bath was not at all nice with to little hot water and it was impossible to adjust the temprature of the water. It went up and down and fastly ended cold. So many sounds from nature, and a nice Yoga/view house made me enjoy some of it. Those things where very good and made the stay somewhat worth it. Also the Eco mind to it was important for us. The food was overall okay, but due to the lake of custumers, they often where out of many things, and the breakfast was too small and the bread was terrible. Same omelet or pancake every morning. We eat at the room cause there was no restaurant. We ended up leaving 2 days early as the place didnt offer alot to do. You cant walk around alot, though the walk to the waterfall is a must. 4 days is more then enough. I also recommend the mount batur trekking. Hard but worth it. We also went to besakih temple, and that was not a great time. The place was beautiful, but they will try to trick you for money. First you pay entrance, then they force you to buy offering, the guides for temple, and later donation inside. If your not the person to handle pressure you will end up losing up to 200 dollars. I ended up leaving in anger having spent 30, but they just kept asking for more and more even after i said no. The personel was polite and did what they could, but even though it was an eco village, they kept alot of birds in small cages. We asked them to release them, and I dont if they did or just removed them, but it thought me that the people working there didnt have an Eco mindset. The owner wasnt there to teach them or guide them. The place needed a leader

Nice agro resort in Bali mountains”
Very nice stay in the middle of nowhere. Staff helpful and smiling. Great location if you love to stay in the middle of fields (coffee, flowers, bananas, papayas,...) and remote from everything. Otherwise keep in mind that a transport to and from is required and the eco village will be the only place to eat. Some renovation ongoing, but it does not disturb the stay. Take care also that at night in the Balinese mountains is quite cold. The fire in the room is definitely a plus.

      Cute venue, but, lacking”
The staff were super friendly, the bungalow lovely and views were outstanding. We felt, though, quite isolated due to the cost of the trips and the lack of transport. We had to go online to book a car from another part of Bali, to take us to batur for the day. The food was poor and the weather (it was cold) meant that the each night we had to huddle up in front of the fire and sleep with 2 duvets each! The place had potential and they are currently extending. I am sure with some alterations, the place would be an ideal retreat. A shop, improved menu and hot tub over looking the stunning canapé, would make all the difference!

      What to say ?”
The original Bali Eco Village has been completely razed. The photo with all Bamboo structures doesn't exist anymore!!!! A joke ?? It is being rebuilt ... Absolutely not finished... Villas have been refurbished in hard ( not full bamboo) but it was clean. Electricity is sporadic. Bed cumfortable and the place is very quiet and zen : only if you looking relax aera. The view is great (forest). The access is for adventurers as it is so destroyed.... No activity here only meditation ??!! Staff very great and do their best to serve you... But not enough.... We booked 3 nights in a place that was absolutely not what was expected and sold by agoda... What to say ?

      Not as what we expected”
First of all it was not mentioned that this place was abandoned for almost a year!! The photo on the website was taken years ago and the structure was totally destroyed and being rebuild. The road was so bad and you need to use 4WD to get there. Nonetheless the place is peaceful as we are the only couple checking in to this place!! The walkway to the waterfalls also quite bushy as it seems no one walking down to the waterfalls for quite sometime. On positive note am sure after the renovation the place should be good again in the next 6 months from now. The staff are amazing anyway and makes our stay as comfortable as they can do.

New life ahead for a beautifully located resort”
      the quiet, location, dining room
It looks like a lot is about to change at this still lovely but tired resort. BEV has just changed hands and the new owner is currently reviewing the operation. She is very aware of the potential to improve and is full of energy and vision. There are big plans to restore this beautiful old resort to what it might become. Anyway, as we found it now.. If your ears need a holiday Bali Eco Village is a perfect place. It's quiet, wonderfully, deliciously still and even the roosters are muffled. Should you go looking for it you'll find the sounds of gently running water everywhere, discreet bird chatter and other aural delights. And if you need quiet to sleep, get ready for..ZZZZZ. Your ears, seriously, they'll be loving it here. If your ears are happy at BEV it's likely your eyes will be smiling too. While it's a taxi driver daunting trek to get here the valley setting surrounded by jungle is quite beautiful. Using the word Eco in the name of a place however, often seems to give permission to be a bit run down and to skimp on maintenance. There were elements of neglect in our standard room which was tired and a bit mouldy. It seems pretty clear though that this is about to change Where this lovely, resort was let down for us though was in the food. This is not unimportant as there are no alternative dining options for many miles. You stay here, you will eat here. We were served a couple of meals that were really not that good. To be fair though, it turned out the usual chef was away and kitchen duties had been thrust on someone who tried hard but was unprepared for the task. We stayed a second night and the meal was slightly better Also, any disappointment with the cooking was almost forgotten sitting in the gothic bamboo of the main dining hall which at night is quite a spectacular space So a gloriously isolated, rustic resort in a serene location with smiling helpful staff, well worth a visit now but soon to be updated and much improved by a new owner.

      Trip with 10-month old”
Friendly staff, quality of the food, superb location
The complex is located on the most beautiful place, with beatifull materials and has a very nice Eco- vision which we want to support! But overall the construction does not seem well- maintained. It's in the details... Lots of broken things, paint that bladders, mold in the rooms, very dirty curtains and cushion covers in the room... In general it is a super nice place, but due to these little things you have the feeling that the value for money is not really the best. Staff was super friendly, we traveled with a 10month old and they helped with whatever they could, but in general not a very pro-actif staff. It was not clear to us who was in charge and everything we asked (info about Trekkings, tours, possibility for a motorbike) had to be checked first on the phone, and we got answers hours later, which is very inconvenient if you are trying to plan your stay. Our most expensive accommodation on a 3 week trip in Bali, but sadly not the best experience we had. Food was super good, but overpriced compared to most places in Bali.

The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Our stay was very pleasant. The hotel is away from the bustle of Ubud, yet close enough that it can be reached in a 10-minute drive. Resting by the pool after a hot day of activities makes for a divine experience. The outdoor shower was terrific. Our breakfast was delicious. Some reviews mentioned the toasts not being up to snuff. Now they have whole wheat or white, and they were very good. Overall, we all had a delightful stay.

      Not what it seems....”
      Quiet location
After seeing other reviews and looking at pictures, I decided to book this place. Well...even our driver did not want to leave us here. A long way from the main road on a very dodgy track. The cabins are so old, weeds everywhere. People living under the Cabins. Lights not working, Our cabin balcony had a lean...we did not want to stay. In fact we had paid for 3 nights and got out of there after 1st night. Luckily we got a ride with another couple who were also leaving. What a shame as the accommodation looked lovely , but nothing like this when you arrive. I believe it has changed hands and hopefully they might put some money back into the maintenance and facilities. What a disappointment and also extra cost to pay a driver back to Ubud (2 hours) then find another place to stay. NO refund was offered. Would not recommend this place unless you are prepared to really rough it.
