Quiet convenient location with an amicable owner”
The Ban Hao Hotel is more of a homestay than a hotel, but it is very comfortable. The location is located next to a convenient mini-mart and is just up the street from the "walking street". The owner was very friendly and smiled all of the time. She even let us check in much earlier than we expected. I would stay at the Ban Hao Hotel again.

Lovely lady and very helpful”
Greeted with a genuine warm welcome which is always a good start and carried on from there..problem with my room on a arrival so i was booked into the large room with 3 beds on my own for same price, so not really an issue at all. Kinda help yourself to coffee and toast in morning..would definitely stay again and thats a lot to do with the really nice lady who runs it..not right on the mekong but very short walk to that and the walking st..

Feel like being home”
Kind owner, Very clean room, Fast internet connection
We stayed there for 2 nights. The owner was very kind and friendly. We felt like being at home. The room was very clean. The room we stay was small but it's quite comfortable as there are many windows. The hotel is situated near walking street.

Excellent guesthouse”
Nice rooms, very nice owner.
we booked two rooms at this guesthouse. due to serious and potentially disasterous navigation errors we were unable to meet our reservations. when we arrived a day later, we were expecting and willing to pay for another night. the landlady graciously offered us the rooms with no additional charge. our rooms were in a separate building from the main guesthouse. they are very clean and nicely furnished. i don't mind a hard bed so that was no issue. the car park is locked at night. the wifi is strong. there are some roosters in the morning otherwise quiet and peaceful. i didn't remember booking a room with breakfast, but was served a very nice meal. i highly recommend this place.

Overall is Good”
Not bad, but this is not a hotel or even hostel/ guesthouse. Ban Hao is a homestay which have only one owner, you will feel like stay with your grandma if you choose to stay here. Good thing is Ban Hao is not too commercial, seem like the owner run this business because she retire and just need something to do. Dont reserve here if you dont like a homestay, this is not a proper place for you.

Not a hotel but a homestay”
too cold in Feb, free bike, noisy
The town is one of the most expensive towns in Thailand due to many Thai tourists. Not many white tourists are spotted like in other touristic places like Pai or any of the islands. Yet, every thing seems pricey and 14 usd a night was the low end in Chiang Khan. Run by only one staff owner the breakfast was too basic and had only 4 pieces of bread left and it was self-service and I ate them all but there was another guest and the owner seemed to be worried about it. The toilet was to shared and the floor was uneven that you could have your feet hurt if not wearing slippers. It is not so far or close to the center but the free bike was a plus. The TV didn't work at all as the owner shut the service in the low season but wifi was OK.

nice stay..”
it is more like a homestay. this is probably the cheapest accomodation in chiang khan as the rates in most hotels are ridiculously bloated. the owner n stFf were helpful during my stay. free bicycle rental is a bonus. hot water for drinking is available throughout the day. the morning tea n morsel are a bonus.

Location, staff friendly and helpful, ground floor room
In the first instance I don't understand why Agoda has this as a Hotel on it's website. It is more of a B&B and one which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Yes the lady at the place was friendly and helpful. The Breakfast she provided was inadequate, the bed was rock hard and uncomfortable and thankfully we only stayed two nights. The parking provided for the premises we stayed in, not part of the main building was not big enough for our car and we were unable to shut the gate.

Those lovely older ladies running the guesthouse
We were for two nights there, but it is nothing special to mention here. The lovely older ladies always had a smile and you can have a tea/coffee all around the clock. It is located at one end of the city's main road, near the promeande. Just a few steps and your are in the middle of the town.
