Hotels with bar in Mid Valley / Bangsar

"We want a short vacation where: • We want to go shopping (at least for my missus) • Everything is just nearby • No hassle getting around • Nice accommodation • Air-conditioned comfort everywhere • Somewhere we been too many times to care what’s going on outside The answer: Mid-Valley Megamall and the St. Giles The Gardens Hotel and Residences This vacation is during the 1 week March school holidays. We booked a two-bedroom unit for us and another family (my wife’s sister). This time, we took a Malaysian Airlines flight from Singapore to KLIA. We then proceed to take the KLIA Express to KL Sentral. From there we took a KTM Kommuter train down to Mid-Valley station (it is just 1 station away). Total journey was ok even though we do get confused by the lack of proper signage at KL Sentral. There are actually 2 malls in Mid-Valley – the main mall where ‘normal’ stuff is sold and the Gardens Mall: an upmarket mall. When you reach the area where there are branded items and the crowd suddenly thins out…you know you’re in the Gardens mall. Mid – Valley Megamall has 3 hotels connected directly to it (as far as I know as I have stayed in all 3). The Cititel – a budget, training hotel; the Boulevard- a business hotel and The Gardens, their premier hotel. The Gardens hotel is easy enough to find, even though there are two lobby, one for the hotel and another for the Residences. It was walking in familiar surroundings. In fact, I think it’s the 3rd time we’ve been here. Probably 6th or 7th time we’ve stayed in Mid Valley. We arrived around 5pm at the Residence lobby. Checking-in was easy and very quick. There was no fuss. Only thing was there was no porter to bring our luggage. No big issue. No tips then! The room itself was nice. It has a master bedroom with a King bed and en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and wc A second bedroom with 2 super-single bed with an en-suite bathroom and a rainwater shower. "I was surprised by this hotel, it was like a boutique version of a Hilton. I found it quite comfortable and at a great price! I doubt you can find better for the price. I love boutique because of the romantic atmosphere and this was quite close. Caution! I made the assumption that this place was at Mid-Valley mall and it is not. It is located at mid-valley area, but not at the mall. You will have to take a taxi to Bangsar area where this place is located (and not all taxi drivers will know where it is because it's a new hotel). I didn't eat much here but I did order a "big burger" for room service and it was really good. The hotel is close to Bangsar which is really good for local food ($16RM by taxi there and back). I would definitely come back!!!!"

"Excellent hotel of this class...newer property and kept extremely clean. Front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast area is spacious and one of the best hotel in a kuala lumpur I have experienced.I'll be back to this place and highly recommend to others when in the area."

"The room is spacious with decent facilities. The setback is the location which is not really appetizing despite within walking distance to the LRT Kerinchi, less than 20mins walking to the Mid Valley Megamall and KPJ hospital. Lots of foreign construction workers there at night. There are few local eateries nearby and I'm not sure about convenient stores. "

"The place was like a home away from home and we met the owner who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Whilst the place is very quiet, beneath you have the Tesco for foot and goods shopping and for younger folk there is a number of bars and clubs for night time entertainment. It is a little self contained so if your desires stretch beyond the immediate block, then a short Uber ride away takes you to the Mid Valley shopping mall with all its delights of shopping, eating and play areas for kids. Interesting place to stay if you fancy residing in an alternative part of KL to the more common KLCC areas."

"i booked this unit last minute, literally few days before our Genting & KL trip. The unit is clean, neat and cozy, plus it is a very spacious unit, various sports facilities. Just a 5 mins drive to nearest shopping mall Mid Valley City. Great security (Private access lift). The only con is the building structure, due to private access, we have drive all the way to 9th floor to park our vehicle althought it have plenty of parking lots from 1st floor to 8th floor. Parking fees is RM10 per day which is relatively expensive for traveller"

"It was a pleasant experience staying at the Scott Garden. Despite being a little far from the city center, this place has almost everything you need: Starbucks, restaurants, convenient stores, bars and clubs. The staff was very lovely and enthusiast, especially Jenn. Definitely a good place to stay if you're looking for a shelter in Mid Valley."

"We were traveling as a group of four girls, and we enjoyed the place much. It was clean and it has spacious bedrooms, everything works properly; we just wished the lower level bathroom could be bigger, but other than that, this place is great. The place is connected to a shopping center where you can find 7eleven, Starbucks, PappaRich, and many clubs and karaokes open at night. It's a bit loud at night at the shopping center but our unit is up on the 16th level so it was good. We go everywhere by Uber or Grab, and they can easily find us at the shopping center lobby. It's quite close to other big malls as well, but took around 45minutes to the airport with moderate traffic. Thanks so much for Jacky who provided everything we needed. Jacky, the owner, was being super helpful and attentive.Would definitely recommend this place for group travelers."
