Awesome View, Fantastic Hosts, Memorable Experience”
I stayed at room #13 from 10-11 Nov 2019, felt it was a pity that I didn’t stay there longer. Why you should choose Batad Transient House: - You get to live amongst UNESCO world heritage site - Batad rice terraces. Best view out of your windows/ balcony every day - Living in the present: there is no phone signal, life is simple there and after-meal entertainment is basically scenery-viewing or human interaction/ conversations - Meals are deliciously home-cooked by hosts, over a traditional fire (wood). So do order your meals some hours in advance. - Good workout as the only way to commute is by foot. Hike up the highest viewpoint and hike down to the waterfalls. Please avoid bringing a luggage (my mistake). Think minimalistic. A small bag pack would suffice. Laundry services are available there. - Hosts are friendly, I love conversing with them. - Accommodation is basic, but sufficient enough (hot water, clean beds). They are expanding the house and I can’t wait to return!

Exceptional”
Very simple room but we didn't need anything more. It was clean and comfortable. There is a terrace with amazing view. The hosts are very nice, they have their own coffee and cook simple but delicious local meals. I wholeheartedly reccomend this place.

Budget friendly hostel ”
We really had a nice stay at this place. Awesome view of the Batad Terraces. Room is clean and we also have an option to choose which room we want since it's not peak season. I suggest you stay at right corner room of the hostel, it gives you a nice view and privacy. They offer food at a reasonable price. They do have heater as well. Don't expect to much, you cannot get luxury hostels around this area. Always lock your doors when you leave. We lost 2k when we left our room to eat downstairs. We were too complaisant that we didn't lock our rooms, which is our fault either. We only noticed it when we checked out and head back to Banaue.

What a view”
The room is basic, but very clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning! The family that run the place were very helpful. While we had read on a blog that it's expensive to eat in Batad, we found the prices to eat here very reasonable.

Best Place to Stay!”
Transient house has an amazing view, we think it has one of the best views in Batad. Ms Irene and her family were very accommodating. They keep the rooms / everything clean. We also loved the food, you can bring your own portable stoves etc. But next time we would choose to pack light since its a long walk from the jump off/parking area. You will be exhausted going back up once you leave with all the things you brought with you.

What a view”
Love this place. Basic rooms, but clean and adequate. Stunning view from the shared balcony. Super nice and welcoming staff. Water is more expensive (70pesos) than banaue, but otherwise food prices were very decent and very generous portions.

Quaint home-stay for the simple life. Basic facilities that are well-kept. Beautiful setting & friendly host. Would stay again, however would note that everything has a cost! Previous reviews were misleading. Don’t expect free tea/coffee!

Very simple”
As. Batad is made up of very simple placed to stay, this one was as basic as it gets. Power was off for about 24 hrs so no showers for 2 days and the thin foam mattress with one thin blanket made for very cold nights.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!”
The transient house was okay but nobody mentioned that it is located 40 mins hike down the hill from parking, and going back is a 1 hour hike up. But the house is really in the middle of the rice terraces. The terraces are well maintained. We were traveling with a 68 yr old senior. No water heater as it broke down just when we arrived. We were supposed to cancel 2 days ahead of our last night but no internet and no phone so we cannot cancel and the owner did not even allow us to offset it against our food. Safety was our main concern so we have to transfer and gave up 2 nights. Maximun stay here should be more or les 2 nights.

The location is really good right in front of the Banaue rice terraces, but there are other places to choose from also with same view. I didn’t expect something very good for the price but the place isn’t clean, cockroaches in the bedroom, no hot shower, the owner/caretaker tried her best to provide whatever she can which is much appreciated but it’s really not worth it. The food is too expensive for its taste, so far the only good thing is the view and the trekking to the falls. Be careful as so many locals will ripped you off!

Due to COVID lockdown and shelter in place, we never left USA and that is why I gave it a one star. I heard it was a good place to stay . Also, a one star because the money is nonrefundable.

Cozy and inspiring place”
I really liked the whole batad experience and this place has the best view, very tasty food and good service. Consider that batad is a very small village in the middle of the forest, so expect a few small moths in the common area, but they're beautiful and funny to watch. The woman running the place is very nice and she will help you with anything. Remember to not book in advance any transportation back to banaue, wait until you arrive to the hostel and they will give you a better price.

A great experience staying with locals”
Our stay there was excellent! Would definitely recommend the place to others (try the native hut)! I throughout suggest staying in Batad over night instead of going for a day trip/hike from Banaue. The accommodation was a great place to experience the life in the village and area! The place itself was kept clean and the shower had hot water even (to our surprise)! The staff - and especially the owner - were very friendly! For hikes in the area I definitely suggest taking a local guide (even if it seems easy to reach places by yourself)!
