Great location with excellent view”

The hotel location is excellent as it is situated adjacent to the Zon International Ferry Terminal. So you just walk through the direction from of the immigration office in the Ferry Terminal Building and it's very easy to find the lobby of the hotel. Since the hotel is in the Duty Free Zone, shopping is also convenient for you as the shopping mall is attached to the hotel with many duty free stores and food stores inside. During our stay, we got a room with splendid view facing the Johor Strait and the bridge connecting Johor Bahru and Singapore. In front of the hotel (still in the same duty free zone complex) you will find a superb seafood restaurant with various food selection and reasonable price. This is my first travelling in which most of my time was spent staying at the hotel instead of walking exploring the city. The only drawback of the hotel is the in room dining service which is very difficult to get after midnight.

A pleasant surprise”

Having stayed at Berjaya before, we were pleasantly surprised with the upgrades to the rooms, the property & the restaurant. It’s obvious that the area is now buzzing with a range of good bars and cafes, while various Vietnamese restaurants are a short stroll away. Our room had a lovely ambience looking over the Straits and we we were very impressed with the excellent range of food for breakfast. High quality and we will be back next time we head to Johor Bahru:)

ALWAYS EXCELLENT”

I use this hotel since 2012 several times every year. Right now I spent five days and I have 25 (twenty five) days to go. Excellent service as always. Comparing with NOVOTEL Terminal 3 CDG airport France, Hilton Gardens in Gainesville Florida, HILTON in Saint John, NB Canada and Grand Bluewave in Johor Bahru Malaysia, Berjaya Hotel is heavily underrated with four stars.

Grand old hotel ”

The Berjaya Waterfront Hotel is in fact above the ferry terminal shopping arcade. It is near the waterfront and is inside the dry free area. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, but there is a certain amount of "Faded Glory". It worked well for us, the staff were really helpful, and I cannot compliment the Security staff enough for their prompt response when my daughter was separated from us and she was quickly located and comforted. Each day started with a substantial buffet breakfast. There was small play area at the end of the dining room which was a lifesaver for my 5 year old. The internet worked well. Unfortunately the pool was closed for maintenance. We (2 adults and 2 children) managed quite well in a twin bedded room. In the evenings we ate at the waterfront restaurants just along the road from the port area. I would certainly consider staying here again.

we chose this hotel because of its proximity to the mall (just beside it) and tons of bars/clubs/lounges! we even saw the royal prince of johor bahru clubbing there! together with his bodyguards of course.it's a really cool and fun place. you can go bar hopping by just walking.the hotel is very spacious and i like the architecture of the hotel.their chicken tandoori is delicious! love that we dont have to pay extra for wi-fi internet access unlike other hotels.will definitely stay again to the zon hotel.

Nice sea view but old hotel”

The hotel room is clean but kinda old. The bath towels and bed sheet in my room was torned with some holes. Luckily the cleaner there was helpful and willing to replace for us! Love the country style furniture in the hotel room and the sea view! It's also quite a convenient location for those who wanna travel in the Johor Bahru city, Singapore or take the ferry to Indonesia! You may also shop for duty free products at the shopping mall which is just right next to the hotel!

Luxury hotel at a reasonable price”

It took me about an hour to reach the hotel from my home in Woodlands, Singapore. I was given a room overlooking the Johor Straits. I could see Woodlands from my hotel window, a home away from home. Beautiful scenery - watching the ferry depart from the jetty was a pleasant sight. The room was very clean and big, with a plasma TV, though I hardly used it. I enjoyed a good Japanese-Italian a la carte buffet lunch at a reasonable price on the sixth floor. I had a sumptuous seafood dinner at the Chinese Seafood Restaurant at the waterfront. Both restaurant staff were friendly and hospitlble. I will definitely come back again.

The Zon Regency at Johor Bahru-”

Was a pleasant stay for us. Easy to locate and able to let us check in slightly earlier. Well maintain room. Staff were courteous at front desk and restuarant. Able to get some snacks at the supermarket next to it. We will stay over at this hotel again if we do go by Johor Bahru.

Superb scenery”

Cozy and feels like home. We just sat by the window enjoying the scenery,the sea and Singapore on the other side. Can see Johor Bahru town too as the scenery not obstructed. Breakfast is delicious. Seafood restaurant is within walking distance which opens for dinner till late at night. Highly recommended.

Zon Regency by the Sea”

The Deluxe room is spacious, equipped with comfortable bed, fine furnishing lights, air con is cooling, bathtub is up to standard, window view is beautiful. Luxurious 5 star hotel comfort at the pricing equivalent to 3 star hotel makes Zon Regency by the Sea the most value for money. Be spoilt for choice of duty free for liquour and cigarettes, friends and families both a good gathering location. With the Woodlands Johore causeway link bridge at visible distance, Singaporeans will never miss home again. Zon regency will be my first choice of stay in Johore anytime!

Disappointed”

We had a late check in. Upon check in, we were informed that there is no double bed and only twin single beds left. Asked them rectify to which they failed to do so. Their reservation department and agoda should have liased and communicate accordingly so that such thing should not be repeated again. Regardless, they have their exclusion clause "subject to availability" agoda would surely disabled the choice of preference of bed if only their reservation department notify agoda accordingly. They did gave us free breakfast voucher though. I stayed at room no 942. The room - hair on the bedsheet and dirty. The toilet - the sink was leaking, water everywhere, the bath tub is dirty. I didnt expect this from Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, and as a frequent guest there..its frustrating.

Great Hotel to stay in”

we had a very pleasant stay. the hotel had great atmosphere. the room was perfect. it had all what we wanted. the live music at the lobby in the evenings and night was great. as the sounds come into the room, this can be disturbing for some, especially in the lower floors. staff was very nice, although their english should improve a bit more, especially those who are taking down the room service orders. what i really liked about the hotel is the adjoining zon shopping mall. if i go to johor bahru again, i will definitely stay at zon regency again. it is value for money.

Money worth it hotel with nice seaview.”

This is my second stayed in The Zon Regency Hotel Johor Bahru. Here really a good choice for business trvaller as the hotel is located at the strategy location. It's within the free duty zone and therefore we can shop for cheap item like perfume, cigarrete, whisky / brandy / beer and so on. Also, a lot of night life here so that you won't feel getting bored. The hotel offer wide space room and equiped with all neccessities. The room condition clean and tidy. Also, the hotel staffs are nice and friendly.

Overall, it is an quite nice hotel to stay if you want to go around the Johor Bahru City. Around the area, there are many nice, delicious & famous foods to be found. The only thing that need to improve is the hotel pillows, it has bad smell, maybe the hotel management need to look into it. The internet access signal inside the hotel room is very weak, only able to access near to room door. Recommend to business travellers, or down town holiday for couple.

Great Hotel”

Located to the seaside with the great view is the main attractive factor for those who wish to release work pressure and enjoy short trip relaxing. Seaview for both singapore and Johor bahru are awesome and good view. Hotel with the swimming pool facing the sea (but was under maintainance during my visit)should be one good point. Seafood aside from hotel is nice too and price is reasonable.

Berjaya group has their standard service and i found it in Berjaya Waterfron Johor..its an old look hotel but still pretty..the room is spacious and the facilities are really good...well recommended hotel near harbour...

Good hotel and service with a smile”

The hotel has an excelent location in Johor Bahru and the interior with the large opening in the center is a bit different from other hotels and thus very fascinating. The music played in the evening was excelent both in type of songs and loudness. Some noice from discotec outside was annoying late evenings, but maybe that affect only one side of the hotel. All in all a very good hotel

Friendly staff, good location, spacious room”

We travelled with our 6 months old baby to Berjaya Waterfront early this month to celebrate Mother's Day. We feel grateful that the valet parking staff allowed us to park our car at the lobby while we bring our baby up to get changed for celebration. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is fantastic as it is very near to the custom immigration. We would definitely stay there again for our next visit!
