Lovely garden setting”

We walked Miles up and down the Beach and found the Blues River Resort has the nicest garden setting of all. Very well taken care of. Airy and green. During the week we were the only guests. Nice Gardenview villa. Spacious and clean. Good AC. Beware of the “ Rooms with balcony.”For the time being they build a third floor, so construction noise could occur. Breakfast Good. Eggs and BF meats, fried rice, Toast and Jam, fruits. Buffet on weekend. Team hardly speaks English. So difficult with info. . Beach full of plastic. Would recommend resort but not the beach area.

Bllues River”

This is the second time we have stayed there. It is a great place for families. This time, however we had several issues. 1. Last time (a year ago) the manager spoke English...this time no one did. There was one Cambodian staff member we could communicate through if we could find her. 2. We never managed to get them to turn on the hot water in our room.....pretty screwed for the price and staying there for four nights freezing my ass off everytime I took a shower. 3. Getting from the hotel to anyplace, such as Chanthaburi, isn't easy as it is a half hour away... only $10 so not a big deal...but not as easy to arrange as it should be from a "four star" hotel.... 4. Because there is no one there during the week it means you have the full attention of the friendly staff...it also means that many of the things on the restaraunt menu aren't available.... 5. For a "four star" hotel there is no bar, or alcohol available outside of scotch and beer... 6. Though our four old really enjoys herself with the attention the staff givers her, we probably won't go back again, even though I will still go to Chanthaburi to buy gemstones, just not stay here...Virgil England

I bet that's why they call it the Blues”

I will start with the positives. The hotel is right on the beach. Our room was nice and had all the amenities you would expect for the price. On the negative side, the swimming pool looked green. We didn't go near it. The 'river' running through the resort looks very stagnant and is more black than blue. And the beach collects a lot of litter (but that is not the hotel's fault, it is throughout the beach). On Sat night, a bus rocked up near the resort playing blaring music. The music started again on Sun morning. This again is not the hotel's fault. The hotel owner said he has complained but there is nothing he can do. Overall, we had a lovely time as the location is great and the area has some lovely restaurants. The beach is nice and very quiet in the week. However, probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again as I think there are cheaper options just as good.

Very nice”

Was a very nice place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good. The setting of the resort is very nice - with soft music playing throughout the grounds. The hotel had a motorbike for rent - however did not have helmets available to use. It was advertised as having fishing available - but that was not on-site - it was evening squid fishing at another location about 4km away which cost 500 THB per person (which was worth it and fun to do). The beach was very nice - and ocean water was warmer than the beautiful pool water. Would stay there again.

Exceptional”

Beautiful grounds, nice swimming pool. In nov 2018, there are some parts under construction but that was not a bother. The resort has its own private part of the beach, and that area is also clean and well kept. For the price, breakfast could be improved but the crab fried rice was good. You can walk to a 7-11.

Virgil England..Blues River Resort”

Very nice. It is relatively small(being able to handle no more than 70 guests) and empty during the week..The location is some distance from Chanthaburi where we were doing business at the gem market, but worth the fifteen minute ride. Our 3 1/2 year old was ready to move in as there is a beautiful pool setting and beach swings and goofy little sculptures of sheep etc...

Blues River Gave Us the Blues”

Blues River was ok. A very large property directly on the water made for nice views. The place was very quiet and we were one of only a handful of guests staying at the time. The room was worn to death, but with an updated bathroom. The resort was under construction, with noise starting before 7 AM and going on all day. Breakfast was adequate, but with limited options. They tried their best to accommodate a vegetarian request, which was appreciated. The pool was cloudy and therefore unswimmable. However, the gulf of Thailand was amazing with a beautiful beach and warm water, so the pool was not needed. The restaurant closed after breakfast and did not offer dinner options. There was no bar either. I am not sure if this place was recently sold and being renovated or was just barely staying afloat financially. Seemed that no management was present and it showed. It was an ok stay, but for the price, was not a good value at all and the competition has it beat by a mile.

Not worth THB 5,000”

We stayed in the Teak Room next to the beach. It was nice, clean, fairly spacious. The staff at the hotel were approachable. Although most things were fine, I'm not sure the THB 5,000 I paid for one night was worth it. We did stay at the hotel on a Saturday of a Thai bank holiday (busy period), though. I must report the insanely loud music and the vertebrate-shattering bass from a car sound system that was playing about 100 meters from our room in the public area by the beach. I read one of the reviews about this hotel in German that reported this as a nuisance and was disappointed upon arrival to be greeted by that sound, which did not stop all day until the evening time. It then started back up promptly at 08.00 in the morning. For this reason, I would strongly recommend you consider a different hotel. Eventually, the management will have to do something about it. Until then, their pretensions of being a 4* are unjustified.

All over was the Stay ok”

The restaurant prices in a normal Hotel level, the food was deluscious. The pool was ok and it was quiet. At the beach a lot of shell.

Old Style Hotel”

This hotel now has restaurant area reach beach front. Hotel guests have their own beachfront. Have space to relax at beach. Restaurant is good enough if you don't want to go outside to have dinner. Breakfast is American style not to vary but they use good ingredient. Please avoid water fall room style due to a bit old.

Close to Beach Good location”

Beach not far from hotel I stayed in standard king bed room in 1st floor If you hate ant you should booking in 2nd floor cause it has a lot of ant in the balcony also inside a room. Just this thing that annoyed me

Quite and peace ”

Great location. Private beach. 2 minute walk to 7/11. Great green area for kids to play and run around. Beautiful swimming pool. The staff don’t speak much English, but they do their best. Thai people are usually shy if they can’t speak English well, so speak slowly and with smile, they will get you what you want!

Hmu”

Room clean, garden is nice have open space for nature. staff is helpful when booking. WiFi not working and safe box closed, feedback but no response. breakfast not impressed. Table at beach are nice, but allow people smoking, we have to move to other tables.

Excellent hotel with private beach. A bit pricey but very nice.

Nice Sunset Setting”

Nice place to watch the sun go down with a beer or a cocktail. Food okay, staff very good and rooms nothing special but acceptable . Beautiful grass areas an bridge overcome the river to the seaside were a highlight.

This place is good for your family trip in overall, nice beach, nice swimming pool BUT a lot of bugs / ants in our room.

It is great for swimming and close to the good restaurant. It is not far from Bangkok and driving here is very easy. If you love the sea and privacy, it is a good place to stay.
