Very comfortable and good value ”

we had three nights at bp samila beach and, after reading reviews about how shabby it was, we were pleasantly surprised. for the price we thought it was perfectly fine. the room we had was spacious and really comfortable with a fantastic balcony view, comfy bed and great shower. there was free fruit in the room as well, which was a nice touch. the minibar prices were only just above the cost of the same drinks outside. breakfast was largely thai style but varied and with plenty of fruit. we didn't use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. there were some hitches with staff communication and information but nothing major. laundry was done quickly and well. we'd certainly go back if we were in the area - it's a much nicer location than the dusty downtown places. you can easily get downtown in a tuk-tuk but there are good restaurants on the beach nearby.

Surprise stay”

We had a great night at BP Samila hotel because we were given the connected rooms on the top floor with nice view as requested. The rooms were nice and clean. And they did not look very old unlike some of the hotel photos. The front desk staff were very nice, helpful and polite. But it would be nice if the hotel could provide safe box and additional key card for each room. To prevent the lost of many key cards, the hotel might ask the customers to pay for THB 500 deposit per an additional key card if needed.

Location, location location”

As other reviewers have observed the hotel is a little bit tired. That said the place ws clean and the service very good. We went during the low season and the beaches were deserted, great swimming, no rip tides or similar.. The pool too was deserted during the day time although gets a bit busier after 6pm, appears to be open to locals after that (?) Restaurant and lounge were decent One point to note is that the hotel is well isolated from Songkhla and if you want to visit any bars you will need to take a tuk tuk or walk the beach front road past all the local customised cars displaying a 1000 watts of HiFi and light display! Rooms were clean and bed comfortable Songkhla is a popular destination for the Malays and therefore English is not spoken as much as in some of the tourist destinations, knowing a few Thai words for food and drink is handy

What a surprise !”

The location just in front of the beach is fantastic and with many seafood restaurant and bars in the night. All the staff is surprisingly cute, kind, polite and smiling. Breakfast excellent with too many choices (Western and Thai). REMARKABLE the cleanliness : never seen (I live in Thailand) a room so clean in this country. European standards so difficult to have in Asia. A surprise after the last tragic experiences where I have seen everything and more. The hotel is not new, but they make their best to keep in a good way. Not easy considering that is a big hotel. Hats off to the management ! More than this is humanly impossible to do. This will be our must stop in Songkhla FOR EVER !!!

the greatest hotel in songkhla samila beach,nice staff and very convenience if u want to walk on samila beach ,got a lot of hawker sell foods,drinks,and souvenirs,the seafood restaurant was served in cheap price and tasty,the most thing i like is they have so many tv channel include wah lai toi,makes me feel like im at my home ,the only thing i don't like is the breakfast is less food to choose and the taste not very nice.

This is my first stay in Songkhla City and I must admit that it's pretty much a quiet town. For a tour and sightseeing in and around Songkhla City, BP Samila Beach resort is just a perfect place to stay. It's strategic location means you can get anywhere within the city via taxi or tuk-tuk. Also there's an abundance of local restaurants and road side vendors that'll ensure you won't have to go far to have a meal. The breakfast buffet that comes with the room is just alright. Nothing to shout about. Internet/WiFi isn't very good either. Apart from these, I guess it's an alright hotel.

Exceeded my expectations”

It was a very comfortable and enjoyable one night stay and we very much enjoyed our weekend getaway. This is really a beachfront hotel where you just need to step out of the hotel, walk for one minute and you are already at the beach! Hence I feel that this must really be the best location to enjoy Songkhla especially if you want to spend some time on Samilla Beach. The seaview room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and our balcony had a great view of the beach from which we were able to enjoy watching the sun rise in the morning. The deco and furniture in the room were slightly worn out, but everything was pretty much functional, so no complaints for a short stay. There was a complimentary basket of fruits which I thought was a nice touch. My only grouses would be the unfriendly attitude of staff manning the reception and we also had problems with the hot water where the water temperature was hard to adjust, we ended up showering with only slightly warm water. The breakfast was so-so, good coffee though. We didn't swim in the swimming pool but saw many guests who did including children. Suggest hotel to provide sun loungers around the pool which would really make a difference I think. Overall, it was a great one night stay in BP Samilla Resort, mainly because of its superb location.

Very comfortable and clean”

BP Samila Hotel & Resort provided a great base for a weekend in Southern Thailand. Our room overlooked the beach, which was close enough for us to hear the gentle swoosh of the surf. The room was a comfortable size for a couple and had sliding doors onto a small balcony. Unfortunately, there wasn't any balcony furniture though. The buffet breakfast provided a good variety of dishes including fresh fruit, rice porridge & noodles, cereal, toast, eggs, smallgoods, juice, coffee, tea etc. The hotel is located a couple of kilometres from the centre of town, but taxis and motorcycle taxis are readily available and inexpensive.

Excellent hotel”

Location: Very near to samila beach mermaid statue and food stall area. Convenient parking space and easy to find the hotel. Room: Very clean, free fruit basket and even refill everyday, powerfull aircond and hot/cold water for separate shower and bathub, spacious room and nice view of the "Gulf of Thailand" sea. Swimming pool: no towel provided and lack sundeck/chair...big and nice pool but lack maintenance. Overall, very satisfied.

Very nice location, but swimming pool out of order”

We had Chosen BP Samila Beach Hotel because of its Location at the sea and of the big Swimming pool. The Swimming pool was out of order, a big disapointment for the children. We heard that its already over 1 year, that the Swimming pool is not being repaired... It would be important that BP Samila Beach Hotel writes this honestly at their Website!

It is the only hotel right on the beach in Samilla Beach and right down the street is a line of seafood restaurants including one of the best, Sujinda Restaurant, which has an excellent chef/cook. There are 2 other Sujinda Rest. but they have different cooks and then there are others, not quite as busy as Sujinda. In the evening you can choose your own seafood, including live large crabs and large live shrimp and a large variety of slat water fish plus other items. The BP Samilla is quite busy with many large groups holding meetings during the day but it is quiet at night. Sometimes parking is a premium but we seem to be able to find a spot somewhere. The breakfast buffet is quite large and has a great variety of foodstuffs, enough to satisfy any appetite. Our room faced the sea which made it quite enjoyable. They do have a large swimming pool and either a hot tub pool or it may be a kiddie's pool.

Great hotel and lovely staff”

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel and were impressed with it. The staff were very helpful with information about Songkhla - particularly when we didn't speak each others language. The Manager of the hotel helped us with sightseeing as did the bellboys in trying to get a tuk tuk in very trying circumstances (no tuk tuks for some reason). The hotel is well laid out and is definitely the best hotel in Songkhla. It is quite a walk to the town centre so best to grab a tuk tuk. Would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel location”

nice room and facility. the bathroom is spacious and complete with shower and bathtub. hot water also working great. wifi is unlimited and accessible on every floor.  the staff is really helpful although their english is limited. we could also have the early check in and late check out here. our room is on the top floor and facing the sea. the view is really awesome and can see both samila and chalathat beach. clearly see the sun rise in the morning on the chalathat beach. the hotel also has an easy access to the beach and near the golden mermaid statue. many choices of breakfast in a nice full length mirror restaurant by the sea. enjoying every moments in here. 

Peaceful resort for peaceful people”

samila beach hotel is normally a quiet resort. people who come here should not expect night life, shopping or sightseeing...more a leisure place with local thai and malaysian tourists and the beach almost right out of the doorstep. the gulf is usually very calm and water see-through. one can walk 50 meters before it drops deep. food is good. the staff are pretty friendly and helpful where they can. the rooms are roomy and clean. an outside swimmming pool is available. but here, one should not expect a 1st-class resort.

I took normal room but since I request for free upgrade for my wife birthday. I was provided with sea view. Staff are really friendly. Important when u go Songkhla the main thing is to take the a picture with the mermaid. The statue and happening place just 50metres walking distance. This will be the best hotel to be choose.

Hotel by Samila Beach, Songkhla ”

If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel by the beach, BP Samila Beach would be a perfect choice. It's just a walk away for the famous mermaid statue. However, this hotel has been living past its glory days and has been quite rundown. Rooms are big and clean though. The front desk staffs are extremely helpful.

Great Find!”

We were concerned because of some reviews, but this place is great! Yes, the hotel is dated, but it actually adds to the atmosphere. The rooms are large, bright and airy. The water is hot-a good thing. Even though we were on the top floor, wifi still worked for general use. It wasn't perfect wifi, but it was good enough. Less than a five minute walk to the beautiful Samila beach. Restaurant food was very good and not too pricey.

Nice view and surroundings”

Good quality and value for money. You can bring your golf sets along. Very nice view and beautiful scenery along the beach. A perfect place if you want to visit Songkhla such as Songkhla Zoo, Tang Kuan Hill, Waterfall, Aquarium.
