Kitakagaya Station is great for access to Namba. Situated in a less hectic part of Osaka close by to parks and Great Onsens. A highlight would Super Onsen (Yutara Onsen@720-770yen) that is open until 2am, last entry 1am. if you want to be away from the crowds and soak in the neighbourhoods, you have your wish granted at Air Osaka Hostel. Best to take up the twin/triple tatami rooms you are in a group.

It was nice facilities for a very low price. Towel and shower amenities are given. There is wifi and tv in the lounge and everything was clean. The beds are hard and the bottom bunk feels a bit tight and doesn't get much air compared to the top bunk. Be warned they do not turn the lights off at night but each bed is closed off with a screen. Also you must pay for lockers but they'll do free bag storage at the desk during the day. It is far away from everything including stores and the train station. They do have a free shuttle to take you to the station but I do not know if pick up is available. I went to summer sonic music festival at maishima sports island so it was a great location (30 min walk over the bridge). I enjoyed my stay but if you do not have business in the area I wouldn't recommend it.

My 2nd stay here though its a 1st one for both hubby and kiddoh! Oh well, Just didnt get enuf of it the 1st tym..haha! A really great hostel with very friendly staff. Rio is so helpful with the train maps. Mika is sucha friendly sweet looking gal. And my lil gurl got so attached to the bubbly and super friendly n smiley face receptionist Maki! Not only her but even to another taiwanese gap who was there for her holidays with her family. Coz we have all the time to mingle with all the diff kindof people who stays here at the lounge area. Plus sucha kids friendly place where my daughter doesnt even wanna leave for anywhere but stay all the way at the hostel itself to play at their play area with all their soft toys and other toys plus colouring corner and all...we could just chill at the dinning area with a hot drink or relax on the sofa while she plays all the way just right under our eye. Just a station away from the USJ and afew stns away from the aquarium and ferris wheel and lego land discovery centre. No convience store nearby though but you can always buy back stuff on your way back from your trips around and store them in the fridge and cook to have your meals. What more can you ask for. No heart to leave...esp for my 5yr old! Cnt wait to be back again J-hoppers! Keep rockin!

Stayed here for 5 days. Met aki and another lady (which i forgot to ask her name). Both are lovely, and friendly and very helpful. The other lady eventhough she cant speak in english, she tried very hard to explain to us regarding the place. The location is a bit at the outskirts which was fine for me as it was not too noisy. The toilets are clean and shampoo+conditioner provided, for free! Nearest station (suminokoen subway st - yotsubashi line) which is about 5-10 minutes walk. There’s also lawson and family mart nearby if you want to buy some on the go snacks, and mcD (in case you have middle of the night food cravings lol) I enjoyed my stay there. Thank you hotel river forest for the hospitality ❤️

The location of the place is good. The value for money is okey. But whats disappointing is that the Front Office Agents doesnt know how to speak english. Its really hard taking to them. They cant help you with your inquiries. They didnt even know that there is a direct train from Taisho ( their location ) to Kansai Airport. The inquiry was in Japanese ( i asked the other guests at the hostel to translate the inquiry ). That doesnt end there. My flight is at 8:40 pm.So I checked out before 11am because it is the hotel's policy. But I left my stuff at the common area and came back at the hotel before 1pm. I was staying at the reception to google the way to the airport where the old lady from the reception asked me to leave! She was really asking me to leave because she said that the check out is at 11am. I asked her if i can just go out and come back for my stuff but she insisted I have to leave and I can't stay. Very poor customer service. Will never recommend this hotel

Loved the place. It's only a 5 to 10 min walk from the nearest train station. The place is comfortable, they clean everyday, the owner is always available to answer your questions, give you suggestions and help. They even have their little restaurant downstairs and wifi is working well. Definitely recommand it if you visit Osaka. It's easy to go wherever you want from there.

Twin room is pretty big than photo. There is suit case and enough space to put luggages. This hotel is very neat and clean. Just left side of JR Noda St. The bed and pillows are very sofe so you may rest well during the nights. My family &I stayed at Universal Bay Condominium for 6 nights. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The staff here really provide 5 star services. We enjoyed our stay here because : 1. The location is very strategic : very close to convenient stores, the Osaka Aquarium within walking distance, the apartment is surrounded by many reataurants and the train station is only 5 minutes from the apartment. 2. Spacious, very clean and fully equipped amenities 3. Free board games: the apartment provide various boardgames which my kids loved so much

Stayed at its sister hotel (La'gent Hotel Tokyo Bay) too before. We had good experience in both properties. Check in and check out were efficient and fast. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff were polite. Location was great. It was a 5 minute walk from the Sakurajima JR Train Station which was one stop away from the Universal City station. Perfect for travelers who are looking for an accommodation near Universal Studios Japan.

With its convenient location right within the Universal City Walk and just outside the JR station, the Keihan Universal City Hotel is one of the best bargains in the area. My reason for staying there was not because of its convenience to Universal Studios, but rather to attend a wedding at the nearby Arc en Ciel Wedding facility. I was very impressed by the hotel's breakfast buffet which offered a wide variety of both Western and Japanese breakfast foods. The rooms were clean, large and well equipped. I was able to use my computer with its LAN access as well as store my beverages in the refridgerator. Another plus were the hotel channels which offered 2 Universal movies non-stop from 3 pm-11 am. (I enjoyed watching the classic "Jaws.") The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. Even though I stayed at the hotel by myself, I noticed many family rooms with the Woody Woodpecker theme which I'm sure would be a delight for families and children. Although there are several hotels in the same area, I definitely think the Keihan is an excellent choice for your money.

Service was excellent. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Is a bit of a way out from center of Osaka but compensates with view of bay and free shuttles to major areas. Rooms are so spacious for the price. Free parking for those renting a car like we did at neighboring hotel parking space. We were so impressed with this place and was the best hotel and value for money during our whole time in Japan. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: As my title says, location-wise it is very convenient. Located in front of JR Osaka Loop line Taisho station while the osaka subway (light green line, cant remember the name of the line coz its too long lol) is just a few steps away as well (exit 2 Taisho stn) -Since its a new hotel (operating since Oct 2016) the facilities are new and clean. I hope they’ll be able to maintain it. Good ambiance all in all. -Excellent wifi connection -They have public bath (onsen?) - Breakfast is good. I stayed for 3 nights and had 3 breakfasts and noticed that the menu for Day 1 and Day 3 are the same. Hope they have more variety :) - Love the free drinks and some snacks from 2pm to 12mn Cons: -Room is small, a double room can barely fit my medium luggage. -Small shower area. But I like that they separated the toilet from the shower area and sink - Walls are not soundproof. You can hear people talking/laughing in the hallway

Pros: - Excellent service of staff (best amongst all the hostels i stayed!) - Spacious room and bed - Many food locations within walking distance from the hostel (Right next to the hostel, i ate the best takoyaki ever!!) -Nice common area to chill (nice music playlist!) - 2-min walk to train station with both JR and Hankyu line Cons: - Shower room is a little small

One station from the USJ. Cheaper than hotels located in front of the USJ but still very convenient if you don't want to spend much time travelling from and to the USJ. The room was very clean and not too small. Next to the 7-11, very convenient. Everything was excellent except the staff was not very welcoming. He didn't smile and didn't speak with Japanese usual level of politeness. For example, when I phoned to asked the staff if I can drop my bag before check-in time (in Japanese) His answer was just "できないです” (you can't) or when I did the check-in he just said "passport" "fill this" "read this" "ok?" and shut the window just like that and I was kinda shock because that's not how the Japanese do things especially to the guest. But not that I was upset, it's just weird and we were making jokes about it honestly.

It's a little off the usual tourist spots but if you're headed to Universal Studios, this place is great for its proximity. The rooms are small but charming, beds are comfortable, sheets are divine and you can even do your laundry on one of the floors! We were only there for 2 nights so didn't get to explore the area nearby much but there're quite a number of convenience stores in vicinity. We also didn't get to try the vinyl players in the rooms, what a shame! Their counter staff was a really friendly guy who spoke good English and was incredibly helpful but never over lingered. We absolutely loved our stay here and we would definitely return! Love the iced latte we ordered at the hotel too!

If you're quite on budget but still want to stay in a hotel that is very near to USJ, this is the best place for you. A few minutes walk and you're there. I love how friendly the staff are. They even help us to get the room we wanted since our agent messed up our booking. The place was accessible to almost all shops and you have variety of choices of food resto. The place was so clean and staff were very accommodating. The only difficulty we had was communication. Not all can speak english so may want to learn to speak a bit of japanese. I would like to stay there again if ever we visit japan again.

My family of four planned to visit the aquarium and other places in Osaka. Hotel Seagull Tempozan was very close, within walking distance to the aquarium. The rooms were very small, but the location, service, and price were excellent. We appreciated how clean the rooms were and how the staff attempted to speak some English. We will definitely stay again when visiting the area.

Checking in was funny like other reviewers said, but we did it without problem despite disconnected from operator half way and everyone had a good laugh haha. Smack right beside Dekijima Station which means getting around is easy! From the Dekijima to Nishikujō Station which you do most of the transfers to Universal-City station, Osaka loop lines etc. We went to Hiroshima, Kobe and even Tottori from here without problem! Surrounding was full of markets. convenience stores and eaters, lovely neighbourhood which was super quite at night. However, if you're light sleeper you may need to take note that you can hear the train passing by, for us it's ok. We stayed at 4th floor and the bed was fantastic! Highly recommended, if you don't mind extra 20mins so travel time, compared to staying in busy Namba area

It was our first time in Osaka & in Japan. Miss Kawahira made sure that we were treated well & that we had the best experience at Hotel Universal Port Vita. She personally wrote us a card to wish us a Happy 28th Wedding Anniversary. Miss Kawahira has excellent work ethics, is dedicated to her job and has a welcoming & caring personality. She went out of her way by providing us with clear instructions on how to get from Yokohama to Hotel Universal Port Vita by the Shinkansen train & then to Lake Biwa by the JR train. She recommended us to some areas of interest & even walked us to the pier to catch our boat ride to the Port of Osaka. I hope her manager will recognize Miss Kawahira for a job well done & make sure that she receives the employee of the month award for her outstanding service. Thank you, Hotel Universal Port Vita, for having such an exemplary employee work for you. Because of people like Miss Kawahira, we will stay at your hotel again. Mr. & Mrs. T. USA
