Well...I think nothing describes our experience better than this: We had 30 days in Indonesia and we planned to spend the first ones in Brown Bamboo. Guess what, we ended up spending all 30 days in Brown Bamboo. Why? Well, first of all the Value for Money is by far the best we had now in 2 years full time travelling. The facilities are way better than what we had e.g. in Philippines or Malaysia where we paid about 8 times the price. There is also so much to do in bukit lawang (Jungle, Orang Utan, Snake spotting, walking along the river, caves, Landak River, etc...) that those 30 days vanished pretty fast. The rooms are great, you have your own bathroom with toilet and shower, a large bed (nice for me as I am almost 2m tall) with a moskito net which is a big plus. You can easily relax in from of your room as you have a table and comfortable chairs, have a free coconut from one of the trees or just watch the river flowing by. Last but not least the main reason we spend the whole month their was the staff and Gia & Sri. The owners are amazing, they provided us with all the information we needed, organized tours, airport transport, etc. for us. They also gave us several lifts to the nearest ATM where there are no fees which is about 10km away in Bahorok. They showed us around and even took us on a trip into the jungle to a small place near Landak River where we enjoyed a big BBQ with them and their friends & family and could stay a night there. We wish Gia, Sri & Menda as well as all other staff all the best and will be back next year! :-) Cheers, Sanni & Philipp

Some showers weren’t working well

They picked me up from the bus station and brought me to the bus when I leaved. It was a quiet place with interesting bathroom. They arrange trek to the national park. The food is good and cheap.
