Sandpiper Hotel Kuala Lumpur

"The reception speaks very good English and very helpful. Breakfast is good. The room has a kettle and a fridge. Wifi is not the best. The location is good in theory. Close to china town and right infront of pudu sentral station. Actually the surrounding is the worst. Many beggars and men look strange. Many talk to themselves, some have their shirts on, lots of sexual herrassment right infront of my eyes, a man opening his zipper and showing his private parts and grabbing girls on the street. The area including chinatown is not safe for girls at all. "

The 5 Elements Hotel
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"The 5th Element Hotel is a great budget option for staying around Chinatown. I've stayed in several sub $50 hotels in Chinatown and they've been horrid, and this hotel was only a fraction more but really quite nice. We were able to check in to all 3 rooms we'd booked at 11am which was fantastic after an overnight flight, and we were delighted to find our rooms had views over Chinatown and we could clearly see both the KL Tower and Petronas Towers - fantastic! Breakfast was adequate but pretty ordinary, but that's pretty much the norm in lower end KL hotels. Close to Chinatown (literally right in the heart of it), the Central Markets and train stations for access to the rest of KL, I highly recommend this hotel. The street outside the hotel has some of the best street food in all of KL, make sure you try the chicken satays, roti bom and claypot chicken and rice!"

Arenaa Star Hotel
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"I checked into Arenaa Star on the 21st October and stayed here for 2 nights. It was a very pleasant stay. First and foremost after putting down my luggage, I ventured to the hotel's open air restaurant located on the Mezzanine floor. The seafood olio oglio I ordered was good. I also tried grilled chicken and lamb chop on subsequent days and they are all ridiculously cheap yet extremely tasty. Wow! The friendly and courteous staffs made the ambience all the more better. When it comes to the accomodation, I must say that it has the coziest bed and pillows for you to rest after a long walk tour around KL which you can easiy access via the LRT and is just a walking distance from Chinatown. Not to mention the big and modern bathroom, flat wide screen tv and various themes that represents each floor. For example the 1st Floor represents the Malaysian stars thus you will see the portraits of the local entertainers painted on the wall along the hallways to every hotel room. Not to mention the Hollywood, Bollywood, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea etc. You might have a pleasant surprise to see that one of them happens to be your favourite! So in conclusion, Arenaa Stars lives up to its name and is very recommendable for the budget value and comfort. "

AnCasa Hotel Kuala Lumpur by Ancasa Hotels and Resorts
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"I booked 6 hotels with added bed in each room for our family of 20s. All rooms were ready to welcome us. Staffs were friendly n helpful. One of our room experienced choked n staff turn up almost immediately n got problem solved within minutes. The best part of all are the free wireless surrounded the whole hotel u can surf wherever u are. Breakfast was sumptuous with wide varieties. Down the street is the happening Chinatown, a place where you can buy all replica brands with good bargaining. Getting to Timesquare is hasseless as taxi is easily available. A trip will cost u around $10 with meter or $15 for non meter. This is my sixth stayed in this hotel and every year they are improving in terms of cleanliness n hospitality. I strongly recommend this hotel the choice n only choice. Cheap n good! "

Dragon Inn Premium Hotel Kuala Lumpur
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"I booked the same day we checked in. (I was with my parents). Literally next to "Chinatown" or Petaling Street. Our room was in level 5, good thing that it has water dispenser at the hallway if you want to have a cup of instant coffee which we bought, not provided by the hotel. Typical 2 single beds & 1 folding bed, toilet, shower, towels. Bring your toiletries as there are no soap & shampoo. There's a canteen or "Malay" hawker beside the hotel if you want to try local food. Convenient stores are nearby also."

Agosto Guesthouse
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Right next to the LRT (Pasar Seni, one stop from Sentral) and the bus lines (there's a free bus too), good cheap lunchtime Indian food right out of the door, chinatown tourist street is nearby if you find value in that, clean place, friendly staff, shower toilets are combined (so there is always water on the floor from the shower but that's ok, where flips if it bothers you), lockers in room, privacy curtains, personal fan in bunk which is great for when the AC is off, 2 additional outlets in the bunk (lack of personal lighting though, not a big deal) ... most importantly to me, bunks are immune to movement by other people. Good value for the money."
