Great Southern Hotel Sydney
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"My wife and I stayed here as we had a night out and wanted something not too expensive. The hotel is very close to the city centre and the fact that it's based in Chinatown, there are no shortages of transport, food and activity options. The room condition was clean and tidy, but I do feel that the 4 star rating is a bit overrated, with 3.5 stars at best. Having said that, that shouldn't be a detractor when considering this hotel, as it is definitely an option to consider if you want a non-fancy accommodation at a decent price per night."

"Blink and you’ll miss Breakfree on George, however this is a very impressive hotel nestled in the busy streets of Sydney’s central area. We stayed for two nights and were surprised with large rooms, apartment type facilities (e.g. kitchen and laundry) and really enjoyed the close proximity to all of Sydney. The benefit of being so close to Chinatown means there is no end to the tasty, fast and cheap eats around! We walked between the hotel and Darling Harbour, Oxford and Pitt street, although public transport is nearby it is certainly optional. "

Metro Aspire Hotel Sydney
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Darling Harbour is only a a 15 minute walk from Metro Aspire. I was here for work and had to be at the ICC daily and the walk was very easy. There are very good priced places to eat nearby and the Gum Tree (restaurant at Metro) also has a very reasonably priced menu (compared to places at Darling Harbour). Closest public transport is the light rail which is about a 10 minute walk to the Chinatown station. The light rail does not have as many stops as the main train but this connects to Central Station if you wan to get to the main train line. Chinatown station is right in from of Paddy's market which is great for food stops and fresh fruit. The room is very big. So much bigger than what I expected for a Sydney Hotel at the price that we paid. The rooms are very clean and cleaned daily. My son was with me and loved the bath tub in the room's bathroom. The best thing about Metro is the staff! Everyone is absolutely helpful and very friendly. I cannot say anything bad about this place. Highly recommended."

"It was actually my second time here. Nice hotel in chinatown area, very central. Foods are available in every corner. Decent room even it was a bit small. Lovely bed and polite staff. Not hesitate to book here again."
