E-outfitting Golden Country Hotel
Eastern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"My first local trip in this year since Covid 19. E outfitting applied health prevention measure well. If you would like to stay the hotel with outdoor swimming pools, gym and restaurant within city areas, E outfitting will be very few of them and you can chill with those facilities. Almost 24 hours tea house is also just beside this hotel. Chills and enjoy!! "

Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar
Eastern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"After disembarking about 5 a.m. from Myanmar's answer to the Iraqi torture chamber - the Yangon to Mandalay train, my friend and I limped into a 'taxi' and arrived at the Shwe Pyi Thar Hotel about 5.30 a.m. We hoped to store our luggage and find a spot on a floor somewhere so we could recover. However, after looking at our twisted, battered bodies the amazingly empathetic staff booked us straight into our room and even offered us a free breakfast, which I declined but my friend enjoyed. Our stay at this beautiful hotel was enough to restore my faith in Myanmar hospitality and humanity. If ever I return to Mandalay, a stay in the Shwe Pyi Thar will be mandatory."

Palace View Hotel
Central Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"We loved this hotel! The free breakfast was incredible and the staff were so incredibly sweet and attentive. The first night we stayed we got an enormous room that we loved - the second time we got a much smaller room, but it had more of a view. It was unbearably hot outside in Mandalay so we were so happy to have this oasis to retreat to - we would take a walk to the palace or out to the night market (which is pretty close and definitely worth the trip!) and then come back for some cool air. We loved the OJ and fruit upon arrival too. The best part of all was eating the delicious breakfast in the chilled restaurant with a full view onto the palace and its moat and surrounding park. Loved it!"

Yadanarpon Dynasty Hotel
Eastern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"Yadanarpon is well located close to the old palace and a few minutes in a taxi from downtown Mandalay. Room was good, everything worked. Wifi was pretty good for Myanmar, best I had during my stay in the country. Staff were really good, went out of their way to help. My Burmese is pretty bad so a bit of patience and everything got done. Rooftop bar isn't really one, they rollout a few tables at sunset. In fact, I don't think there was a bar there at all. It's just a couple of minutes walk down the road to street stalls and restaurants anyway, no problem. Close to sunset a loud noise emanated from some contraption near reception which then started to give off clouds of toxic smelling smoke, I had to close the balcony doors. Apparently it was to kill mossies.....(sledgehammer..walnut etc) Good hotel. If you're traveling in Myanmar you'll soon get used to the different hotel standards and learn not to be too picky about the small things. I'd stay there again"

Ayarwaddy River View Hotel
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"This is one of the few river-side hotels in Mandalay, but as a result, is about 3k from the centre of town. There aren't many shops ot restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean, well equipped with good wi-fi. We had a rear-facing room, which are much cooler and quieter than the front, river-view rooms that overlook a busy road with hot afternoon sun. The breakfast buffet is vast. The staff are superb - well-trained, speak English and couldn't do enough for you. The top feature of this hotel is the roof-top bar and restaurant, with sweeping views over the river. The bar serves a complimentary, free-flow cocktail of the day to hotel guests daily, for the duration of the spectacular sunset over the river.. Recommended."

Royal Yadanarbon Hotel
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"I really enjoyed my time there, its very rare I rate a place 100% but the royal yadanarbon deserves it. Firstly, its rated as a 2 star.. and it feels better than that. The room was fully equipped with a great bed, fridge, quiet a/c and a hot shower. It was cleaned every day and the staff were wonderful and really helpful without exception. The breakfast was buffet and whilst the food was mainly local, (which I love) I also asked, and got fried eggs as extra.. just a caviet, I mainly travel with a back pack so I am use to (at times) some average and often grimy places. The royal yadanarbon by contrast was exceptionally clean and a joy to stay in and by far the best place in my stay in myanmar. Mandalay is noisy, dusty and a beautiful but sometimes a challanging city for people who my want to travel but not like getting too far out of their comfort zone.. this small hotel is an oasis of calm.. Ostello Bello Mandalay
Central Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"I had some really bad hostels and hotels in Myanmar. I was very happy about this one. The staff was very friendly, the room spacious and clean, breakfast was ok. The program they offer makes it easy to meet other travellers and to do activities for a fair price. My only feedback would be that they could share more detailed informations because all of us had different information about the length of this activities. The roof top is amazing. You can watch the sunset, have a beer, enjoy the free cigars if you want, relax and enjoy your day. You have free water, coffee and tea in the hostel and I enjoyed that a lot. The decoration in the hostel is very pretty with nice wall paintings on all floors. I heard even better feedback of the ostello Bello in bagan. I can definitely recommend ostello Bello mandalay. But book online- for some reason that's cheaper than booking with them. Thank you for a nice stay"

The Home Hotel
Central Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
" Brilliant hotel in Mandalay with good English speaking staff. Staff go out of there way to help and assist you with all your needs and queries. Hotel is down a small alleyway but there are staff on the main road all day waiting for any drop offs/pick ups and they carry your bags. As mentioned before hotel has no escalator but bags are carried up and down for you. Hotel is very clean.....the only negative I could point out was bed sheets smelt abit musty. Hotel arranged a driver tour for the day for me and also my onward bus travel to Bagan with hotel pick up and drop off at destination for reasonable price. Breakfast was good.....what seems to be the standard in Myanmar...tea, coffee, fresh juices, eggs (cooked to your choice) hot food such as noddles etc and various bread options. the hotel also recommend various restaurant which are nearby.....I can recommended the local BBQ restaurant on the street just opposite - fabulous fresh food and not to worry about hygiene as it is all cooked there in front of you. I also tried the Thai restaurant (Thai Mhat? I think) that the hotel recommended.....best meal I had in all of Myanmar....reasonably priced, nice air con surroundings, good service and of course a fabulous meal. All in all I would recommend you to stay in during your time in Mandalay and it was also great value for money. "

Hotel by the Red Canal Mandalay
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"We stayed 3 nights at the red canal and could not fault the staff or hotel, they were very attentive and helpful. Excellent service and great rooms, the food was great and all the staff happy. We had one of the best meals on our trip at red canal, they also organised a taxi to take us round the sights of Mandalay which was a big help and we loved Mandalay Hill view. This hotel is setting the standard for others in Mandalay and if back in Mandalay will return."

Golden Dream Hotel
Western Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"After having some less than satisfactory experience with hotels in Myanmar - with one or two exceptions - we were more than pleasantly surprised by Golden Dream, which lived up to its name. Located in an old quarter of Mandalay (there is a neat old shop-style market just around the corner), Golden Dream is a newer hotel which seems almost out of place in its surroundings. From the very start, the friendly and attentive staff made every effort to make us feel welcome and taken care of. We loved the rooftop restaurant, where the breakfast, though standard fare, was adequate and fresh. The room was comfortable and impeccably clean, as was the bathroom. No hesitation in highly recommending this lovely hotel."
