Great hotel to relax near Kumamoto Airport”
10 minute walk from Higo-Ozu JR station. Nice onsen on the top floor overlooking the suburb. I definitely will come again when I need a comfortable stay near the airport. Breakfast also surprisingly enjoyable.

Wifi was slow”
I wake up early in the morning 4:30. And at that time wifi was working nice and really fast but in the afternoon or at night it was super slow that I had to wait for my e-mails with some pictures attached sent for an hour.

Luxurious alternative to staying in Kumamoto”
In my case, the hotel room (Queen bed, non-smoking) I occupied for 2 days was pretty comfortable despite being in fringe city: modern furnishings, good size television, memory foam bed (I think), full Toto bathroom equipment (though the showerhead was pretty weak), and spacious. I didn’t use the onsite onsen (not sure if it is a natural or artificial onsen) or the laundry facilities (there’s an off site laundromat just a 5 minutes walk a ways); but judging from the frequent occupation of the onsen, I guess it’s good. Breakfast was good; it really does feel there is a sincere effort in deciding the daily Japanese/continental breakfast buffet menu. The surround area is also great; local eateries are easily accessed, and there’s an Aeon near for stocking up; my only qualm is that it is located behind a funeral parlour. For the times when Kumamoto was too expensive, and if travel is for somewhere closer to elsewhere, e.g., Aso or Kurokawa, Candeo Hotel Ozu looks and feels good.

I stayed here for a night. The room was very clean and safe for solo female traveler. It’s located not far from the train station. Very convenient for people who travel with public transportation.

The room firstly assigned by the hotel at checkin was at 3 floor , not at higher level and a non smoking room. The replaced room at 8 floor did not have smoking smell but the central air conditioning cannot be adjusted . It was so cool in the room. The parking area is convenient and there are a lot of restaurants around .
