We really love this place as everything are great. Staffs are really polite and helpful. The room might not so big but beautiful and clean. The public bath also good. Breakfast is very good. But location is a bit far. But if you travel by car there is no problem because the hotel is located just a few minutes to the highway. Free parking for guests.

We stayed a night on the way somewhere else. It is pretty good. Not our first stay in a Candeo. Because of the virus, our breakfast was so so. \But, for the money, it is a good place to stay, and the rooftop hot spring is excellent.

Small Rooms but Accommodating Staff ”
We reserved this hotel as a stop on the way to Kyoto from Tokyo. . The location is very convenient and near the highway, but the rooms are so small that we needed two rooms for our family of four.

New hotel so the place was clean and had that "new car" smell. one bath on the rooftop that rotates times between men and women. Its great because the bath is huge and it would have been a pity to create two smaller baths.

Nice hotel but a long way from anywhere....”
We stayed here to be able to attend a game of the Rugby World Cup at Shizuoka Stadium, but found that the hotel was quite a long way from the nearest train stations (Shimada and Rokugo- taxis to the hotel were slightly cheaper from the latter station, at around 2100Y). None of the staff seemed too sure about where to go to get a bus to Shimada station- we waited for a long time at a stop a couple of hundred meters up the road and a bus never came- and, in spite of otherwise excellent staff performance and courtesy, I rated staff as only "good". There does not seem to be much to see in the vicinity of the hotel, but the area has a pleasant small-city aspect. The room itself was nice and we had a view of Mt Fuji (I think) from our room. But overall this is a nice hotel with pleasant helpful staff and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

I enjoyed staying at the Candeo Hotel Shimada quite a bit. Positives: - Very clean. - Nice and helpful staff. - English was a possibility. - Comfy beds and good shower. - I woke up to a view of Mt. Fuji from by bedroom! Drawbacks: (not always negatives, something to be aware) - Seems ideal for Japanese travelers who have cars (right off the highway) or who are using the nearby Shizuoka airport. - I was attending a conference in Shizuoka without a car. I ended up hear because closer hotels were booked or too expensive. (Even still, this was my most expensive hotel of the 4 I stayed in while in Japan) - Taxi cost 25$ from the nearby train station. - Once I was at the hotel they explained a bus route that takes you all the way into the main Shizuoka Station in about ~35mins for 6$. This was very convenient for the most part and how I got to and from the hotel. It runs twice an hour from a stop a block and a half down the road. It also runs until 10:30-11:30 at night.

スカイスパは男女入れ替え制なので､少し不便を感じましたがお風呂はとても良かったです… お湯がぬるめだったので、もう少し温かいと良いなぁ…と思いました… サウナも高温で良かったです。 アメニティグッズも充実していました。 朝食は櫃まぶしもあり満足でした… 宿泊料金が安く、大浴場もあり朝食も美味しかったし、アメニティグッズも充実していたし大満足でした。 静岡に行く時は是非また利用させてもらいたいと思います…

早朝の富士山と日の出が最高！”
平日の宿泊のためか大浴場が空いていて、早朝は約1時間、富士山と日の出を露天風呂で独り占めできました！チェアに横たわりながら富士山が眺められるなんて感動でした！ 夜間の女性の大浴場は21:45〜だったのですが、オリンピックのサッカーを観てたらすぐでした。外国人スタッフも慣れない日本語で一生懸命に伝えてくれて嬉しくなりました。部屋にはバスタブが無い部屋でしたが、最上階で大浴場と同じ9階だったのでむしろ近くて便利でした。 部屋は普通ですが清潔で、必要な物はあるし、何気にしじみ風味噌汁もあって、大満足でした。 島田駅から徒歩で蓬莱橋まで行き、そこの近くのバス停からホテルにいきましたが、井口堺で降りてすぐでした。また、ホテルから静岡駅までも、吉田インター入口バス停から特急バスが出ていて、バスで行くのも便利だと思います。
