Great Stay in the heart of Sydney”
Castlereagh Boutique Hotel offers a great location, right in the heart of Sydney City. Staff members are welcoming and friendly, and provide excellent customer service. They know the local area and could advise us on how to get to tourist places. The hotel also offers a pickup service for you and your luggage back to the airport at a very reasonable price. Just book the day before you are leaving. The rooms are clean and tidy. They are rather small, but we were out exploring the town and only used it to sleep in.

Location, location, location! ”
The Castlereagh Boutique Hotel is placed in the heart of Sydney's CBD. It was so easy to walk around at any hour. Its unique historical ambience combines with comfort and a super breakfast deal to make anyone's stay in Sydney easy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Julie.x”
Gorgeous historical little gem of a hotel, with a beautiful foyer, bar, dinning room. Rooms are very small , with no views from window, but are clean and fully functional. Staff are very professional and friendly asking after your day and giving suggestions on where to go and what to see. The hotel is in a fabulous location and made my stay in Sydney so great. I would stay at Castlereagh Boutique Hotel again in a heartbeat.

Castlereagh Boutique hotel”
The Castlereagh Boutique hotel is conveniently located only a few minutes walk from St James station and opposite a bus stop. Major CBD tourist attractions are also located very close by. The hotel lobby is very elegant and impressive. The staff are very willing to help, polite and the evening receptionist was even happy to take photos of my friend and I in the lobby when asked and the photos turned out great!

castlereagh”
stayed in castlereagh hotel for 3 nights. it was a positive experience, rooms were clean, staff were polite and extremely helpful. castlereagh is best situated for tourists and close to sydney harbour and china town. food and drinks were good, although some updating might be desirable, considering its location and value for money it is highly recommended

Erhan from Istanbul”
This hotel is very central in Sydney CBD. Its location is perfect and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn't have any major complaints about the room other than its being rather small. On the other hand, power outlets were not very convenient for charging cell phone or a laptop because the outlets are on the ground level and some of them are behind some cabinets. Another minor detail was that the safe in the room was way up in the closet. I am 5'10 or 177cm and I could barely see what is inside. However, I definitely recommend the hotel.

Comfortable stay in this very well-located hotel”
When they allowed me to check in at half eight in the morning, I was already ecstatic because I just arrived from a grueling 7-hour flight. When I discovered how Hyde Park, Starbucks, Woolworths, Pitt Street and Town Hall Station were all just one block away, I was very pleased. It's not as luxurious as the 5-star hotels nearby, but the place has character and you really get huge value for your money. If I ever go back to Sydney regularly, I would make Castlereagh Hotel my official residence.

Great location but small rooms”
Stayed at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel on our trip to Sydney. We arrived from the Blue Mountains via train, and from the train station (Museum) it was a 10mins walk to the hotel. Hotel is not very prominent and we actually walked past it without knowing and had to make a detour. Dragging your 20kg luggage and doing that is not a good experience! Hotel location is really good, just a street adjacent to Elizabeth Street, which is the main shopping street. After checking in at 8pm, we could still afford to do some late night shopping (thurs is their late night shopping in Sydney) and then walked to chinatown (15-20mins) for supper. Staff at reception were quite helpful when asking for directions, although it seems like its their culture to walk in Sydney. Whenever I asked for directions to a particular place, they would firstly tell me that I had to walk for x mins to reach my destination. Rooms were quite small, and for us having 2x 20kg cabin luggages, and with a few shopping bags, we barely had room to walk in half of the room. Rooms were also a little too hot for winter, and we couldnt really adjust via the room's aircon remote. Were told that it was actually controlled by the floor's main control.

Ideally located quiet boutique hotel”
The Castlereagh is superbly located in the CBD of Sydney. It is a welcoming oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city and the hotel's architecture and furnishings reflect a bold yet simpler time. This was our second visit and we highly recommend to travellers.

classy hotel at the heart of the city”
I stayed in Sydney to enjoy fireworks for the NYE. It was reallly difficult to find a place to stay even in July because many hotels in CBD are already booked or unbelievably expensive. I happened to find that this hotel had still several rooms and the price was affordable so I booked without hesitation. The interior of the hotel was so celegant and classy that you would think you are in Europe. If there is something to improve, high speed internet service was not very high speed. However, it is not a big problem as long as you just stay and go sightseeing. Anyway, I would like to stay again when I come to Sydney next time.

Lovely”
We booked this hotel at 9pm after a very long day: 43 degree heat in November and a delayed flight to the next morning. We found a great rate on Agoda, which became even better when we checked in and saw how nice the room is. Louis at the front desk was lovely, and the lobby is beautiful -- it reminded us of some European hotels as well as the Excelsior in New York. The room was small, but with a nice big window and cosy furnishings. The Castlereagh has thankfully not fallen victim to the contemporary hotel design hive-mind (we especially appreciated the wooden headboard and the impressionist streetscape artwork). We also liked that the window opened as there was a beautiful breeze coming in after a very hot day (though, mind you, the hotel's a/c is in perfect working order). Overall, a lovely, historical, European hotel in a central location.

well worth a visit”
We stayed at this hotel for a week when attending a wedding, Lovely hotel, it a bit like stepping back in time to the 50s.. but with updated facilities A few teething problemms on arrival, but quickly sorted by friendly manager and staff, who were happy to sort any issues, rooms are a bit on the small side but comfortable, with everything you need. The hotel is well positioned for central Sydney and transport links. I We loved our time at this hotel and would visit again if in Sydney.

Prime located at Sydney CBD ”
Such a prime location at Sydney CBD where you could reach to at least 5 Train Stations, Tons of restaurants, Main shopping hub, entertainment, sightseeing places, Supermarket, Parks and more. Housekeeping everyday and such a nice clean keeping. Staffs are helpful. Nothing much facilities found but that's ok since the location is such an awesome like this. Would recommend to my companies who come to Sydney for both of business or leisure.

One Night Stay”
My review is based on an extremely short stay of one night (less than ten hours at best). The location was brilliant. It was a short walk away from the train station, and therefore very convenient to get about Sydney. The hotel was pleasant in that it had a bit of a classic old feel to it. I booked a double bed room for two. The room was rather small and tight-spaced, but it was not terribly hard to move around. The room and toilet were clean and tidy. Although, if memory serves me right, the toilet lacked an extraction fan. I'm not sure if it's purely because the hotel is old or that they have yet to install some upgrades in the rooms. Also, the lighting in the room was quite dim, and the room had no view (although I wasn't too fussed about this). As for the service, it was okay. Overall, my stay was fine. I didn't spend much time at the hotel, so I wasn't displeased at all. There isn't anything in particular that would prevent me from staying here again. Although, there isn't anything that draws me to this place that would make me feel like I wish to stay here again as well.

Castelreiegh Boutique Hotel”
This is a wonderful hotel located in the heart of the CBD. It is within walking distance. It is tasefully decorated in period style with photos of old Sydney. Unlike many of it counterparts the rooms are similarly furnished but with modern, if small bathrooms.

Just Enough and No More”
Travelling and doing business in CBD this presented the comfort and essentials necessary to fit requirements. Extra hot temperature shower. Cold fridge. Handy telly. Happy and helpful staff. Neat and tidy hotel. Historic building with 1920's decor. Most comfortable bed mattress I have experienced in 30 years of hotels in Sydney. I will be back.

Thank you!”
The staff here were superb. The location of the hotel made getting around the CBD just a short walk. It's an older style, but that just added character. I'm sure it will be the first hotel I check out for availability on my next trip to Sydney
