A great get away in a quaint boutique hotel!”

This was my first time to stay at the Chalaroste Lanta Resort. The reviews on Agoda encouraged me to check it out and I'm not disappointed that I did. The biggest thing that impressed me was the personal attention given to guests by the resort's family run management. Mae and her husband Tae were quite visible and extremely attentive to the needs of the guests. I cannot thank them enough for their care and concern for my time there! The villas were roomy and clean. The breakfast was freshly prepared to order every day. There is a slight issue with odor coming from the bathroom drain but, from my experience, this seems to be par for the course at every venue I've used before in Lanta. The cleaning staff did place a folded towel over the drain and this helped quite a bit. The only disappointment I had was that there were no foreign language channels on the TV. But with a pretty good wifi network that was easily worked around. Thanks again to Mae, Tae and the housecleaning staff for their great care and concern. Oh, and I almost forgot, thanks to Latte also! :)

A very nice boutique hotel and salt swimming pool!!”

The room is so clean. We like the pool as the salt water and really clean. The breakfast is American breakfast but they cooked it fresh and testy. The owner and all staff is so friendly. The resort located in Klong Dao beach, every room you can go up to the roof top to see the beautiful ocean view. And location is so convenient, you can walk 5 mins to reach the beach , 7-11 and the restaurant also just 2.5 km. to Saladan town for night market. If you love the quiet and peaceful place to relax and warm place to stay in Koh Lanta. I recommended this place.

It’s all about family business to feel home”

We have been in Thailand for several days when we arrived at our last hotel - Chalaroste Lanta Resort. Our places before were loud and faceless. We were and we are still really surprised about the warm welcome of May and her husband. Both are so loving people. Right from the beginning they were taking care of everything and offered us support without being intrusive. During the stay we always had the feeling that they have an open ear for us - Servicegrade A+. The roomservice ladies doing a really good job as well. Even our worn clothes were merged. Also the room smelled really really good. Something we have missed at other locations before. The rooms are quite big and modern looking. The bed is extremely comfortable. The only disadvantage is the bathtub/shower. If you shower it could happen that you wet the main floor. Breakfast is depending on the season. Normally there is a buffet with toast, jam, Cornflakes etc. As we travelled not during main season May prepared a full packed breakfast with eggs/Omelett, bacon, fruits and a fresh juice - really nice and all time tasty! During our stay we rent a scooter from them. It was cheaper and without any hurdles you have with a rental company. We recommend this if you want to discover the whole island on your own. The beach is 5 minutes away and easy to reach by foot. The pool is cleaned and check everyday and equipped with a lot air mattresses and air animals. To sum it up - we can recommend this location. After weeks of backpacking we are able to relax and relieve stress. Next time we visit Thailand we definitely will come back to May and her husband! Sebastian + Aileen

Wonderful”

My husband and I got married in Koh Lanta, so we thought it perfect to have pool villas for us and our friends. We spent 4 nights in a group of 9 people at Chalaroste. The Resort is beautiful, the pool is great. The boss and staff were so very attentive to us and made up our bed for our wedding night. We enjoyed the size of the resort. With only 9 pool villas it really is a private resort which we shared with another big family group. It is not quite easy to find, because the street leading up to it is small and doesn't really look like a street. But it makes the resort much more special being "tucked away" up the hill. Like a secret resort. Thank you to the owner and the staff for making our stay so very special

This is an Amazing find. A family run Gem 💎 situated up a hill in beautiful lush green surroundings. A short walk from the main road. It has a very convenient 7/11 and lots of excellent beach bars and restaurants within walking distance. My family and I are a group of 10 who will definitely returning next year. We were greeted by Mai and Tai with such warmth. The bungalows are exceptionally clean. The beds and pillows are big and comfy. All bungalows have their own roof terrace with fantastic views of the sea and sunset. We have all hired scooters and arranged day trips with Mai very simply at good prices. Breakfast which is included in the price is exceptional. Fresh fruit, fresh filter coffee. Full English, cereal, pancakes. And a salad bar. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Koh Lanta. The clean fresh swimming pool, is a real bonus on a hot day. The accommodation is also child friendly.

A beautiful private place”

We had such a beautiful time at Chalaroste. It is a small private resort (9 bungalows) The bungalows are all situated around the most cleanest pool you will see in Thailand. (It is cleaned everyday) The bungalows are well equiped and very clean (also every day!) As the hotel information says; it is not a resort on the beach but it is near the beach. Just a 200 mtrs walk and you are there. So you have best of both worlds (a quiet garden pool and a beach near by) I recommend this place to every one (elderly people, family with kids, couples etc) Because of the nice atmosphere, the pool, the bungalows and also the nice and friendly staff (the owner will help you with ever you need) I will definetly go back.

I stayed in Chalaroste for 10 days and had the best time ever. The hosts and the staff were so friendly and helpful, my room was immaculately cleaned every day and the property looks exactly like it does in the photos-absolutely stunning. Thanks for making my trip to Koh Lanta so special :)

Excellent!!!!”

We planned on two nights and stayed for a week!!!! Mae and her husband (and their dog, Latte) went out of their way to make our stay as easy and wonderful as possible. We rented scooters through them and they provided helmets and no passport was needed!!!! Mae, not only booked our boating excursion, but when we heard ppl on the boat paid less, she spoke to the company and got us the same reduced price. Mae also booked our way to Krabi airport. She was most helpful!!!! Breakfast was nice. Eggs, toast, salad, bacon, ham, fruit, cereal, coffee, etc. The staff even remembered what we had on day 1 and kept giving it to us the way we first asked. Great service!!!! Everything was clean. The pool is spectacular and no time restrictions which you see at other hotels. We loved the location, a 3 min walk to the beach. We had a roof deck and watched the most gorgeous sunsets. Word to the wise: bring bug spray- this island has more mosquitos than the rest for some reason! Even so, Ko Lanta was wonderful! We went to the waterfall and cave (if you go- no flip flops and get ready to sweat and get dirty, a highlight of our trip)! My husband got a tattoo on the pier and had a great experience! We did the walking street at night! Had a fancier night at The Frog and loved the live music. Highly recommend Ko Lanta if ur over the party scene! Everyone should stay with Mae!!!! Let's just say we felt like we were leaving family as we waved goodbye in the driveway!

Very friendly staff, scooter rental on site, great location”

We stayed 5 nights. Thanks to May, the host, for a warm welcome. If you have never been to Koh Lanta, it's an island where a scooter is a must. May has connections that will give you the best price: elephant trekking, scooter rentals, etc. May takes very good care of you and the housekeepers do an amazing job cleaning the room. The bathroom has a tub. The pool outside is awesome not like other hotels where the pool is not that deep. It was a rainy during our stay but we didn't let that hinder our vacation. After scootering the whole island this is the best location. It's close to the pier and street food. Lots of restaurants around as well. Down the hill is a 7-11 which is very convenient. May coordinated pickup from the airport to the hotel. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. The only downside is a few ants in the room, but it's Thailand.

Wow what can I say,about chalaroste.romantic.beautifull well kept rooms.swimming pool has sea water.great for all kinds couples families.very comfy beds,Mae and her husband are the owners.they made us feel so welcome from start to finish,will try make your stay memorable absolutely lovely people and there staff and especially latte the dog,I would highly recommend chalaroste to anyone going to ko lanta,.restaurents and all convenience shops and beach is all close by,I would love and not hesitate to stay here again

Incredible Staff & Nice Rooms”

May and her husband completely made our stay on Ko Lanta. She made it so easy to rent a scooter, got us great deals on tours, gave us recommendations, and even helped us order a pizza. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice and helpful- it’s a family run place and it really shows. We had the included breakfast every morning and were stuffed full of toast, eggs, a variety of meats, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. The pool is an interesting design and had several fun floaties. Some of the other reviews mention a few bugs and a smell from the drain in the bathroom, which is true, however it was only noticeable occasionally and wasn’t strong enough to carry into the room. Don’t let that stop you from booking a room here. The bed was quite comfortable and the room was cleaned very thoroughly. We loved our stay here and hope to be back one day. Thanks for all your help May!!

Good Stay”

Came here with my family for a week. It's a lovely place with really helpful owners. It's not near the beach though, something to bear in mind when coming to Koh Lanta. It's up a very steep hill, but we were looking for something away from the hustle and bustle. Only a 10minute taxi ride from the pier. Would recommend for solo travellers or someone who prefers pools to beaches.

I stayed at chalaroste with my mum and brother and couldn't have made a better choice! The staff was so friendly and helpful, everything we booked was great and went so smooth! The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and eggs freshly made your way. The villa was perfect: enough space, awesome rooftop to chill, comfortable beds, nice bathroom and let's not forget the awesome pool. Chalaroste is located within walking distance to the beach! There is a 7/11 close and with scooters it's easy to explore the island. I would recommend it and stay there again.

Amazing Service, Great Room and Pool. ”

Me and wife have been to a couple of hotels in Koh Lanta and this one gave us the best experience. Amazingly caring and on the ball staff, great room, great pool and decent location. Because it's not a beach front property you do have to walk a bit to the beach and bars but either you don't mind a bit of a walk or you get a scooter like we did.

Lovely villa stay”

Small resort with 9 villas. Pool was amazing!!! Had even floats. Very peaceful. Breakfast is pretty basic but staff were lovely in organising transport (airport transfer as well as scooter rental). Can even book tours via the resort. Definitely will be back if I'm in Koh Lanta!

Peaceful Resort in Good Location”

An excellent resort in a very good location close to one of the best beach on the island. The short walk up a little road to the resort provides some lovely sea views and of the sunset from the villa roof. The rooms are spacious with everything you need and the resort is quiet and peaceful. The owners are an extremely nice couple, very helpful and knowledgeable about the island and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed over a week and managed to eat at good restaurants every night within walking distance. There's a 7Eleven, massage, shops and everything in close proximity. My only suggestion would be to remove the bath (no one want's a bath in a hot country) and replace it with a shower. The drain smell that some other reviewers have commented on is due to the mould around the bath and the dampness.

Awesome resort and staff”

Most friendly and helpful owners we have ever met. They give us motorbike for free during our stay and even borrowed SIM card when we leaved to contact taxi driver at the airport. They arranged everything we asked, transfers and so on. Location was excellent, 5 min walk from the beach and place was so peaceful. Pool was very beautiful. Villas were clean and the own roof top terrace was excellent with a nice view to the sea. Breakfast was so tasty and variable. Especially thai omelet was very tasty and yummy. Would definitely recommend this resort for everybody! So sincere and genuine people at this resort. We miss this place already.

Above and beyond customer service”

This is a beautiful little resort located a five minute walk from the beach. The little villas are very nice, but what really differentiates this hotel is the treatment by the owners. Renting a scooter direct was a piece of cake with no concerns, arranged transport back to krabi airport, etc etc, just no worries. Many great restaurants on the beach near this hotel. Easy bar and veed view both had great thai food, right on the beach. Ko bar is a simple sunset bar with beautuful mats over shaped sand for a drink at sunset. The young waiter also does firedancing! Laundry at hotel, or at the bottom of the hill on the main road for cheaper. 7 eleven also for any little things you need etc, with a rotee cart in the parking lot at night. Recommended hotel, as well as beach/island!

Good place”

A good resort to stay if wants privacy. Warm welcome from the staffs and owner. A good area with easy access to halal food places, massage parlour, beaches, convenience stores. A mosque nearby. However, miscommunicated about the breakfast package. In the app, we were given breakfast but denied when we are here. Did not want to make a big fuss so we had breakfast outside. Pool can be a bit more cleaner to swim. Wifi connection here has a big room for improvement. Overall, its a good stay!
