Good Price for Great Location”
Overall great stay. I will stay here again and won't need to look elsewhere. Clean, basic hotel. Great friendly, professional staff. Excellent location in Churchgate by Marine Drive. Pros: * Really great location for price. * Staff very friendly. They go out of their way to cater to your needs. * Hot breakfast provided as room service as late as 11AM. A hot masala omelette arrived literally 4 minutes after I ordered it and they cam back to clear the tray 15 minutes later. Stellar. * I could plug US plugs into the wall in a couple of places. Cons - most are minor - I'm thinking really hard to come up with these: * Rooms are basic and not luxurious. Do not plan on impressing your travel partner with this room. * You have to pay for internet (1000 Rs for 1 hour or 2500 for 24 hours, I think). * Bathroom toilet takes a fair amount of effort to get it to successfully flush something down. I see these throughout India, so not this hotel's specific fault (silly but annoying). * Slower check in Be prepared to talk to at least 3 people at the front desk and fill out a form / forms and to provide your passport for scanning (possibly multiple times). Probably the same at other India hotels. * Bed comfortable, but not soft and plush. * AC seemed to struggle / stop working at times - still kept the room decent, though at times slightly warmer than I would have liked. I actually booked this hotel as a replacement for the first hotel I booked. I would have saved a bit of money with that first one, but I found that it was in the wrong area - not central at all - also got really quiet at night - and with a few too many unbecoming characters sitting around on the streets. Nothing outright wrong with that place, but Hotel Chateau Windsor cost just a bit more and addressed all of those weaknesses - it's in a really great location which is safer and more central.

Value for money”
the chateau windsor is a family run hotel, some of the staff have been there all their working life.we could not find any fault with the staff, they were 100% helpfull.how about breakfast dilliverd to your room at 4am? our room was on the 4th floor, you could not fault it,it was v/clean,good quality fittings, top quality bath room with good hot water.the only thing we can complain about was the flat screen t/v was not working (some sort of technical problem) the hotel is close to the water, and plenty of eatery's close by.the boys at the front of the hotel were able to get us a taxi at the snap of a finger.our room was well worth the money, the staff treated us like we were one of the family.we will definatly stay with them again if we go back to india.

Nice on the inside, unattractive on the outside”
Overall we were happy with our stay at Chateau Windsor. On first impressions, the hotel exterior was not impressive, especially when going up in a small dodgy looking lift where you can see each floor as you go up (although, interesting). Reception area is not flash, but when they lead you to the Deluxe Room, the room is decent, modern and clean. Free breakfast in the mornings upstairs on the rooftop is nice during sunrise. Staff are friendly and attentive. Lesson learnt - Superior Room is only for 1 person, not couples! Did not know until our arrival and had to pay an extra 1000Rp per night. Deluxe is better.

Good location, pleasant staff”
the room (deluxe) did not look at big as the picture but was clean, attractive and pleasant. not a tiny room but not spacious either. the bathroom was modern. the cost of laundry was minimal from a western perspective. it was very close to the more expensive hotels and close to south mumbai tourist places. we found the staff helpful. we had not problems at all checking in or out -no unexpected costs. the room had no view, but we ent around the corner to the intercontinental and sat on the rooftop bar and the view was lovely.

Comfortable rooms at Nice location”
Chateau Windsor Hotel is Strategically located at Churchgate area, with all facilities like Medical stores, Restaurants, and Convenience stores are available at walking distances. The rooms are cosy and well furnished. Only negative I can say is missing restaurant which can offer Lunch/Dinner, though breakfast features are available from hotel kitchen. I can summarise - A Great Place of Stay at Competitive price. I would recommend this hotel.

Basic and Cheap”
Basically, this hotel is exactly what it says on the tin. It is BASIC. Mumbai is a very expensive city for accomodation and the Chateau Windsor is one of the cheapest 'stared' hotels available. It is in a decent enough location in the tourist area of Mumbai and only a short ride from the main attractions. The hotel is clean and good for the money. Dont go with high expectations and you will not be dissapointed. Take breakfast on the roof terrace for a good ocean and city view (50 rps). Staff are very helpful should you need them. Overall a good basic hotel, in India's most expensive city.

very good and central!”
this hotel looks like nothing special on the outside and the receptiondesk reminds you of being in an officebuilding, but the rooms are very good value with big beds, soft mattresses, nice 24 hour hotwatershower and very nice staff. They can help you with tours and taxi's. They have Internet (not free)and a rooftop terrace (where you can look right into the cricketstadium of the Mumbai Indians)

Great location and newly renovated room”
Upon check in, hotel staff let me choose between two rooms, one was the old room with a self-contained bathroom, the other was a newly renovated room with bathroom opposite to the bedroom. The old room had a rubbery odor and seriously outdated. I chose the new room, the bathroom is just one-step away from the bedroom, on the other side of the corridor, a little inconvenient but the bathroom was very clean. The room service was very slow, that was my only complain. I asked for two bottles of water, it took them 1 hour to bring them to my room. Overall, I think it is very good value, and if I come back to Mumbai and need to stay in the city, I will choose this hotel again.

Fantastic Value for money...”
Couldn't really fault it, for the money we paid this hotel was fantastic and we'd highly reccomend staying here as it's so close to everything you might want to do and experience. The staff were very friendly and overall, if I were to go back to Mumbai, this hotel would be my first choice.

Good location, place is ok but horrible breakfast”
We came to Chateau Windsor because we looked for a hotel in Colaba which was not too expensive. While of course Chateau Windsor was cheaper than the Taj or Trident close by you always have to remember that what you pay is what you get. The hotel is conveniently located and our room was very clean. The staff was not super nice but they were polite which was good enough as we didn't request much. What annoyed us was that the WiFi wasn't free but cost 150 Rs. for two hours which these days is not really up to standard anymore. The breakfast was horrible, only dry toast with one kind of jam and on order of eggs. No variety whatsoever and the water for breakfast was charged extra! We chose to skip breakfast at the hotel on our second morning and enjoy the breakfast buffet at Trident for 1100 Rs/per person which was great. If you choose this hotel I recommend not to spend money on the breakfast.

Great location. ”
chateau windsor is going through a renovation which we were told will be finished very soon. at times noise was a problem, they did ask if we wanted to change rooms but it wasn't worth the effort for 1 day. the room was clean with all modern cons. staff were extremely helpful but i recomend that taxi hire/airport transfer be arranged with taxis on the street. location is great, short taxi rides everywhere and walking distance to a lot of the sites with nightly strolls along marine parade.

great hotel in South Mumbai”
Fantastic place to stay in southern mumbai, which is the touristy area of mumbai. Right next to Marine drive which is the place to stay for foriegners, while initially not looking promising from the outside, once inside we were immensely impressed, given the fact that the hotel was inexpensive compared to our other places of stay in Mumbai. Very clean rooms, slept very soundly, much recommended stay

Overall positive”
Do not let the somewhat old and 'has-been' outer appearance of this quaint hotel (and the fact that you have to go up to the 5th floor to check in) put you off. From the second we arrived we were well looked after and their attention to service, meeting our needs, cleanliness and friendliness was refreshing. Fortunately we were upgraded to a Deluxe room, and these are really spectacularly comfortable and spacious for the price we paid. Our friends were not so lucky, and the difference between the normal old standard rooms and the new refurbished deluxe rooms is staggering considering the rather minimal price difference. There seem to be some rooms which have their bathrooms across the corridor, ours being one of them, and this turned out to be surprisingly inconvenient when there were two of us with only one room key which is needed to operate the lights. This is something I would urge them to look into remedying in the future. The 'roof bar', while rather a non-event affair with just a couple of old plastic tables spread about, does provide a very good view and some fresh air, but some investment in this area could make it something truly special. Overall one of our more pleasant hotel experiences in India, providing you get one of the new rooms.

Delivers more than is promised.”
i have been to mumbai many times, but this could be possibly my most memorable trip. initially i was sceptical for having chosen this place to stay, but the moment i reached there, all my fears and apprehensions were allayed. very courteous staff gave us a very warm welcome, though i had arrived much earlier than the scheduled time. the room too was good, with almost all modern facilities. great value for money. personally, i think its a great find, i would love to stay here whenever i am in mumbai.

Bombay Break”
We found the Chateau Windsor to be a pleasnt place to stay. We had a room up on the roof that had it's own private part of the terrace with chairs and table. We arrived at 4 am and had given the date of arrival as that day and explained we were actually coming on the night before ! We were worried that this would have been mis-understood, but we were expected and welcomed when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again so that must mean a lot.

Chateau Windsor”
We arrived late in the evening at the hotel and our 1st impression was not very good: large street without charm, front of the hotel which looks like anything but a chateau, reception at the 5th floor and small and rather gloomy (standard) room. However, staying there for 3 nights, we have been able to discover all the advantages of the hotel. The location between Marine drive and most sightseeing is much better than Colaba. The room and shower, even if small, were very clean and comfortable, and the nights were very quiet. Staff was very kind and helpful: advice on restaurants and transport, complimentaty breakfast at checkout although it was not at booking time, possibility to have a shower with towels 10 hours after checkout etc. We recommend this hotel.
