"Supermarket located just beside hostel"

Clean and a good value, but a bit of a walk from the sights”
Cheapsleep was really clean and comfortable for the price. Both kitchens were spacious enough to allow a few people to cook at the same time, and they were full kitchens including ranges, ovens and toasters, which is nice because not all hostel kitchens have this equipment. Room price included linens and large lockers, but towels are extra. The staff was really nice and friendly, especially Blue. She was polite and frindly, even in handling difficult hostellers like a group of scandianavians who yelled they weren't going to fill out any check-in forms and a Chinese guy who kept hitting on her all night. The vibe among the hostellers was also pretty good - people were talking and socializing during the night in the common areas. The only drawback is it is a bit of a hike into the main area of the city -- maybe 30min by foot to senate square or the market or the harbor. But the area felt very safe and there is even a grocery store in the same building so you can make food.

thanks for everything”
I had a horrible time when I first arrived to checked in. I made a reservation through agoda for a private room (double bed) but when I arrived, the staff informed me that I was booked as a dorm. I showed my confirmation but the system had me as a dorm and they were sold out in private room to offer me. I contacted agoda and on a hold for 30 mins, but I could get connected. I was extremely stressed after 9hours of flight. Then the staff and a manager offered me a dorm bed (since I have no place to go) and helped me to cancel the reservation for a refund. it really was nice of them. Now, I am upset for agoda which might have ruined my trip to Helsinki, but cheapstay hotel saved me life. Although I left soon without sleeping nor trying the breakfast, I will definitely revisit when im back in Helsinki by booking from other channel rather than agoda. thanks again for everything and God bless all of you.

Convenient, Clean, Great Atmosphere”
Pros: Convenient location (easy access to city, airport and ferry terminal), reasonable price, toilets were really clean, big common areas, and kitchen (for anyone who cooks), they also have activities to engage the travellers. Many signages and labels to help make your stay more convenient. Cons: Read negative reviews about how other travellers who booked through Agoda and only to find out that their bookings was not received by the hostel when they tried to check in. This happened to my booking too. So suggest that you all checked with the hostel directly to make sure they have received your bookings. Other than this admin issue, the hostel is a great place!

Best value in Helsinki”
This hostel is by far best value in Helsinki. I’ve stayed many times and will continue staying when necessary. Good amount of toilets/showers. Included breakfast is bread with something to put on top and porridge, which is adequate. Staff were always friendly when I talked to them. Common kitchen can be messy at times, but that’s because fellow guests don’t always clean up after themselves. Location is nice area, 35min walk from centre or easy tram/metro/bus ride. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended CheapSleep hostel:)”
This hostel is really high quality and suitable for travellers to stay in, especially for solo trip. Its price is reasonable and it only costs 10 euro per night. Its location is a little bit far away from city centre, but the transportation is convenient that I can take tram no. 7 to city centre. This hostel makes me feel safe as I have to use my keycards to access the room and my personal locker. Breakfast is provided with a sandwich, a hot drink and a banana from 7-9 am everyday. Even if you are not able to have the breakfast in this time slot, the staff would provide breakfast to bed. That's cool! :) There is just some rooms for improvement. The female washroom on 4th floor has some nasty smell.

The best (and only) hostel in Helsinki”
I was a little weary since this was the only hostel I could find in Helsinki but it did not disappoint! It wasn’t too far of a walk from restaurants and shops and a short tram ride to the centre. Nice relaxing atmosphere with great sleeping arrangements that reduced noise and light!

Cheap and Good ”
Everything is good except not located in town central. But the busstops to airport and central is only few mins walk from the Hostel. If you looking for cheap and decent stay, I would suggest CheapSleep Hostel.

Great hostel - clean and safe”
This hostel is clean & provided a good stay for me. Even though not as cozy as my other hostel experience, it does its job and provides free breakfast too! Staff was friendly. The place is big and spacious. They had some music on, so it wasn't awkward like a quiet office space. Location is a little off from city center, but a short tram or bus will get you there (I tried both and loved it because I could experience their transportation too!) . My room was a 4-bed room nice and clean with outlet and light for each bed. Lockers were in the room for you to keep your valuables. Kitchen has stove and utensils for you to use and clean after you use them. Sometimes it gets a little dirty after people just finished cooking, but most of the time they will clean after themselves fairly quickly. Grocery store is next door, so it was convenient. I just stopped by another grocery store about 2 stops before at the bus stop to grab mine. Felt more adventurous & like a local. haha

i was happy”
Hostel was excellent. Helsinki is not a bargain destination ,it is near as expensive as London and the food so far has been much better. This has been a pleasant surprise, I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of Finland.

it's okay, gets the job done”
The truth is, Helsinki is expensive, and CheapSleep is well....it's in the name, cheap place to sleep and shower. It reminds me of a factory. I stayed there 3 nights and here are my thoughts: Pros - generally pretty clean, good facilities with 2 kitchens, lots of dining and lounge areas to sit, each bed comes with a locker that locks with key card (some lockers are bigger than others), security is pretty good, free earplugs, free towel, 2 plugs and lamp per bed Cons - it's very crowded and it doesn't attract a high class clientele. The other travelers are not the most respectful so expect them to be loud and steal your food in the kitchen. Bunk beds are cheap so the whole thing will shake with the smallest movement. Also the bedside power plugs did not work on my last night, which was annoying and staff not helpful. Location is not great, at least 30min walk to the edge of city centre but there are parks and cafes on the way and a grocery store downstairs & restaurants very close

Cheapest hostel in the city and good link to public transport”
If you are looking for a cheap clean budget hostel this is your go to place in Helsinki. Automated lockers, clean amenities, hairdryer, multiple bathrooms and toilet and free breakfast.

Very good”
The hostel is new and clean. Modern design easily accessible by key card (including locker). I stayed at 18 people dorm for 2 nights on 4th floor. There's wall in between every bunk bed so you kind of have your own privacy. The bed is very comfy with individual locker, electric plug and lamp which are all very handy. Lots of bathroom and toilets so you never need to wait. Kitchen is well equipped and big fridge available. The free breakfast is actually better than I expected: real cheese, ham, lettuce, cucumber, bread, butter and jam, blueberry oatmeal porridge with coffee and tea. Lots of parties organized by hostel (Wed-Sun) on 2nd floor so ask for a quiet room if you are not into. Helpful staff speaks good English. It's not so close to town but it's still very good overall. Will come back next time :)

Very good”
I stayed in the room of 16 beds on the second floor. Very close to public transport and airport bus(615) stop. Full kitchen available. Decent free breakfast. As clean as possible for a hostel. Adequate shower space. Unfortunately alcoholic beverage is not allowed, one needs to purchase from the local bar (which is open in the evenings and nights, but not open everyday when I was there). The desktop computer on the second floor has only safari and firefox browsers, and I could not access to many sites ( so it is not working properly). They were out of public transport day pass, the do not sell Helsinki Card.

Extremely helpful staff and the cheapest in Helsin”
Great location, with stores and restaurants around and easy connections to the main attractions. The staff is really really helpful and will do all they can to help. In addition, to Helsinki prices it's the cheapest you can get. However, it could be cleaner. There is only one person to clean the whole area, including rooms, kitchen etc, which obviously is a lot to maintain, taking in consideration that nobody respects the kitchen's rules. Also, the shower room needs to be improved. Those curtains from 19th century are awful.

Worth the money for a female solo traveller”
I stayed in a 18-bed female dorm. Though there were 18 of us, it has a wall to divide us by two people (upper and lower bed). It has enough space to put your luggage outside because if you’re bringing a wheeled cabin baggage, it definitely won’t fit inside the locker. I brought a 50 litre bag so all my stuffs fit inside the locker. I was fortunate that everyone in the room were very respectful and none of us made loud noises in the room. The bathroom and toilet were very clean and they have water pipe as well in every toilet for those who use water. That was an extra point for me. The breakfast is simple but enough if you’re okay with bread and oat porridge. The staffs were very nice and attentive too. The only bad thing during my stay is that there was a group of girls staying there (for competition or something). It was fortunate that they weren’t in my room cause they were so loud. But the toilet became so dirty when they came. But that was not the hostel’s fault so I could totally understand. The next day though, it was cleaned so I applause the hostel for keeping the place clean. On a side note, I messaged them a lot before my travel and they answered all of my questions. So I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who’s travelling alone especially.

place to stay cheap in Helsinki”
Even paying for tram ticket, it was cheaper than staying city center. This is one of the cheapest hostel around Helsinki when I booked this.

New hostel, good value (for Helsinki)”
you can smell it's a new hostel. location is not so central (10-15 minutes tram ride to downtown), but if you combine the stay with a day transport ticket you're still saving money. we were in the corner of a 20 beds room, but it seemed a quite private corner. even if there are 20 people making noise in the central hall, you can't hear them from your room. too few showers but i think that people in hotels never take a shower so i could always find an available shower. supermarket just 20 metres away. tram/bus stops just 100 metres away. i probably won't come back to helsinki, but if i should, i'd come again to this place.

Good”
1. Walls between beds + I booked the cheapest bed, it was like 20+ beds in a female dorm. I was worried about the noise problem at first, but I found there were walls between each bunk bed. Mirror and lockers were placed every space too, very convenient. However, we had only one window at the end of room, for those who slept in another end of the room may find the ventilation bad. 2. Tasty Breakfast + Bread, margarine, jam, ham and cheese, it won't be surprised to be found them in the breakfast buffet. I was honestly impressed by the hot purple cooked cereal, its natural aroma was so good. There were few drinks too, including milk, tea and a pink drink. 3. Supermarket located just beside hostel 4. Fair hygiene in toilet and bathroom - Some tissue on floor and smell bad. But it wasn't as bad as couldn't be tolerated. Indeed they have extra toilets, bathrooms and kitchen on 2nd floor. If you don't mind descending two floors, I think the condition there would be better.

I recommend that place especially for budget travellers. Nice hostel atmosphere, hang out area, kitchen and good low price if compares to another options in Hki which might cost 2-5 times more. And next to hostel is Alepa market. It takes about 15min from railway station to hostel. U can choose fe tram number 1 or 7 or bus number: 65, 66 ,67 ,615 or 615 (and buy HSL ticket for x days ). Breakfast was filled bread, banana and a cup of hot drink (served 7-9am)
