I booked 11 hotels through agoda. for our 3 weeks vacation (Philippines, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur) and this lovely hotel stands out. The only regret- was we missed the cultural show; cause we checked in late. The hospitality; food and location is excellent. The hotel made efforts to put up my long name in front of the hotel to welcome us and the genuine hospitality of the Ifugaos serving welcome drinks and breakfast is awesome. I booked 3 rooms and 2 rooms were connected which is perfect. The prompt service and natural airconditioning really adds up. The mattress; water; gift shop; lobby and the surrounding area makes Banaue hotel an excellent place to stay while visiting the Banaue Rice Terraces.

We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. The rooms facing the street was a bit noisy then because of an alumni celebration and parade nearby, so we requested to be transferred in a room facing the mountains. It was resolved fast and easy. It was a basic room with a bed, vanity cabinet and private comfort room. No television, but the wifi was fast. The food in their resto was i think one the best in banaue town proper. We actually ate somewhere but we came back to uyami resto because their food is still the best among the rest. The staffs are very accommodating. Hillside Inn has the best view of Batad Rice terraces from our room.(make sure you request a room with the view). There were 5 of us. We're just excited to see a place we've only seen in pictures and movies since childhood. Et voila after 10 hours of bus ride (Ohayami bus services) from Sampaloc Manila to Banaue. Make sure you arrange all transportations with Hillside Inn because if you don't you will find yourself paying for more if you don't know any better. There is a jeep that goes to Batad from Banaue Local market ( price unknown as I wasn't given a change to haggle and a post a note on my foreheads "generouslady" 😀) if you're in a budget and know where to go at Batad I suggest you do that. But after a long bus ride you just want to Be where you want to Be. After the confusion our pick-up arrived a minute late I say and he admitted😀. We discussed our transport fee and it cost me (4,500 including a tour guide. this is including a return transport to Banaue. Does it sound expensive? I say yes but if you asked and arrange everything thru Hillside which I've admit I've forgotten maybe it will be cheaper. They did gave me a quote for a car pooling price which was more reasonable and again as I was busy thinking everything was ok for our trip I forgot could have saved me a little more for spending money😀.Live, travel and learn... From our journey to Banaue I'll say less than an hour depending on the road we arrived at Batad drop off point. A 20-30minutes trek (depends how long your legs are..mine was a bit challenge) to the town of Batad, every step was counted (I've stopped after 10) it was a good walked I've warned my nieces about the walk and I don't want any complains and they didn't as we were overtaken by an old lady carrying a sack of sand on her head walking as fast as she can with a mismatched slippers (thongs) so no complains at all. After 25 minutes walk we arrived and saw the green roof of hillside inn over looking the Batad rice terraces...yes it was

Staying overnight on feb 6-7, 2016 at banaue homestay was the excellent choice. Ms. Beatrize, the manager, was very warm, friendly and gracious- we could't ask for a better hostess. The staffs, rebecca and ruby were also very friendly. The rooms we rented (1 with cr and a regular room) was very clean and the beddings were so comfortable that we had a restful sleep after our very tedious but amazing batad trek. Plus the location is a good distance from the town proper so the place had a relaxed and private atmosphere. Added bonus is that banaue homestay has an amazing view of the rice terraces. The breakfast menu was very filling and delicious, especially the longganisa. i was both amazed by the place and charmed by our accomation. We will definitely return to banaue and stay at banaue homestay!:-) The only downside with our trip was that we were not able to view the rice terraces at banaue town because of the fog covering the mountains. Well, a reason to return again to this amazing place:-)

Batad is far from Banaue town and no cell phone signal available but it is great to stay at this mountain cottage with great view and great host Mr. Ramon and staffs. Batad View Inn and Restaurant is actually extension of Ramon's Homestay and Restaurant. You can avail same wonderful and warm Mountain Cottage experience. Good food is provided but little pricy because of food ingredients are brought to this mountain cottage. So it is reasonable actually. And what I liked here was that I had private room though you can hear other voices as wall is thin. However, It is great to have my private room anyway. Most important is Host Mr. Ramon and staffs are very friendly and give you good advices. I will never forget this place and keep in my memory for longest time. Thank you everyone!

It feels great to be able to experience staying in a native Ifugao hut. The place has very good views of the rice terraces, so you have a pituresque view for the whole duration of your stay, perfect for picture taking. No need to stop by other view decks in Banaue. The place is very cozy and relaxing. You can request for a bonfire at a minimal charge, which is really useful at night when the temp is chilling. The inside of the hut provides just enough warmth for you to have a good night sleep. Although if you are travelling with an elderly who has difficulty climbing stairs or walking inclined paths, going to the huts may be a challenge for them (I suggest you request to be put in the nearest/lowest location). The location was quite far from the town proper, but we didn't mind since we brought all our food with us. It is for those who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life.

We really enjoyed our stay in Batad and at Ramon's Homestay. Upon arrival in Banaue we were greeted by our guide Luciana, we did not know someone was going to pick us up so nice surprise. We met her and she took us for breakfast in Banaue. The Homestay was great, amazing views on Batad's rice terraces. The traditional hut was clean and lovely, candles as electricity at night in the hut But they are lights in the Homestay, bring a lamp torch! It was an unusual experience and would definitely recommend it but not for a long stay if like us you like the comfort of a bedroom. We stayed 1 night and it was perfect for us. Luciana is lovely she took good care of us, she arranged tours in the fields and mountain and saw the waterfalls, she definitely knows the area like her pocket. It was exciting and a real adventure, the veggie food was delicious, ate organic rice from the terraces. The first day it ran in the afternoon (we arrived at the end of the season) so we couldn't go on tour and were disappointed. Luciana could see that so she proposed us activities, showed us how to pound the rice the traditional way and I had a full body massage for 400PHP, the best I had in my life! Next day was the treks, be prepared if you do two treks in a row like us it is tough, I'm not a sporty person and was very proud of what I have accomplished. Only thing I would warn about is that they don't let you pay after every meal and charge everything at check out. BE CAREFUL: one thing we were not happy about is that we were a bit naive by not agreeing and asking for the price to have Luciana as a guide (without us asking for it) and all the extra they did for us. They never mentioned any price and made it feel like it was inclusive. At the end she took us back to the station in Banaue and asked us 4500PHP for the two tours and tricycles. She was not clear with the price and said she gave it to me before but I can't guarantee you that she did not and it was a bad surprise. I remember very wel

I really liked the whole batad experience and this place has the best view, very tasty food and good service. Consider that batad is a very small village in the middle of the forest, so expect a few small moths in the common area, but they're beautiful and funny to watch. The woman running the place is very nice and she will help you with anything. Remember to not book in advance any transportation back to banaue, wait until you arrive to the hostel and they will give you a better price.

Rice Homestay was our home for 4 days & 3 nights whilst we explored the Banaue area with our two young children aged 4yrs & 6yrs. We booked a family room which was very spacious (2x single beds & 1x double bed) & had a small balcony with lovely views of the river below, a small rice terrace & looked over to Banaue village. Food was not bad & choices were good. There is also a kitchen at Bogah homestay which adjoins Rice homestay which we ate from a couple of times as well - Hint: Beers are slightly cheaper at Rice Homestay. Banaue village is a short 10-15min walk from the homestay, down the road & across a hanging bridge over the river & then up a steep flight of stairs up the hill into the village. We did the walk quite a few times with a 4yr old & 6yr old in tow, it wasnt a hard walk. Homestay offers free transport to & from the bus stop too which was very handy with luggage. The families who own both bogah & rice homestay are extremely friendly people & we felt very welcome. There were also other local kids there from time to time, whom our girls loved getting to know & playing with. We organised a 1 day tour through the accomodation to visit Batad. The guide we had was absolutely fantastic. A local lady named Fena. She was really fabulous with the kids and was always ready with a helping hand as we descended & ascended the mountain to & from the village, and balanced along narrow terrace walls, offering lots of encouragement to the kids as we went along - it was a big feat for a 4yr & 6yr old! She was also very knowledgeable of the local areas. We really enjoyed our day with her!

I took the overnight Florida 10.45pm bus to Banaue. I reached Banaue around 7.30am. Joel was there to pick me. It is a free picking and dropping. The main reason why I selected them, One less trouble of getting fooled by Taxi. But when I reached there, It was a place where you cannot find lot of luxurious stuff. Climate is fine. Bit cold. Unpredictable rains, landslides as well. One thing to note about bus journey is, as per the reviews I've read before going, Bring your warm clothes as bus drivers used to put the maximum A/C on. But for my case, I didn't notice it much. Maybe I was sleeping or Maybe bus drivers have learnt their lessons after many complaints. As I figured there're 3 key personnel in this place. Denvil, Joel and Ronny. All are very friendly, very helpful and you can trust your life getting isolated with them. First day I did the Banaue view point trail with Denvil. He took me safely. I was travelling solo but he took the every measure to keep me safe. Next day I did the batad trail with Ronny, which is absolutely fantastic. Joel took us to the starting point by his van. It was supposed to be a habal-habal ride. But previous evening I showed Joel 2 nasty cuts in my legs during a random chat. So Batad trail morning he told he'd take us there from van. They are such nice people. If you want to see original rice terraces, You should visit Batad. It is one of the 5 UNESCO world heritage sites there, Banaue rice terraces are not a UNESCO world heritage site due to some modifications made later. For a solo traveler I thought Banaue is bit expensive, But for a group it may not as costs are divided. Let's say you want to do the Batad trail, Guide fee is 1300 pesos and Habal habal fee is 1000 pesos. Habal habal will wait till you come from trekking. It's like a 4-5 hour trek. The manager welcomed our group with their native local rice cake :-) She also granted my request for another set of blankets because we are not used to cold temperature. They also offered our group native boiled huge size of "Kamote" Sweet potato and native coffee before leaving their pension house. Do not EXPECT 5* Class accommodations in Batad because it's location cannot even be reached by Vehicles, and If you want to order sea foods sorry to disappoint you that you are in the wrong place (hello?! you're in the middle of mountains!!!) also If you hear noises from roosters early in the morning don't be surprise!. It's not AMERICA or EUROPE so don't expect you'll be welcomed by luxury and do a research first before going there to avoid disappointments. Do understand that the location and daily living of people there is somewhat a bit primitive. One more thing, there's no Cell Site in the area so you can't use your mobile phones and NO WIFI too. No Private Bathroom too so meaning you will use a common CR.

The guest house arranged for us to be fetched at the bus station. Koreen is conveniently located in the center of town where there are many decent places to eat at ranging from local, Chinese, to Western food. It's also right beside the Police Station, and is across the trike terminal where you could rent a trike for the whole day. The market, bakery, and grocery stores are all also within walking distance. The room we had was for 4 and it had a full window with a partial view of Banaue Rice Terraces. We love that it had a fancy dining table where we dined on food we bought from the nearby diners. So we ate with a view all the time. The beds were comfortable, and rooms were well ventilated. Twas quite cold in June when we there. We barely used the electric fan. Would definitely recommend and stay here again next time we go back.

We really enjoy our stay at halfway lodge , Charlie is the best guide in town ask for him , he know a lot about the cultural and the history of the town and around , we went to hapao and batad rice terrasse with him and we enjoy it !! The room was clean , the staff was really kind and helpful !! The food was good and you can dinner with a nice view of banaue rice terrasse. The only thing that was less good is that there is no electric plugs in the room to charge your phone or camera battery but it's not a big deal because at the office they will charge it for you with pleasure.

Though you will need to walk around 30mins to reach the inn, the location is really exceptional as it sits in the heart of Batad. What we liked the most is how accommodating the owners are and the view of Rice Terraces. Kuya Romy and Ate Ruby are very kind and they even gave us tips on how to commute around Banaue and Sagada. The rate for the room and tour is very affordable. We spent 1000 pesos for Tappiya Water Falls and Awa View Deck which is good for 4 persons - a lot of trekking is required to reach those places. They also have a 2-year-old dog named Digong who joined us during the tour! :) NOTE: No signal. No internet. Water and Food is kind of expensive, though the food taste really good. I suggest you contact the owner regarding the booking. All in all, it was a very nice place to stay in Batad!

The food is good and they are very kind enough to have your food cooked. The only I don't like are the barking dogs at night so I did not sleep well. The room also small for a family. And I don't know if the breaker for our room was intentionally off at 9 pm together with other rooms booked by my friends. So if your outlets were not working ask immediately the front desk about it.
