A nice recently renovated 4-storey suburban guesthouse with a warm and comfy wooden interior design. The cozy and comfortable family rooms are simple tatami with balcony, with amenities such as futons, air-con/ heater, TV, a small table and chairs, refrigerator, kettle, safe box, wash basin and a restroom. Do buy and bring your own towels. We stayed for a week to enjoy a free and easy relaxation vacation at the various onsen and hot springs in Beppu. We booked a family room so we had a whole bedroom to ourselves. Even though the kitchen and the shower room to bathe is shared with guests, by which we must understand that it is their traditional culture and way of living and socialise. The staff are courteous, friendly, helpful and have basic English proficiency.

The location is very close to the main beppu station but to get there is best to take a parallel street if you have big luggage and want to get there by foot which is totally possible. The staff is very professional and nice. While they clean from 10 ish to 3pm guest are advised to leave the guesthouse but you can use the onsen all night long! it's a small onsen but it's relaxing. While I was staying there many other guests, most of them japanese. The space inside a room was a little bit crowded but I could place my suitcase outside the room and the locker was big enough to hold my backpack. After my stay, nothing got stolen :) It was very safe, friendly and I would totally go back

I stayed at Beppu Guest House for only one night. I arrived late in the evening. Be sure to arrive before 22:00 as the doors are locked and staff is away. When I arrived, the staff member was very helpful. She explained everything I needed to know about the facility and helped me to pick an onsen for that late of the evening (arrived at 20:00). The rooms are as they are pictured; simple and sufficient space for luggage. The bathrooms on the 2nd floor are a bit awkwardly placed but they were clean! Everything about this place reads simple, but I highly recommend it for the value as compared to the prices I saw around Beppu. Also, it’s only a 4 minute walk to and from Beppu Station which is the real prize of this guest house.

The hotel is very nice. good location not far from beppu station less than 10 minute walk. the room is clean. the bath room is onsen type, so you can use for free onsen. The hotel provide towel, soap, shampoo and even t shirt and trouser for sleep. Beppu is an intereting city. There are many onsen and hot spring. The road to Yufuin is also very beautiful, you can go there by bus at 960 yen. From there you can also go to Aso through the beatiful highway.

super easy to find location, cheap price, and average facility (what you pay is what you get). the room is not so clean, and I can smell cigarette scent (no problem for me, but maybe for someone else: yes). the toilet in my room is so old it can't make the tissue paper disappeared. electricity socket is bathroom didn't work. women's communal bath is quite small (but no problem because there's no other women in that hotel when I stayed there. I never encounter another women guest lol). but you can't use the women bath in morning. you have to go to other hotel facility owned by the same management across the road (which is quite inconvenience). there's television in room, but we have to pay 500 yen per 1 hour to watch (coin television). looks like this hotel is targeting male guest more than female. if you're male, you got a big communal bath and interesting channel in the coin television (Red Cherry or something). I think there's many other hotel with better facility around there.

I was at Beppu for two nights. First night we stayed in an onsen resort, second night we thought to stay at somewhere more down to earth near to locals, so we got a room in this guesthouse with futon. When we reached the guesthouse, there were no staffs around, only a few other guests at the outdoor common area. There was no notice board or anything to inform us regarding on the absent of the staff. We thought the staff had went home, without passing us our keys prior to that. We were panic for around 30min as we didn't see anyone coming back and thought we might have lost our bookings, as I also noted on the email they sent that they might not have saved a room for us if the guesthouse is full though we've booked it in advance. Anyway long story short, the staff actually went out without having a sign notify their guests... After checked in, our room was a dusty double room with a no proper cupboard (it was made by random wood and boards), there was only one shower room for the whole guesthouse (they expect us to go to local onsen bath in which we did).

Near to Beppu station, 5 minutes walk. Provides free tea bag, coffee machine with few selection of coffees and other kitchen facilities. Even though I booked only a doubke decker bed, I was enjoying the whole room since nobody is sharing the other bed. They allowed you to put yr luggage in the locker for free though you have checked out. Good one. No towel is provided. You need to rent or get yr own towels, toothpaste and toothbrush. For me it's ok without toothpaste and toothbrush as I'm ready but for towel most of other hostel will provide.

The hotel located with just 2 mins walking after you arrived Beppu Station. It is super value hotel if comparing to the nearby one. The staff don’t speak English but are very friendly and used translator to tell you the information you need. You can goes to their sister hotel and enjoy the Onsen available for free and buffet breakfast also are good with 700 yen. Highly recommended to stay at Beppu Star if you plan to visit many must visit places at Beppu.

We had best stay in this ryokan from our whole Japan trip. The location is so convenient, close to JR station, beach, bus stops, shops, restaurant and everything else. The onsen is good and there is free unlimited coffee and teas (green, black and chinese) in level 2 and 3. There is big lounge with shelf full of mangas for guest to relax and enjoy quiet time after all day sightseeing. All the staff are very friendly. They always go beyond their duties to help. Upon check out, I accidently left my purse in the room. One of the staff drove a car around tried to find us to return the purse. Definitely will recommend this ryokan to everyone visiting Beppu.

The hotel is very near to the beppu station. The Beppu station has supermarkets , shops and restaurants in it. It is also the final stop for the local bus and a stop for the train. It has an i centre as well . From here u can buy tickets to the hell and yufuin . The hotel room is clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful and polite . Only problem is check in time is very late, 4pm.

Apparently I was the only one in the hotel. It was very scary as I was alone and female. The place was very poorly maintained, dirty, smell of cooked food, spiders and insects. It's actually not a hotel; it's an Inn. Because of the above condition, I didn't sleep the whole night and had the lights on the whole night with music for the whole night as well. This is also one way to keep myself awake. Worst of all, the price that I paid for was even more expensive than beepu sea wave hotel that I booked the next day!

I chose this hostel because it is close to the Hell Onsen pilgrimage site. But finding the accommodation was not easy. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Seaweed soup, egg roll, salad, fish and Nato were prepared for breakfast. It was a very delicious and healthy breakfast for myself who does not like sushi. There was window in the room of the second floor, but it was almost closed when opened, and it was frustrating. On the first floor, the hot spring is small, but one or two people seemed to have no problems enjoying the hot spring. The water quality was nice.

Slightly far from Beppu station but its located just beside a small department store as well as with convenience stores and some local restaurants at a working distance. I was satisfied with the room except the smoking room that was unprepared upon my check-in. (But they changed my room) The employees are extremely kind and polite just like most of the Japanese hotels.

The hotel location is superb as it is just a 5 mins walk from Beppu station. As you may take all kinds of transport from Beppu station, Daiiti hotel can be a good base for you. The hotel is extremely clean and new. Room is small but just nice for a couple. All the basic amenities are complete and they even provide us with towel, shampoo and shower gel to go to Onsen ! The staffs are really really friendly and helpful. They speak basic English and give us a lot of suggestions on where to go and where to eat. On the first night as we arrived late, staff even helped us to heat up our food ! Besides that, they also serves hot coffee and ice water in the lobby for all the guests. Overall, this hotel is really good ! Will definitely choose this hotel if I ever come to Beppu again!

The hotel is located near Beppu tower, right at the heart of Beppu downtown and thus it was very convenient for us to go anywhere in Beppu. The room we booked was quite small, the bath tub looked stained but I guess it has something to do with the hot water coming directly from the hotsprings. We loved the yukata provided. If you enjoy simple traditional Japanese settings, this hotel is quite a good fit and value for money. It may be hard to spot the elevator on the ground floor, though. Staff didnt speak English but were helpful and kind enough to let us leave our lugguage there even after checkout while we were waiting for our evening flight out of Oita.

Onsenkaku is locate near the hells in Beppu. Rather far away from the train station and Beppu downtown, however in a nice district of the city. The family owned hotel is located not far from the bus-stop along a small pedestrian alley near the foreign tourist information. The tatami rooms are classic and come with private toilet. Special is the house owned outdoor onsen, with the little Japanese garden. In addition the family owns their own temple. All service is very warm and helpful. Breakfast is very big and elaborated, typical Japanese. The lady of the house waved good bye when leaving :)

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are big and clean. The window can be widely open for fresh air. Magnificent view for sun rise on the roof top hot water tub. The hotel prepared a baby crib for our little baby which was very considerate. Breakfast was with slight variety each day. The hotel is near to 2 big department stores which is very convenient for us to prepare meals for our baby. Will consider coming back to this hotel if we will visit Beppu again. Since this hotel is family and children friendly, if it will provide laundromats, then it will be perfect.

for those taking buses to beppu this is the best location. Bus from yufuin stop right in front of the hotel. Bus stop to fukuoka is just across the road outside Starbucks but have to take the stairs underpass across. Beppu station is just 7-8 mins walk away. Visit the tourist information centre for discount to entrance fee. Buffet breakfast at JPY500 is cheap but I didn't managed to try it.

In my room, the TV didn't work well but I just didn't ask the staff to fix it because I didn't need it. What I loved the most from this hotel was nice ocean view from the room and spa area. I would definitely recommend this place to people who'll visit Beppu. Also, it's pretty close from Beppu station(10mins by foot) and located right next to Beppu Tower so it's very easy to find. Shopping malls - Tokio and Youme town - are also close to the hotel. And both dinner and breakfast were hearty. The staff was kind and guided me to my room and explained about the facilities. Staying here was one of the happiest moments in my life. I could perfectly refresh myself.

We arrived late at night and could not locate the hotel route. As we happened to be outside a police station, the police on duty immediately came to our rescue and pointed us to the right way, about 10 - 12mins walk with our luggage. A nice and safe start to our Beppu vacation. We are grateful for the patience and understanding of Kamenoi Hotel's staff on duty on 11 Nov night. We had overlooked our check out date in Beppu but Kamenoi hotel's staff helped to call our Kyoto hotel to keep our rooms . Knowing that we had to pay for rooms in both Beppu and Kyoto for the same nite, Kamenoi Hotel kindly offered the same room rate as we had paid via Agoda nearly a year ago. Cheers to the hotel staff for his helpfulness. Our 6 bedded room was enormous though rather dim at the writing cum makeup table. The onsen was so good that we took our baths there for 4 nites instead of using the bath in our hotel room. Great hotel to stay in for relaxation.
