For a 3.5-4 star hotel, the price you are paying for is considered value for money. Counter staff spoke enough english to facilitate with check-in. Its a 8-10 mins walk from JR Numazu station, but there's a bus stop directly outside the hotel if you know which bus to take. Will stay again if I come back to Numazu. For LLSS fans, hotel is decorated with lots of yohane goods once you enter. The river, shrine and yohane's apartment are just beside the hotel. Bus to Uchiura is directly outside the hotel.

We were surprised and amazed by the size of the room and comfort of the beds, I think my kids had their best night sleep in this hotel throughout my 8 days of stay in Japan. 2 queen beds + a baby cot, and sofa, and still lotsa space!! Bathroom was great too!! I think SPACE is really what kids like, they sleep better and longer hours. We adults are better rested too. Breakfast was Japanese style, suits adults more, my kids didnt' have much to eat. .. but still, I'm overwhelmed by the service and what the hotel offers. Customer service was great too, they provided kids packs for my kids and they loved it... with kids room slippers and some toys, hankies and sponge for shower. Very nice gesture. This is truly an underated hotel, so glad I booked a night stay here. Thank you staff of Mars Garden Wood Gotemba! I highly recommend anyone going to see Mt Fuji, u get a very good and clear view of Mt Fuji in Gotemba everywhere u walk/drive during Spring!!

The hotel is located near to Gotemba station, approximately around 10 minutes walk. It is very convenient to reach the hotel. The room is well equipped with essentials. Toilet and bathroom, with bathtub, bathtub with warm water is all we need after a long walk and exhausted feet. My room is a twin bed room, but in my opinion, one bed is a slight wider than the another bed and maybe it can be for three middle sized adults. Morning breakfast is quite good. As far as I can remember, they provide rice, curry sauce, potato salad (I like it), some Japanese style vegetables that is served cold, vegetables salad with various sauce like mayonaise and sesame sauce, pork sausage, omelette, natto (fermented soybean), salmon or mackerel in several sauce, apple and orange juice, coffee and others I cannot remember. With this price, breakfast is a great addition to such a hotel so we can full our stomach with foods before our adventures of the day begin. Around the hotel, there were many small restaurants and convenience shop so it is very helpful to us. The weather during our stay which is in late September 2017 were really nice, a bit windy at days, and quite cold at night. The view from our room is beautiful, mountain view. If you are lucky, you can have a clear sky and full of mountain view, but I was not quite sure that it is Fujisan or another mountain around the area, but however, it is really still beautiful. From this hotel, we walk to Gotemba station and wait in bus stop for Kawaguchiko area. It took 1.5 hour to reach Kawaguchiko station to further ride several sightseeing bus from Kawaguchiko station to travel around mt.Fuji. The best Fujisan spot is from Kachi-kachi ropeway in Kawaguchiko lake, in Red line bus. At least that was my experience since I have limited time to go around Fuji. To sum up, this hotel is really nice and good. It location is in the middle between Hakone and Fuji. The best offer is you order Fuji-Hakone pass before your visit day to these

Absolutely recommended, wonderful location, great facilities, courteous and welcoming staff. It's a great destination for a special occasion. It's the most elegant and relaxing place I've ever stayed at. High points were the views from the balcony, spectacular onsen (which was not crowded as the hotel does not have many rooms) and a very unique second floor with an art gallery. The room was very big with a huge bathtub overlooking the bay and very comfy beds with top quality sheets. Lots of tiny details to make your stay better. Thank you, I want to stay there again!

Price is really affordable and hotel is clean and excellent location right near the JR Numazu station. Perfect location for exploring Numazu and if you are a Love Live-er then even better as a lot of the locations are around the area of the hotel. The free breakfast is excellent and the food is unbelievably good for no cost to you whatsoever and menu changes every morning so you never get tired of the same thing. Full amenities are provided and convenience store Family Mart is literally right outside the hotel.

Room: very clean and much bigger than any other hotel room in Japan. Huge bathroom! Location: there’s only one bus stop outside the hotel and the next bus terminal is about 1km walk away. So it’s quite troublesome if you traveling with children or big luggages. Staff: Super friendly and accommodating. On the second day, the staff on duty sent us to the bus terminal and ran to the bus just before the bus leave just so that we can catch the bus. On the day we checked out, one of the staff sent us to Gotemba station because he realized that we had 2 huge luggages and it was raining. It’s really an insane level of customer service. 👍🏼👍🏼 Food: breakfast was simple yet delicious. Food from restaurant was also yummy! Overall: a great place to stay that worth your every cents. Not sure why is not considered 3 or 4 star hotel.

For those traveling to Gotemba from Tokyo via the regular trains, this hotel is highly recommended because it sits across the train station. The station for buses going to and from Tokyo station is also very near. The room that we got is a bit small and looks old, but it had a very good view of Mt. Fuji. The bathroom had a tub and the hot water was working well. Water pressure was also good. Breakfast (buffet) was okay. Choices were limited, but the food tasted well. If I were to return to Gotemba, I'll still book this Hotel.

Study some street view first. It's on the way to the station from about 45mins bus trip from Hakonemachi. Staffs are very helpful. We didnt take bfast, but they are provided. Nearby are 7-11, nice houses & nice people, 100 yen shop, etc. As usual in Japan, chk-in & chk-out are just in a matter of seconds. The next morning we left early. There are the Tozan buses (platform#2) going straight to Gotemba stn, as well as direct ones to the premium outlets - beautiful places along the way.

Very good hotel. Nice view of Mount Fuji from the 5th floor roof garden. The interior of the hotel is very modern. There's a restaurant in the building. Can go to Gotemba by train which will take about 30minutes. The mall near the hotel have cinema which show non translated English movie. Overall, very nice hotel to stay if you don't mind taking the train to Gotemba( for those who doesn't know- there's a Premium Outlet shops in Gotemba)and you can take a bus to go to Mount Fuji area from the station.

I was so careless that i wrongly booked a smoking room . I quickly go to counter to change room but it was full house on the weekend . The staff passed me a spray also in the room it has a Sharp Ion air purifier machine and we opened the window to pass thru the night . One of the staff which is not good in English , he used a translator gadget to help to understand what i am saying which is a plus point . Mount Fuji with clear view appeared just right in front of our room window the next morning. Nearby along the way has many restaurants .

The best thing about our "mini double room" was the view. Early in the morning at 6am we were awake by the shadow of Mt Fuji. by 8am, the sky was all clear and we can see the beautiful Mt Fuji right in front of us from our bedroom window. You can also see Mt Fuji while taking breakfast.The location is good as it is about 10 mins walk from JR train station and also free shuttle bus from the station to Gotemba outlet. The mini hot spring room was an added joy for us. We really enjoyed our 2 days stay here as we had made the right hotel choice.

I live in Japan not far from the hotel so am familiar with Japanese hospitality and cleanliness. My friends - visiting from Germany, the UK and Canada - were blown away by the place... they loved it. The lobby lounge is very comfortable and tastefully decorated in a modern style, and has a panoramic ocean view. You can relax here with a freshly brewed coffee (free of charge) or with a glass of wine from the self-service wine dispenser. The rooms are tremendous - large, roomy Japanese style tatami rooms with futon mattresses, a small seating area near the window to take in the ocean view. The main restaurant - curiously - is at the bottom of the hotel in a large windowless space, albeit nicely furnished, a kind of nightclub feel. The food - around 10 small courses of various Japanese delicacies - was very good. The hot spring baths are tremendous - an large indoor bath, a smaller outdoor bath, both with the same great ocean views. A short path from the hotel leads to the local waterfront, with spectacular views of Mount Fuji - probably the best view of Fuji from anywhere. Thoroughly recommended!

The Toyoko-Inn was 4/5 hotels we used on our 15 day vacation in Japan. It came 4th, mainly on location. The Toyoko wins on a lot of levels - a with most hotels in Japan, everything worked. The room was of adequate size, as was the bed. A very basic breakfast is provided. Outfitting is probably closer to 3 star than anything else but it really is a budget business and groups hotel. The problem for tourists are firstly Mishima itself, which isn't a particularly great town to be a tourist in - the hotel does its best to minimise the one asset they have, which is views of Fuji, strategically placed as it is, behind an industrial site. THe town is cut in half by the Shinkansen line, which you cannot pass through without some kind of ticket, meaning a walk to the nearest road tunnel a couple of hundred metres away. The problem isn't the hotel, really, is that Mishima is a place you don't want to be unless you have to - think Milton Keynes less outgoing brother, and you will get the idea.

Fuji Green Hotel was fantastic value for money. As a solo traveller who tends to stay in hostels I had booked a couple nights here purely because of the lack of availability of hostels closer to Mt. Fuji and it was the cheapest option. For a private room it's a really good price. If you're looking for somewhere to stay for climbing Mt. Fuji it is a little far from the 5th station, involving an 18 minute train to Fujinomiya then a 1hr30min bus, making it a bit ambitious to ascend and descend within the first and last bus but do-able. The hotel itself had friendly and hospitable staff, a lovely roof top restaurant and beer garden (open in summers) which looked out onto Mt. Fuji, and there was a communal bath which you could use in private and there were no rules concerning tattoos. It's also located just opposite Fuji Station.

Good lodge, it was the beginning of the climbing season, with very few people at the time. A lot of empty beds, wo we had a lot of space to sleep. In case of crowded nights, I imagine it can be a lot less enjoyable (with 4 people in our space for 2)... Anyway, we slept only 3 or 4 hours before going to the summit to see the sunrise. Pretty good beds with futons and blankets, very nice temperature. Nice staff, minimal toilet (no shower obviously). Awesome sunrise, but we had to struggle with the bad weather (a lot of rain and wind). We were so cold arriving around the 9th station. Carry enough warm and waterproof clothes (we had though but it was tough anyway!). Our gloves (not waterproof) were soaked very quickly. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

The staff at this hotel were really friendly and went out of their way to help us. The room was small but clean - and had a huge TV with loads of free movies. Nice to have access to the public bathroom and hot bath :) - as well as the bathroom in your room. Breakfast was good - Japanese style with lots of options (maybe some fresh fruit would make it even better!). Location wise - it is where it is. It's not really near mount Fuji if that's what you're after - but there are good views of Fuji from the town. The town is very quiet - we struggled to find somewhere open for lunch, but there were lots of places open for dinner. The people in the town were the friendliest we've met in Japan :)

- the staffs were very nice and can speak english. they were very kind to me that I booked on the wrong date but they change the dte without charge. - you can see Fuji mountain from the back of the hotel. - you have to rent some amentities like towel... - there are free drink and fridge for you to keep the foods. - there is a massage machine that is the best of all. - highly recommend to stay here

If you are looking for a very simple and affordable hotel in Mishima, Hotel Massimo is the the hotel you're looking for. The price is super affordable and the hotel is located very close to the train station. The hotel facilities are clean and all the staffs are polite and very helpful and accommodating. The free food they serve for breakfast is simple but good enough to fill you out. I stayed on this hotel because of its proximity to the Gotemba Shopping Outlet. A lot of restaurants nearby when you feel hungry. Very nice experience in this hotel, for sure I will keep coming back.
