Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo
Kawaramachi,Kyoto - View on map
"i had a very comfortable stay at the mitsui garden hotel in kyoto. the rooms are more modern and spacious than your average japanese hotel and i love the cute yukatas provided. staff was helpful with sightseeing tips and the location is very convenient - you can take many different buses to all of the main attractions from the bus stop down the block. there's a convenience store around the corner and while there are not too many restaurants nearby, the few that are around are very good. finally, my favorite thing about the hotel is the onsen-type bath on the first floor that is great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing."

THE THOUSAND KYOTO

"Very well located, Yes Hotel it is a little gem about a 5-10 minute walk from Kyoto station depending what side of the station you arrive at. The rooms are spacious by Japan standards, clean, offer really good in room espresso, coffee, tea, bottled water daily and has A/C . I know this sounds weird... I LOVED the bathroom. Technology at its finest. The hotel is modern and the service friendly. They were all very, very attentive. They have a wonderful concierge staff to help with dining reservations, local knowledge of the train system, sightseeing ...etc. The breakfast buffet has a good variety and if you don't want the buffet, you can order Ala Carte. This hotel delivers big on all fronts. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Kyoto!"

Hotel Resol Trinity Kyoto

"This was my first trip to Kyoto and the hotel was definitely the highlight. The lobby (and entire building) smelled amazing! The staff spoke excellent english and the check in/out was smooth. They also offer luggage storage after check out and called us a cab to the station. The hotel also has a private hot spring bath thats a must to try in Japan! All in all I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto! Hint: the location is amazing!!!! 500m from a high rated tea ceremony experience company (read: Maikoya), 100m from a mini market, and is super close to 3 different subway stations!"

Cross Hotel Kyoto

"Just a quick review to say that my wife and I have just spent 3 weeks in Japan and stayed in many Ryokans and western style hotels (including the Keio Plaza Premier Grand in Tokyo which was pretty amazing too!) but the Cross Hotel in Kyoto was the best value by far. I can't speak highly enough of their courteous and attentive service, their delicious restaurant meals (we experienced both dinner and breakfast and both were great!), the cleanliness and quality of finish of all rooms/spaces and the location...wow, what a great location, close to key tourist attractions, fantastic restaurants, shopping, bus and subway stops. It's really got it all. Enjoy :)"

Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo
Kyoto,Kyoto - View on map
"Had a good stay in this hotel. Location wise it's perfect as it's across Kyoto station and food, shopping centers are aplenty within a short walk. All other locations were conveniently accessible from Kyoto station. I booked a twin room and it was spacious and big enough to lay ur luggage on the floor. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and basic amenities like kettle and toiletries were provided. Service at the hotel was good and staff were attentive to our needs. Best part was that the hotel is reasonably priced and I will definitely stay here again if I return to Kyoto. Some recommendation, You might want to check out Hirakata Park (30mins train from Kyoto Station) which is a local theme park suitable for toddlers and young kids and its not crowded at all like Universal Studios.
