"The staff is amazing and incredibly helpful. It's a Japanese speaking establishment but they did have instructions in English. Haruka knew some English and was very patient with me and modest; she was delightful and amazing. Haruka helped make my stay even more comfortable along with the entire staff. They were incredibly patient, smiling, and helpful even though we didn't speak the same language. I booked the dinner and breakfast package; the dinner is huge and delicious! A lot of foods I never had prepared that way. The outdoor baths are beautiful, and the morning onsen outdoors was perfect. Walking the corridors in my yukata while soft Japanese music played was a relaxing experience. They provide a shuttle bus for pick up and drop of to Kurayoshi station and even helped with directions on taking a bus to nearby attractions. Highly recommend this Ryokan."

"We only spent one night, but wished we could stay longer. Very few of the staff could speak some English, but that didn't stop them for assisting us. The dinner and breakfast was delicious. I highly enjoyed their tea. Even though the dining staff didn't speak English and we spoke very simple Japanese phrases, it still felt appreciated that they did their best to accommodate us. We were upgraded to a much larger room since they thought we had a leak, though I felt like there was nothing wrong. The onsen was nice and relaxing. We didn't know how to setup the bedding, and a nice uncle from the staff helped make our futons when they upgraded our room. From the greeting at the door to the goodbye when we left, it felt like a wonderful far away escape. If anyone has a fear of spiders, be wary when going out at night. They're everywhere in Japan, but more so here since it's a small town surrounded by nature. I didn't really mind since they help by eating other bugs."

"I was in this hotel for one day originally. Due to itinerary changed, I booked another consecutive night after I arrived Japan. When I arrived the hotel, they were detail-minded that they asked me if I made something wrong as I booked 2 nights. I booked a non smoking room. They said there is a smoking room available ( which is of higher storey with better view) to see if I wanna change. They brought me see the room to decide. I am satisfied with their fine service. Their check in explanations were very clear. Finally about the shuttle service, since Misasa is a rather rural place about several kilometres away from Kurayoshi JR Station, the hotel provides shuttle service between the hotel and JR Station. Their service was very good. It requires only 30minutes for them to arrange shuttle service. I arrived Kurayoshi Station and called them to drive me to hotel and they are perfectly ok for my request."
