"If you are looking for a budget on a very reasonable room rate hotel in Nagoya,Japan, the best place to recommend is Meitetsu Inn Nagoya. A typical Japanese room, very clean and bed sheet and towels are all brand new. Very accessible to train station for about 7 minutes and a 10 minutes walk to Central Nagoya station where you will find central bus and train stations and big malls. "

LEGOLAND Japan Hotel
Nagoya,Nagoya - View on map
"We went to Legoland solely because our 6 year old son loves lego, so it was our first stop for the Nagoya trip. We went to the hotel straight from the airport by bus and it was very convenient. We got dropped off right in front of the hotel. We took the train to get into town though the next day and it was a fair walk to the station from the hotel. If you travel light without big luggage then it should be fine. Check in was straight forward. We got our key card within minutes. It's more of a help yourself type of hotel though, unlike Disney hotels where there would be hotel staff escorting you to your rooms, carrying your luggage for you, etc. The elevators were brilliant. You feel like dancing every time you step into one. We had a great laugh recording our boy dancing to the disco music. Breakfast was included and the variety of food was good. We went during the busiest time of the year and the restaurant was crowded in the morning, but they never ran out of food. Overall 8/10"

Chisun Inn Nagoya
Nagoya Station,Nagoya - View on map
"I stayed in both the Comfort Hotel in Nagoya and the Chisun Inn so that I can compare the two. The Comfort Hotel rooms are larger and the price includes breakfast. However, the breakfast at Chisun Inn if you pay the price is Wow! No comparison. Chisun Inn is closer to the station but it is on the backside, so that you can roll your luggage from the Comfort Hotel to the station front door for about the same distance. Both inns apparently have connection for your computer. For me, who does not lug a computer, the Comfort Inn has a free computer in the lobby which is very helpful to e-mail home. However, the Chisun Inn has an Internet Cafe just around the corner where you can use the internet in total privacy and take as long as you want. Also near the Chisun Inn is the station restaurant which has myriads of super restaurants. In summary I was very impressed with both chains. It might be easier to reserve at the Chisun Inn if you reserve close to your travel date."

Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagoya Premier
Nagoya Station,Nagoya - View on map
"This is my first visit to Nagoya. Glad that I choose this hotel as it seems new and modern. Everything is perfect.. Location just 5 mins stroll to station, surounded by shopping, lots of shopping ( I was surprised!) Both branded and non branded. Many eateries too but MUST try their local Unagi rice and the famous one( Maruya Honten Meiekiten) located in a mall which is just 5 mins walk from hotel.. Of course good stuff need to queue but really worth it! We ate there twice during my 2 nights stay.. That's how good it is!! We aren't Unagi's fan but definitely must eat in Nagoya. My only issue with the hotel is the rubbish bin in toilet is too small, so maybe can look into it this small matter. Other than that.. I will be back again when I visit Nagoya. "

The Royal Park Canvas Nagoya
Nagoya Station,Nagoya - View on map
"I spent a weeknd in Nagoya and stayed at Royal Park Hotel. The location of the hotel is in 5 mins walk to Nagoya Station, and just 3 mins from Midland Island (a high-end shoppig and dinning place, Dean Deluca is there). Also, there are hundreds of shops to satisfy all kinds of visitors. By the way, I paid a bit more to stay on Premium floor, and it's worthy! The size of the room is bigger than the average business hotesl in Japan, and free drinks at restaurant. The breakfast is as good as most people posted online, very healthy and delicated foods to energise youself in the morining. I'd definitely stay at this hotel if I go to Nagoya again."

Hilton Nagoya
Sakae,Nagoya - View on map
"I stayed here for a weekend in June. It was my first time visiting Japan so I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Hilton Nagoya was the perfect hotel for me during my stay in Nagoya. I got a great deal on agoda and got a great price on an executive room. I stayed on the 26th floor and as an executive floor bonus, I got free wifi in my room and free breakfast each day. They also offered tea service and dinner drinks and snacks. All the food was great. Also they offered a free shuttle from the hotel to Nagoya station and Nagoya castle (on the weekends). A bus to the airport also stops right in front of the hotel so it was easy to get to the airport."

DAIWA ROYNET HOTEL NAGOYA-NAYABASHI
Sakae,Nagoya - View on map
"The hotel is very nice and new! Just besides the hotel, there’s food court, supermarket and a few restaurants. 7-11 is also just opposite the hotel. It’s in between big subway stations like nagoya and Sakae, but it’s still walking distance. Hotel facilities are great and the staffs are extemely helpful. Will definitely come back again next time. Meitetsu Inn Nagoya Kanayama Annex
Kanayama,Nagoya - View on map
"This hotel is another stereotype of business hotels in Japan. It's slightly larger than what I'd expect. But still very compact and not spacious at all. But cosy enough for one night. Access to the train station is convenient, and there are stores close by. It's also a good choice if you need to catch a early plane in Centrair. Could've been cheaper, though."

Nagoya Tokyu Hotel
Sakae,Nagoya - View on map
"I visit to Nagoya 3-4 times per year, and for years I have stayed that one of the well known "western" hotel chains. On a recent trip to Nagoya, I decided to give the Tokyu a try since it would save me about 80-USD per night. I recalled staying at the Tokyu perhaps 10 years ago. When I arrived at the Tokyu, I was greeted with great coutesy, which is common at all fine hotels in Japan. My check-in was smooth, and I was escorted to my room quickly and efficiently. This was a follow-up stay, and I had left my bags with the hotel while i took an overnight bag to Osaka. My bags were ready and waiting when i arrive this second time. The rooms are a bit smaller than the Hilton, but larger than the Marriott Associa. The rooms are more Japanese in their design and decor compared to these western hotels, and I found the bed extremely comfortable, and the shower was excellent. The bathroom amenities are typical of a 4-star in Japan, and I was happy to see that the hotel has installed soap dispensers in the shower so I can avoid creating more trash by using a tiny shampoo bottle once. The single use bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap are all still provided, but I chose to use the dispenser products instead, and I was satisfied completely. Razors, toothbrushes, and other assorted items are provided along with hair dressing and aftershave. My only disappointment was with the room carpets. I stayed in two different rooms over the course of a week, and the carpets in both had small cigarette burns, and other small stains, but otherwise the room was in fine condition."

More about Nagoya

The city of Nagoya offers a big-city atmosphere, but is lightly visited, leaving it a popular destination for those looking to experience Japan, but without the hectic crowds normally found in other cities like Tokyo. With a four hundred-year old history, the city has much to offer.

One of the city’s biggest draws is Nagoya Castle. It was built in 1612 and restored in the 1950s, maintaining its magnificence and splendor. Nagoya TV Tower is an excellent site to visit for great views of the city from the 100-meter high sky balcony. When looking to explore the shopping opportunities, Oasis 21 Shopping Center and Osu Shopping Arcade provides everything from modern retail to mom-and-pop shops. Hotels can usually provide an abundance of information on recommended sites, including local gardens and cultural spots. A large expatriate community is catered to by several cafes and Western-styled restaurants. More authentic dishes would be udon noodels, kishimen, and miso nikomi udon.

Chubu Centrair International Airport serves the city of Nagoya, and hotels are conveniently connected to the city gateway via the Meitetsu Airport Line. Once in the city, six subway lines and taxis provide ample means to get around and explore Nagoya.
