PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw
National Guesthouse Zone,Nay Pyi Taw - View on map
"This is definitely my favourite hotel for conferences - no distraction, you hear and see the birds. It is situated like a palace in a green park with flowering lotus, other flowers and a nursery where you can learn the names of the plants. The staff is very friendly and helpful - with the only exception that the technicians managing the beamer did not know what to do when the connection to the computer was not working anymore. The restaurant is just lovely and the bar at the lobby invites you to socialise with other participants of your conference if you are there for business. If you want to go outside of the hotel, reception arranges the transport effectively (not many alternatives for moving around in Nay Pyi Taw). The room has good space. I got a welcome fruit and drink. The faucet in the shower needs a bit of practise for proper handling. If you have free time, enjoy the marvellous pool, the nice gym or the spa! "

The Golden Lake Hotel
Southern Nay Pyi Taw,Nay Pyi Taw - View on map
"We spent two nights there, it’s a good budget option for Naypyidaw (which will be the most expensive portion of your trip in Myanmar, expect to pay more for everything) Pros - Nice breakfast buffet, water boiler in the room to avoid using plastic bottles, we could rent a scooter (4000k an hour, yes, it’s expensive yes), friendly staff. Helped arrange bus / taxi for onward travel. Cons - since the shower doesn’t have a way to air out the ceiling get moldy and smells strongly (rest of the shower is clean though). As excepted, the bathroom is outside the room, and it’s so bizarre. Location is really far from anything at all. (A few small shops and restaurants in walking distance to neighboring town). Overall, this place is the main budget option to stay in Nay Pyi Taw. Everything in Nay Pyi Taw is expensive, but accept that before coming here and you’ll enjoy your stay."

The Lake Garden Nay Pyi Taw MGallery Collection
National Guesthouse Zone,Nay Pyi Taw - View on map
"However, only able to stay as it was heavily discounted. It was probably built and designed for upscale travellers. Sadly, the capital has an over supply of rooms and hotels seem hardpressed to fill their rooms. Overall, impressive hotel in terms of size, facilities and design. Modern comforts are cleverly incorporated while retaining Burmese traditional design elements. Personal preference to sleep in a room without any figurines or puppets facing the bed :)"

Hilton Nay Pyi Taw
National Guesthouse Zone,Nay Pyi Taw - View on map
"The hotel is sprawling, and for the most part, you won't encounter many other guests at the pool, tennis court, lake-side walking path, or even in the hallways or main restaurant. Nay Pyi Taw itself doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of nearby restaurants, so the hotel restaurant is your main bet. I personally had a few hits and misses there. The spa, however, is a hidden gem, where, for instance, you can get a top-notch massage after a long day of meetings for $50. "

The Hotel Grand ACE

"The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They helped organize a bus ticket for me, and car rental service. The gym and the swimming pool is very nice and functional, although the swimming pool water looks very green and not completely clean. The hotel room smelled a bit like sigarettes even if it was a non-smoking room, otherwise very nice hotel. Would stay here again. "

"On a good location, smiley face, helpful, beautiful staff. With this price, I think this is the best hotel so far I've found in Nay Pyi Taw. Stayed 2 weeks without any problem. Hot well pressured water, good safe box, nice and very clean towels bed sheets. Rooms are well designed. I highly suggest this hotel. Have a very helpful manager too."

The Hotel Amara
Southern Nay Pyi Taw,Nay Pyi Taw - View on map
"Was expecting a better conditioned room given the review that I read online. As it is located in the hotel zone, it is considered much more centrally located than those in Hotel Zone 2. The room is clean but very basic. The toilet used a shower curtain to "wrap around" the shower point with the pole sagging badly. The breakfast is really not amazing with limited seating in the morning. That being said, I think this hotel might be the better ones in that area. Given that hotels in Nay Pyi Taw are built to support the shifting of the country's capital from Yangon, they have their limitations. Cheers"

More about Nay Pyi Taw

Located in central Myanmar near Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw is this nation’s capital city, after having taken over the role from the bigger Yangon. The government of Myanmar moved the official offices and people to this city just about 10 years ago, making it the official capital city. Nay Pyi Taw is a relatively uncrowded city that has seen a lot of government resources invested in it, as evidenced by the huge roads and other infrastructure that abounds the city. The city does have an international airport, but most travelers arrive either by train to the Railway Station, or arrange for a private car or other ground transportation.

The Uppatasanti Peace Pagoda, which sits atop a massive stairwell, is a replica of Yangon’s Shwedagon Pagoda. This one houses an important Buddha relic and is adorned with many ornaments and sculptures. It’s a massive landmark in the city, and one of the most photographed.

Visitors to Nay Pyi Taw should not miss a visit to one of the city’s many gardens and outdoor recreational spaces, such as the National Herbal Garden. This garden contains the herbs and plants from around the country that are thought to have medicinal properties. Those traveling with families should also enjoy the many waterparks and amusement facilities located at the Ngalaik Lake Gardens.

Most of the hotels and resorts, as well as the city’s two major golf courses, are all located in the designated Hotel Zone, which is lined with many properties and shops targeted toward tourists.
