"We did not travel with our kids but wished we did it's a very nice hotel almost like a resort with the activities they provide for the whole family. As well as being very clean 👍👍. Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa
International Drive - Convention Center,Orlando (FL) - View on map
"Upon check in we were greeted by vivacious young woman name Angela, who provided one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. Thank you Angela. While leaving chk in we met by a wonderful gentleman named Freedom who offered to escort us to our room. Once we parked he proceeded to help my husband carry all of our luggage to our room. (May I mention we never asked for any directions nor help). Freedom took it upon himself to be welcoming inviting and Extremely helpful. Upon entering our room, I couldn't help but notice how clean spacious everything was. Our mattress was Brand new & very comfortable, we had a wonderful view as well. Our overall experience Was fantastic you have an amazing team, Even down to the wonderful woman (Miss Sharon I believe)who works the day shift in deli who provided my husband & I the best food , we felt at home with her. So from Boston to Orlando the Rivera family wants to thank the Westgate lakes for a wonderful experience see you soon"

Monumental Movieland Hotel
International Drive North - Universal,Orlando (FL) - View on map
"I have stayed here a few times before. Literally minutes from Universal (just cross bridge going over I4 and turn right into the parking area). It isn't fancy. There is a $100 deposit they take at the start of stay and return back at the end. Rooms is decent size. They all have fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel. Only have had the $7.99 breakfast buffet-nothing to write home about. MANY tourist shops and restaurants down the road that can be walked to. This is one of my go to hotels for a cheap couple day getaway to FL. "

Buena Vista Suites
Lake Bryan,Orlando (FL) - View on map
"Staff are very accommodating. I arrived too early for check in, and though I was willing to pay for early check in, there was no available room yet. The front desk was kind enough to notify me when there was available room already. Breakfast is great. Bacon, eggs, pitatoes, sausages, yum yum. Rooms are huge and are very clean. Free shuttle to Disney World. CVS is right across the road. If and when I do visit Orlando again, I will definitely stay here."

Days Inn by Wyndham Orlando Near Millenia Mall
Midtown,Orlando (FL) - View on map
"I was very pleased by how clean the bed was, and that the water was able to get to a comfortable temperature. I was a bit uncomfortable with the wet towels outside of the leaky A/C units. For me it made the place seem a bit more humid. Aside from that I had a rejuvenating sleep!"

Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando

"If your a traveler who has a dog good hotels are hard to find. The Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando is great for a family with a pet. They have plenty of space to exercise your pet, rooms specific for your needs. The hotel is located right across from Point Orlando shopping and restaurants so if you want to go out for dinner your not far away. Also their buffet restaurant on site or Zebras lounge serve good food at very reasonable prices. The Rosen Inn is also only about 5 miles from Disney so travel is a breeze. There are three pools to relax by and a 24 hour on site store for snacks, coffee etc."

Seralago Hotel and Suites Main Gate East
Disney Maingate - Celebration Area,Orlando (FL) - View on map
"When we looked into this property, we were concerned by the poor reviews we read online. We decided, for the money, it was worth the risk. What a shock! The hotel far surpassed our expectations. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful (additional requested towels were happily provided within 5 minutes), the room was very cute especially for families with young kids, and the amenities (heated pools, gym, game room) were very nice. The room is clean, albeit dated and could use newer cabinetry and carpeting. The a/c wasn't very strong, due in no small part to the kids "castle" that blocked the air from cooling the entire space. The ceiling fan did help mitigate this. The nearly $8 "Resort Fee" which all hotels have to one extent or another was on par, and the checking in and out of the hotel was quick and efficient. If you're looking for someplace in Orlando, close to the major theme parks, to rest your head for the night, be cute for the kids, and are on a budget then Seralago should be at the top of your list! We will return."

Westgate Town Center Resort
Disney - Maingate West,Orlando (FL) - View on map
"At first we were sent to a SMALL hotel-style room (we paid for a 1 bed villa) where our room key didn't work & our neighbors were fumigating the next-door unit with weed. However after 2 trips back to the lobby (a 10 minute walk) we were re-directed to a beautiful 1 bedroom suite that was larger than our entire house! Definitely worth the trips back and forth as well as the money. HOWEVER if I were to do something different: When you check in they "re-direct" you to another agent. THIS PROPERTY IS A TIMESHARE. The agent told us that it would be a quick 60 min resort "preview" and that if we informed our guide that we weren't interested in buying they would not take anymore of our time showing us numbers. In exchange we'd receive a free breakfast & $100 gift card/some other benefits. 2 HOURS LATER and after having to become somewhat forceful about wanting to leave we were excused. DON'T AGREE TO THE PREVIEW. Also the waterpark is just "ok" & super crowded. We only stayed 1 hour there."

More about Orlando (FL)

When Walt Disney turned his attention to Orlando in 1965, it was little more than a backwater town that made its living from orange cultivation. Seven years later, Disney's flagship theme park opened, redefining the modern amusement park. Today, Orlando receives upwards of 50 million visitors per year, making it one of the most-visited cities in the US.

Orlando International Airport evolved alongside this fast-growing holiday destination, and its four airside terminals are well equipped to handle the millions of passengers streaming through each year. Passengers arriving late at night can stay in the airport hotel. Otherwise, it's convenient to travel on and stay in one of the major hotels in Orlando’s city center.

The three biggest theme parks are Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios. These parks are constantly vying for recognition, and visitors enjoy better attractions and greater discounts in the process.

There's no question that Orlando is a purpose-built city with children in mind, but there's still plenty to thrill parents in and out of the parks. The city itself is separate from the parks district, and it overflows with designer boutiques and fine-dining restaurants. Between the production troupes inside the parks and the chic dance clubs and lounges attached to hotels in Orlando, there's as much to do after dark as there is during the daytime.
