Villa is by far the better of the main Ormoc hotels. Better value, better in-room facilities, better service and far less restrictions than Sabin. For basically the same price, Villa provides a far better location for access to the city proper, and little things like in-room fridge, a kettle with complimentary coffee, complimentary bottled water, and a bidet for sanitary needs, none of which Sabin has. You can bring outside food, drinks, food delivery etc also which Sabin is ridiculously strict on. Having shared equal time between Villa hotel and Sabin this visit, I will only stay at Villa from now on.

After I left Tacloban for volunteering and I decided to just relax for bit before I go to Cebu so Ormoc sounded good. I looked online for cheap hotels and saw Oriental. Had bad reviews online and I just wanted to give a try so I booked for just 1 night. One of the kids that worked at the front desk was nice to me. I told him if I like the room I will book couple more days. I went around the city and met couple locals, business owners and a girl that works at the mayors office and made some friends then decided to stay longer in Ormoc City. Hotel was very close to downtown. The bed was comfortable and the air condition 👍🏻 awesome! Agoda.com has some good deals so why not. I booked 3 more nights. If I come back to Ormoc City, I will be staying there again. The hotel is under new management and they are renovating so it's a mess here and there. Hopefully when I go back, they are done with the renovation. Also the girl that workers at the front desk brought me a coffe in my room. 👍🏻

For a developing city like Ormoc, this resort is comfortable enough to stay. The surrounding is clean and simply nice if you just want to relax or get out of the hustle and bustle of city life. Hotel rooms are clean, blankets and towels are clean. Food is good but limited options. However, you can easily go to the city proper if you want sophisticated foods. Staff are courteous and helpful. Overall, this hotel is really OK to stay particularly for family bondings or an overnight stay for business travelers.
