"We stayed at the "Run of House" room in the RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka for 4nights this time and we highly recommend it for family travelling with children. When we made the booking, we understood in general that it was hard to find a hotel room big enough in Japan so we were only looking for somewhere with a relatively larger room - we didn't realize what we booked in RIHGA was actually a Suite. It offered enough beds for everyone and a huge family bath/shower room. In addition, it has an extra living room (yes, that's correct!!), and an extra toilet room, which was a big nice surprise to all of us - and it was all reasonablely priced. RIHGA hotel itself is a grand hotel with quite a few nice restaurants and shops. Staff at the RIHGA are all very nice and speak good English. We would certainly like to come back in future."

"we booked our room only 2 weeks before our arrival and we got a very good rate. the room was very clean and spacious, when you compare to other mini room across osaka. i got a room on high floor and could take a look at the skyline of osaka city every day and night which was amazing. hotel services were very professional. hotel location was unbeatable which was right at the shopping area of shinsaibashi with subway underneath the hotel connected to daimaru department store! you can't find any hotel more convenient than nikko hotel in osaka city! "Basic Accomodation. Nothing more than a place to rest and recharge after spending most of your time outside in Osaka. Close to Umeda nightlife. Yes the area is an adult nightlife area but in Japan this is not so unheard of. This neighborhood has some hostess clubs and love hotels and lots of neon signs suggesting this but none of it is in your face. The Umeda area is full of restaurants shopping and nightlife. Im not sure this is a good area for a family looking for a Disneyfied experience but when I am in Osaka I culd care a less about it. I spend all my time outside and enjoy the nightlife. I only come to my rooom to take a shower, charge batteries, and sleep. Hotel does have laundry facilities which are helpful. This is just a small room with a bed tv and shower. A good place to get some rest after all day exploring Osaka or a night of drinking and eating. Dont stay here if you are a princess stay here if you want to save money and just need to rest. It serves its purpose perfectly. "

"When I get to the hotel in Osaka,it's very convinent for me to use every facility in this hotel ,only except of the washing machine.Too many people need to use that machine, directly makes this kind of service unavaliable.I suggest you put the washing and drying machine out of the spring room ,no matter men and women both can use it.It has two kinds of advance. Fist,it can makes more machines avaliable at the same time;second,it can makes everyone get the chance to wash or dry their clothes."

"The place is really clean i saw cleaners cleaning all the common area and they change bedsheets and clean room as per request. The location is very strategic as its near JR shinimamiya and subway shinimamiya and Dobutsuen mae subway station. Nearby 24 hrs grocery store ,family mart, daiso, don quijote and Tsutenkaku tower and osaka zoo. Staff is very friendly. i have stayed in many guesthouse in this area and i would say this is the best. For those saying the place is dangerous that is not true!!!! There might be some homeless people here but they are very old people which are not even capable of doing any harm to you. This is japan hahaha (not a 3rd world country) so it is safe everywhere i even walk late night here and its very safe in general in all parts of japan. Newly renovated lobby and small restaurant and takoyaki and ice cream shop has recently opened within the building. This place is best for budget and solo traveler. P.S. be aware there are some inconsiderate guests that will bang there room door even during sleeping hours (Koreans and Chinese are the most inconsiderate guests."

"We were happy with our hotel in Osaka. The best thing about the hotel was the location - right near the main entertainment/shopping district. The semi-double room was quite small but as long as you are prepared for this it is ok. We found that booking this hotel on the Agoda website was the best deal for a hotel at this location."

"The hotel is very new, only opened in late November 2019. Location wise, it is absolutely the best!!! It is connected to Osaka Station and from the overhead pedestrian walkway (easier to maneuver the huge station city) and the Osaka/Umeda Station, we could go to Lucua, Hankyu, Daimaru, Hanshin and Grand Front Osaka departmental stores! It is simply amazing. The hotel room is clean and nicely furnished. However, due to the layout, it is too cramped for four of us. I thought the room is 47m2 but we really found it hard to move around the room. There are 4 single beds in the room and only one table top right in front of the TV with a smaller lower adjacent table where the kettle and cups are placed. We couldn't find anywhere to place our three midsized luggages other than the small floor area between the wall and the beds. There is also no shelving or hooks in the bathroom, so we have to place them outside below the sink. It would be nice if the hotel could free up more space in room."

"Hotels in Japan are quite expensive so it's a given that you'll pay north of $100/night for a decent room. After looking at many hotels in Osaka and Kyoto, we decided to make Cross hotel our base for 2 nights. We were at the tail end of our 3 week trip in Japan so we wanted a place we can easily access good food and lots of shopping. Cross Hotel gave us that a more. The room is quite nice and more spacious (very rare) than we thought. This is in comparison with other hotels (3.5-5 stars) we've stayed at throughout Japan. We love the sit-down bathroom and the full tub. Amenities are awesome (designer stuff from both Japanese & French brands). As for being in the center of things, this hotel is next to the Dotonburi canal. You have food, shopping and night life in Dotonbori, tons of shopping (and more food) in Shinsaibashi (right behind the hotel), and Don Quijote (famous discount store with tons of stuff) is right in front of the hotel. Namba district is also 15 mins away. "

"The hotel is located inside the station. It is easier to travel to any part of Kansai from the hotel. Restaurants and convenient shop, Tokyu Hands and shopping mall are between walking distance. Room is spacious and comfortable. Clean bed sheet and towels are being changed every day, their do the housekeeping properly where you can't find any dirty dust in the room. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to travel to Osaka. For sure, this is my favorite hotel in Osaka. Good Job Granvia Osaka! "

More about Osaka

Having gotten its start in the 1500s when its grand castle was built, Japan's second-largest city is still a place where locals appreciate the value of fine foods and designer goods. While Osaka can't compete with Tokyo in terms of scale, it certainly has a reputation for refined living.

Most of the hotels in Osaka are in Umeda, near the bullet train station. These include major international names set in prominent entertainment districts. These hotels are convenient choices for business travelers as well as tourists.

On the surface, Osaka looks like any other big city, but it hides a mammoth shopping arcade underground. A couple of these are among the largest malls in Japan, and they're completely out of sight. Above-ground boutiques are also located in the Namba and Shinsaibashi districts. Osaka Castle, a Universal Studios theme park, and the enormous Osaka Aquarium are some of the city’s major attractions.

Osaka's international gateway is Kansai International Airport. The main terminal is a mile long and well equipped with dining and shopping facilities as well as a rail link to the city center.

Be sure to check out the interactive map of Osaka for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
