Daiwa Roynet Hotel Osaka-Kitahama
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"I stayed for 6 nights at this hotel. I stayed 4 nights first, then I left for 3 nights in Kyoto, and came back again to stay here for 2 nights. They provide luggage storage for free. The staff was genuinely help me when I checked in at night (23.00-24.00). Many thanks for Mr, Yahata. You are one of best hotel staff I meet. Location is superb. The downstairs to subway (Kitahama Staion) is only 8 meters from the hotel. One of the important thing about this hotel: you can ride train by Keihan Line to Kyoto directly from Kitahama Station. It is very convenient to travel between Osaka-Kyoto. It is also convenient to travel between this Hotel and Kansai Airport. (Only one transfer at Tengachaya Station). Superb! The beds were comfort and clean. The only thing that should be improved: The Laundry room only provides 3 machines and one of them is broken. I suggest they should provide at least 5 machines."

Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"The hotel is very new, only opened in late November 2019. Location wise, it is absolutely the best!!! It is connected to Osaka Station and from the overhead pedestrian walkway (easier to maneuver the huge station city) and the Osaka/Umeda Station, we could go to Lucua, Hankyu, Daimaru, Hanshin and Grand Front Osaka departmental stores! It is simply amazing. The hotel room is clean and nicely furnished. However, due to the layout, it is too cramped for four of us. I thought the room is 47m2 but we really found it hard to move around the room. There are 4 single beds in the room and only one table top right in front of the TV with a smaller lower adjacent table where the kettle and cups are placed. We couldn't find anywhere to place our three midsized luggages other than the small floor area between the wall and the beds. There is also no shelving or hooks in the bathroom, so we have to place them outside below the sink. It would be nice if the hotel could free up more space in room."

Hotel Universal Port Vita
Bay Area,Osaka - View on map
"It was our first time in Osaka & in Japan. Miss Kawahira made sure that we were treated well & that we had the best experience at Hotel Universal Port Vita. She personally wrote us a card to wish us a Happy 28th Wedding Anniversary. Miss Kawahira has excellent work ethics, is dedicated to her job and has a welcoming & caring personality. She went out of her way by providing us with clear instructions on how to get from Yokohama to Hotel Universal Port Vita by the Shinkansen train & then to Lake Biwa by the JR train. She recommended us to some areas of interest & even walked us to the pier to catch our boat ride to the Port of Osaka. I hope her manager will recognize Miss Kawahira for a job well done & make sure that she receives the employee of the month award for her outstanding service. Thank you, Hotel Universal Port Vita, for having such an exemplary employee work for you. Because of people like Miss Kawahira, we will stay at your hotel again. Mr. & Mrs. T. USA"

karaksa hotel grande Shin-Osaka Tower
Shin Osaka,Osaka - View on map
"I found Karaksa the best choice hotel for location that is near to Shin Osaka which has JR, Metro and Shinkansen and lots of restaurants. It took abt 5-8 min to walk to station. Staff are helpful and very nice. They delivered our luggage to the room already when we got back to the hotel at 9pm in the first night. The room has everything even more than we expected - a small sofa, a bath tub, pajamas (compared to what we heard about hotels in Japan). Beds are comfy two pillows (hard and soft). Shower was strong and we can put two (one big and one small) luggages in the room. Lawson downstair- u dont need to go out of the building and public bath which is very clean and not crowded. Room is also clean. The building is new and well designed. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Fyi that I had two beds standard room. "

Hotel Universal Port
Bay Area,Osaka - View on map
"this hotel is definitely the best option if you're going to universal studios in osaka. the price is incredibly reasonable and the rooms are the best in town. everything is clean and well maintained. i also found the rooms to be very spacious and a little more "western like". it's not for the downtown experience but a great addition to your trip if you're planning to spend a week or so in osaka. taking out money is a bit tricky as the lawson doesn't allow international visas. there is a 7-11 about a 10 minute walk from the hotel where you can take out funds. in fact, try to know where all of the 7-11's are in japan wherever you're staying as they are a great place for not only taking out money but also pigging out on snacks. happy travels. Cross Hotel Osaka
Shinsaibashi,Osaka - View on map
"Hotels in Japan are quite expensive so it's a given that you'll pay north of $100/night for a decent room. After looking at many hotels in Osaka and Kyoto, we decided to make Cross hotel our base for 2 nights. We were at the tail end of our 3 week trip in Japan so we wanted a place we can easily access good food and lots of shopping. Cross Hotel gave us that a more. The room is quite nice and more spacious (very rare) than we thought. This is in comparison with other hotels (3.5-5 stars) we've stayed at throughout Japan. We love the sit-down bathroom and the full tub. Amenities are awesome (designer stuff from both Japanese & French brands). As for being in the center of things, this hotel is next to the Dotonburi canal. You have food, shopping and night life in Dotonbori, tons of shopping (and more food) in Shinsaibashi (right behind the hotel), and Don Quijote (famous discount store with tons of stuff) is right in front of the hotel. Namba district is also 15 mins away. "

Hotel Trusty Osaka Abeno
Tennoji,Osaka - View on map
"We stayed at the Premium Double Room and it was much better than expected. + great location, within 5 mins walk to Tennoji station, which is 3 stops away from Namba + clean and nice room decor for a four star hotel. It’s got a sofa area and walking space on each side of the bed (relatively spacious compared to many hotels in Osaka) + connected to multiple shopping malls and supermarkets, great for getting last minute shopping before heading to the airport + direct train to Osaka Kansai International Airport in 50 mins + friendly staff If they improve on these things, it can become a higher tiered four star hotel - provide complimentary bottled water. Even though tap water is drinkable, every other four star hotel we stayed at previously offered that, it’s hard not to compare. - provide in-room safety box. Reception told us they can offer that centrally but not in-room. A bit old school to be honest. - better quality amenities and pumps - more tv channels"

More about Osaka

Having gotten its start in the 1500s when its grand castle was built, Japan's second-largest city is still a place where locals appreciate the value of fine foods and designer goods. While Osaka can't compete with Tokyo in terms of scale, it certainly has a reputation for refined living.

Most of the hotels in Osaka are in Umeda, near the bullet train station. These include major international names set in prominent entertainment districts. These hotels are convenient choices for business travelers as well as tourists.

On the surface, Osaka looks like any other big city, but it hides a mammoth shopping arcade underground. A couple of these are among the largest malls in Japan, and they're completely out of sight. Above-ground boutiques are also located in the Namba and Shinsaibashi districts. Osaka Castle, a Universal Studios theme park, and the enormous Osaka Aquarium are some of the city’s major attractions.

Osaka's international gateway is Kansai International Airport. The main terminal is a mile long and well equipped with dining and shopping facilities as well as a rail link to the city center.
