The hotel was very modern and airy which is unusual for a Japanese hotel. It is just up the valley from Takachiho Gorge (about 15-20mins walk away, or 2 mins drive) and it seemed like it was the closest hotel to the gorge. A very traditional japanese-style hotel. Tho the room is a bit old, it's absolutely clean. Very spacious which is very suitable for families. A good location to stay overnight for seeing the sunrise and visiting Takachiho Gorge (高千穂峡) and Amanoyasu Kawara. You can enjoy the tranquility in the area.

One of the best accommodation that I've stayed in Japan. Check in was easy. Staff was very friendly and approachable. The view of the mountains, trees and blue sky was definitely a plus point for me. I wish I could have stayed longer. I am definitely coming back here again.

Very friendly staff, nice big rooms and great view over Iwato landscape. Great guesthouse to stay for visit to Amano Iwato Shrine or Amano Iwato Onsen. Only one toilet, shower, sink on the floor however, so sometimes you have to wait a bit. Recommended!
