The owner of this house is an old lady who can't speak english, we arrived with big luggage and had to wait until dark to check in since the owner was missing, it's wasting our half day time for traveling around the lake. Two technicians existing there helped us to call the owner and offered us their finished-working guest room, which we had to still stay in that room for 2 nights without getting room change even the owner had arrived. We were pushed to pay extra for using heater. Hotel is easy to access, just at first stop (Nishiyama) from JR lake toya station by bus, but there is nothing around hotel, we must take bus again or taxi to visit city and lake in Toyako Onsen area. The owner was so talkative eventhough we didn't understand what she said, she was nice to drive us to city for dinner, but then left us, so we finally spent extra taxi fare to go back to hotel. Room is spacious, has 2 floors, kitchen sink, and private bathroom with the lowest price of all hotels there.

We encountered a snowstorm upon arrival in December and the staff was telling us when would be a good time to leave the hotel which made us feel good because they were concerned about our safety. The hotel also provided umbrella for guests so it came in very handy when there was snow or heavy rain. The view in the room was indeed spectacular so I would definitely book the room again if I am visiting the area. You have to make your bed (futon) everyday but it's okay for us. It's just a little tedious to use the bathroom as they are located outside (shared). You have to leave your shoes at the entrance of the building and switch to a pair of in-house slippers and change them each time you use the common toilet. Breakfast was certainly memorable as it was very local. The location of the hotel is very good as well. The lake (with great views) is just a few steps away while the bus station is just a mere 10-15 minutes walk away. All the good restaurants are within 20 mins walk radius as well.

The hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants and convenient stores. The only down point to the stay is our room is located at first floor, which is underground. It defeated my purpose of booking this hotel as the main reason I booked Hotel Grand Toya is to enjoy the lake view and also the fireworks at night. If not for the lake view, I would have rather book a cheaper/average hotel. Anyway, their onsen was great. There are 3 indoor pools (2 hot, 1 cold jacuzzi) and 1 small outdoor pool. Temperature was bearable, ranging from 39-42 degree celsius. Our first dip into onsen was enjoyable!

We were impressed by the service standard provided by the hotel staff. Despite they understood little English, they tried their very best in interpreting what we tried to say. In the end, we used language translator app to communicate. Hotel provided complimentary shuttle service to/from JR station with prior booking, making it convenient to travel as the distance took about 10 minutes ride. The hotel was located near to Lake Toya. It's a short walk to the Lake for summer firework viewing.

The hotel was a distance away (10 mins walk) from the Toyako Onsen bus station, but you can take a Donan bus that stop nearby the hotel. The hotel is very close to the Illumination tunnel and Illumination street. We were able to see the Winter Fireworks up close and it was the best of the 4 fireworks we saw in Hokkaido. The room is very spacious and has a aircon, heater and electric fan. We were also able to use the onsen of the hotel beside ours, which has a great view. There are also tax free drug stores where we got our fix of beauty products.

One of our best all-around hotel stays ever. Not the best time of the year to visit this area because of the weather, but more than made up by gorgeous surroundings, comfortable accommodations and great food. Breakfast and dinner were included and both were gourmet quality at very reasonable rates. We look forward to returning some day during warmer weather. to explore the countryside.

This is one of the best hotel we stayed in our trip to hokkaido. We book the Japanese style with half board, it has a very nice view over the lake. Room wasn't big but good enough for our family of 4. after check in, we had a walk in the town and counting ourselves lucky that we got a half board package as the surrounding seems quite with only few restaurants. The out door onsen is good as I find the indoor a bit stuffy. The dinner was GREAT with lots of variety of Japanese dishes served to you in the room. Staff was very polite and I should say I have zero complain on this hotel.

The staff at Kitutuki Canadian Club were very friendly. We booked one night there for a cottage with five people inclusive dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent and delicious. We couldn't see the firework at the lake from our balcony as blocked by the trees so we walked to the car park in front of the check-in house to watch it. As we are on the other side of the lake (which is good as much quiet) the firework was smaller but we still enjoyed it. We enjoyed very much the stay and will definitely stay there again if we visit Lake Toya in future.

Best stay in Hokkaido! Thoroughly enjoyed every part of this hotel - the private Onden in every room, the public Onsen, the service staff (special mention of Take-San who is the F&B service manager). Breakfast spread was great, especially the soup udon with soft boiled egg, and freshly baked croissants. Highly recommended stay for those visiting Lake Toya. Just note that We Hotel is not situated in the Toya town so folks who are not driving (without cars) will find this a little far off from the beaten track.

I went with a very low expectation as I read some negative reviews. I personally think that they are totally wrong!!! My group consists of 3 families with a total of 13 pax (4 children). We totally enjoyed our stay and want to be back again. The hotel location is very strategic. You can enjoy watching the 3 series of fireworks in just a few steps to e lake or from your room. Always wait for e grand finale of every series of fireworks with e 1st one beig e best. The tatami room is huge. The onsen is fantastic! We love the outdoor tubes. Visit e onsen during night & day as e hotel switch between Female & Male onsen so that guests get to experience both. The Bingo game at e lobby (8pm) was fun! Pay JPY500 for a Bingo coupon to play. There are sufficient parking lots right opp the hotel and 7-eleven is right next to the hotel. The breakfast & dinner buffet spread are great too! The staff are very friendly and went the extra mile to help us. We'll be back.

The sheer size and scale of the hotel is something you don't really get in Japan. Even driving to the hotel you can see from quite far away the hotel perched on top of the mountain overlooking Lake Toya. When you finally arrive, then you get a feel of how big the hotel actually is. We had originally booked Junior ocean view suite, but I think we got upgraded as we were on our honeymoon. The view from the room was amazing. They have one 3 Michelin starred restaurant and another restaurant with 1 Michelin star.

The hotel is very modern and located next to the lake. There was a firework at night during our stay too. The hotel room is spacious and come with lake view in every room. The best thing is its onsen, they have outdoor and indoor ones. The outdoor onsen is so breathtaking. The view is unbeatable, very chill and relaxing. However, they should improve their buffet since it is a 5-star hotel, i expected their food to be better than that.
