Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"The hotel is very new, only opened in late November 2019. Location wise, it is absolutely the best!!! It is connected to Osaka Station and from the overhead pedestrian walkway (easier to maneuver the huge station city) and the Osaka/Umeda Station, we could go to Lucua, Hankyu, Daimaru, Hanshin and Grand Front Osaka departmental stores! It is simply amazing. The hotel room is clean and nicely furnished. However, due to the layout, it is too cramped for four of us. I thought the room is 47m2 but we really found it hard to move around the room. There are 4 single beds in the room and only one table top right in front of the TV with a smaller lower adjacent table where the kettle and cups are placed. We couldn't find anywhere to place our three midsized luggages other than the small floor area between the wall and the beds. There is also no shelving or hooks in the bathroom, so we have to place them outside below the sink. It would be nice if the hotel could free up more space in room."

karaksa hotel grande Shin-Osaka Tower
Shin Osaka,Osaka - View on map
"I found Karaksa the best choice hotel for location that is near to Shin Osaka which has JR, Metro and Shinkansen and lots of restaurants. It took abt 5-8 min to walk to station. Staff are helpful and very nice. They delivered our luggage to the room already when we got back to the hotel at 9pm in the first night. The room has everything even more than we expected - a small sofa, a bath tub, pajamas (compared to what we heard about hotels in Japan). Beds are comfy two pillows (hard and soft). Shower was strong and we can put two (one big and one small) luggages in the room. Lawson downstair- u dont need to go out of the building and public bath which is very clean and not crowded. Room is also clean. The building is new and well designed. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Fyi that I had two beds standard room. "

Hotel Monterey Osaka
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"Our stay at Hotel Monterey Osaka was the first hotel that we stayed in our 13 days Japan tour. I would say it had given us a nice first impression of Japan. The room was spacious for 3 (triple room) and we slept comfortably. We like the view from the window through which we could see the chapel (at 8th floor) within the building made for purpose of wedding ceremony. We could also see majestic Umeda Sky Building from our window. The location was great as we could easily find food around Osaka station just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. For shopping, you could find Daimaru Department Store and other shops above Osaka Station. If you would like to have more variety of food and shopping, Dotonburi is just 10 minutes Subway ride away from Osaka Station. We would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers. "

"The hotel is located inside the station. It is easier to travel to any part of Kansai from the hotel. Restaurants and convenient shop, Tokyu Hands and shopping mall are between walking distance. Room is spacious and comfortable. Clean bed sheet and towels are being changed every day, their do the housekeeping properly where you can't find any dirty dust in the room. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to travel to Osaka. For sure, this is my favorite hotel in Osaka. Good Job Granvia Osaka! "

Hotel Universal Port Vita

"It was our first time in Osaka & in Japan. Miss Kawahira made sure that we were treated well & that we had the best experience at Hotel Universal Port Vita. She personally wrote us a card to wish us a Happy 28th Wedding Anniversary. Miss Kawahira has excellent work ethics, is dedicated to her job and has a welcoming & caring personality. She went out of her way by providing us with clear instructions on how to get from Yokohama to Hotel Universal Port Vita by the Shinkansen train & then to Lake Biwa by the JR train. She recommended us to some areas of interest & even walked us to the pier to catch our boat ride to the Port of Osaka. I hope her manager will recognize Miss Kawahira for a job well done & make sure that she receives the employee of the month award for her outstanding service. Thank you, Hotel Universal Port Vita, for having such an exemplary employee work for you. Because of people like Miss Kawahira, we will stay at your hotel again. Mr. & Mrs. T. USA"

Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka

"The hotel is at a good location, only few mins walk to the subway station. Lobby was beautiful and clean, reception was friendly however extremely slow. This time not sure why upon our check-in, the front desk told us they will upgrade us to a better room but with two single beds instead of one king bed as we booked. We said no it's ok we would still like to have the king size bed... I asked if it is because they were double booking, they said yes. I said then I'm okay to take something that is not what I booked, however maybe the hotel can offer the complimentary breakfast for the next morning. After a while they all a sudden said they have the room we booked. Aside from that strange question, the process is extremely slow. It took more than 30 mins for them to check in and the reason is that they let intern dealing with customers. I understand that most hotels have intern system, but usually with a supervisor standing aside to quickly teach them what to do. Won't stay here again."

Hotel Nikko Osaka
Shinsaibashi,Osaka - View on map
"This hotel was a pleasant surprise as it was directly above the MRT station Shinbashi (the Osaka Subway). It made it so much easier to access the Osaka subway lines, including getting connections to the main JR lines. For those who are travelling on the Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka, it actually is easy to get from Shin-Osaka JR station to this subway line. From Shin-Osaka, its only 3 stops to get to the subway of Shinbashi, and just a short walk to the hotel. Rooms are reasonable by Japanese standards - we had 5 people staying but got 2 rooms directly next to each other. For some reason, its very difficult to find connecting rooms in Japan, but the hotel gave us two rooms right next to each other. Best of all, the hotel baggage does have a Yamato service, which allowed us to send our large baggages (we are travelling with 3 young children, in winter) ahead to our following destination. Suitably located at their check-in lobby, it was a breeze to send 3 large suitcase to our next destination in Nagoya - it was great instead of carrying 3 suitcases into the Shinkansen. I would recommend highly this hotel - its great service, great friendly staff and also, if you are into visiting using the subway, its a breeze to get to and fro from the hotel to the subway. "

Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka

"Japan is tough for hotels...they are very expensive and the rooms are usually TINY, especially in Tokyo and Kyoto. This hotel was different. It wasn't cheap, but it was much less expensive than the hotels we booked in other cities, but the room was GREAT. The bed was the most comfy we had all trip. The view was excellent. The AC worked great. The bed wasn't in a corner--two bedside tables! And the lighting was thoughtfully done and not harsh. Water pressure was not quite as good as the other hotels we stayed in. The location is in a hotel zone in the north of Osaka, near the main station. It was a decent location. There is a whole maze of underground pathways/shopping areas that lead you to the various stations nearby, so it was always fun walking through those to hit the metro or JR lines. We walked a LOT though. So if you're not into that, maybe stay more central or closer to a station. But it was raining in Osaka and we spent half the time underground which worked out great!"

"Stylish and modern in a great location. what more could you ask for. The room was very spacious, bay window seat was a nice touch you dont often find in hotels these days. Amazing shower and products. Love this hotel. Slightly noisy (Saturday night) with sirens I presume from dotonburi area but only once or twice, not all night. Definatly coming back to stay again. "

Hotel Universal Port
Bay Area,Osaka - View on map
"this hotel is definitely the best option if you're going to universal studios in osaka. the price is incredibly reasonable and the rooms are the best in town. everything is clean and well maintained. i also found the rooms to be very spacious and a little more "western like". it's not for the downtown experience but a great addition to your trip if you're planning to spend a week or so in osaka. taking out money is a bit tricky as the lawson doesn't allow international visas. there is a 7-11 about a 10 minute walk from the hotel where you can take out funds. in fact, try to know where all of the 7-11's are in japan wherever you're staying as they are a great place for not only taking out money but also pigging out on snacks. happy travels.
