Great choice ”
We have stayed at the Diamond Plaza before and thankfully doesn’t change. Yes it’s an old hotel, yes it’s dated inside but for the price it’s excellent value. The rooms are large, the bed linen is white and fresh as are the towels and it’s very clean. It is a bit out of town but if traveling by car/bus or bike it’s ideal. We ate in the restaurant both nights and both nights had entertainment on stage . Food is very reasonably priced so there was no need to go elsewhere. There is a Tesco Lotus across the road and shopping mail around the corner. It’ Certainly worth recommending.

Staff are professional, polite and welcoming, great location, not far away from the shopping mall- love the hot shower :)- with pressure! Nice pool, gym isn’t very good it didn’t give me the motivation to workout( so went to eat instead :). Breakfast has plenty of room to eat with good coffee, Thai food and American breakfast. Highly recommended

Surat Thani is such a small town with nothing to see. This hotel is the only 3-4* hotel in town, provide good room stay and good breakfast.

The hotel need refurbish however it's still good value for your money. With superb location, close to city centre and main shopping centre (Central Department store) and 14 km from airport. Staffs and common services are up to standard and I don't mind give them 4 stars for everything except the gym which is in need of attention. Don't skip breakfast because it is delicious here and food are generous.

This hotel is the #1 hotel in Surat Thani for weddings, conventions, etc. From a a westerner's point of view, it is utterly hopeless. Hard uncomfortable pillows on the bed. For American breakfast, the fried eggs are served cold. Not warm, not luke-warm, but cold. A huge tray of cold fried eggs. Nobody there had a clue that Westerners like their fried eggs hot or at least warm. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries for lunch. There was a choice of hamburger, fish burger or cheeseburger, all at the same price. Guess what....the cheeseburger contained no beef patty. Just cheeses, lettuce an onion. Never in my entire l8ke have I had a cheeseburger with no meat! Seevice is painfully slow. Getting a server's attention is virtually impossible. The reception staff were good, but again, this place is not for tourists, and neither is Surat Thani. Apart from night markets, you can die of boredom in this insustrial town of 185,000.

Have stayed here many time, and its located good when we visit family, but with the years the hotel start to looks very old and careless with the cleaning. I think we will look for another hotel next time we visit surat thani

Pros, Good location, staff is great, not expensive Cons, Old building, rooms are ok but electric console for AC, lights etc. Not convenient. Hardly any electric outlets in room. Zero by the bed. Breakfast is super basic and lacks tasteful foods. Stayed 4 times, located near the big mall can walk to if you wish.
