Fantastic stay!!”

We booked a 7 night stay at short notice at a discounted price. When we looked closer at the photos of the resort we realised we had stayed here before - 10 years ago. We were not disappointed with our choice, au contraire! Lovely spacious clean room with a good sized balcony and comfy chairs. Bathroom a bit dated but functional, with organic shampoo etc. Fan and air con worked well. Bed was a good size but pillows were very hard, got used to them after a couple of days. The 2 swimming pools are decent, lots of su lounges around both with comfy cushions. Location is right on one of the best beaches on Koh Lanta and the resort offers free pick up from the pier 👍. Lots of restaurants on the beach and a 5 min walk up the road . A bit more expensive in comparison to other Thailand Islands, especially on drinks. Big Singha beer in 7 Eleven = approx 65 baht, in restaurant = 130 to 140 baht. Coke = 14 baht in 7/11 and 30 to 40 baht in restaurant. Breakfast options were very good, a varied Thai buffet dish every day with lots of chicken.- cooked very well!!There is an egg station and other options of fruit, yogurt etc. So pleased we booked this resort. We really enjoyed our time here.

Very nice owner operated hotel on the beach”

We stay at DR Lanta for almost 3 weeks in the very low season. It was wonderful. Both pools have a kid pool that was great for our 3 year old. The beach is wonderful for people with little kids. It's calm and shallow. It's a short ride in a tuktuk or walk up the beach into Saladan. There's a great German bakery within walking distance. There's a cooking school right on the beach to the south of the hotel where you can learn to make great Thai food. DR Lanta isn't as fancy as the hotel next door, but the service is much better.

Great hotel with affordable price”

During low season (May-Oct), the hotel has a very good rate because not so many people come to Koh Lanta during this season. It's very quiet, private. The staffs are supportive. One minus point is some of the staffs do not know English, which is important for the receptionist. Restaurants are closed during low season, but it is better to find local food in the town. The garden is so beautiful and we love our stay here.

Great staff, great location, good price”

We stayed in low season, so the resort was very quiet. They upgraded us to a bungalow which was a little dated but clean and large. The pool was lovely, and the resort is right on the beach. The manager was really kind. We were sick for a couple of days and hec checked up on us. When we moved to another resort ( I needed wifi for work and DR Lanta does not have it in low season) they even gave us a free ride! My only complaint is that it should be made clearer on Agoda that some facilities maynot be available during low season (wifi, bar, restaurant).

We stayed 6 nights & were impressed with the relaxed atmosphere of this hotel. 2 clean pools , lots of nice swedish people. Rode mopeds around the Island. Elephant ride through the forrest.Memorable snorkling trip. Lanta old town is worth a visit and there is always something happening at night somewhere .There is something for everyone here.

Lovely front beach”

This is a nice family resort. The rooms are wide with lots of storage. The beds are huge and one room can easily accommodate a family of 4. It´s not a quite and peaceful hotel taking into account de amount of children that run around. The swimming pool is then definitely not a pleasant place but conversely the front beach is a good alternative. There can you find a lot of options like going for a paddle lesson or if you prefer a nice foot massage. Personally I found de staff a bit rough but the hotel was so overcrowded that it becomes difficult sometimes to be nice under pressure. They announce that they have free wi-fi but it never works unless you pay for it. Koh Lanta is a lovely island full of diversity and good energy. From the hotel you can easily ask for a tuk tuk and go to the city center.

Good but wrong time of year”

This was a nice resort on what I would imagine is a beautiful beach in the dry season. Unfortunately we were there in July and there was rubbish all over the beach and jelly fish. My advice is don't go to Lanta in the wet season. Most things are shut down so not much happening. Also we found it very expensive to eat or shop.

Value for money”

Just perfect! Probably the Best value for Money on Lanta if you are a family with children. Two Nice pools, always a sunbed, Nice Staff and a good breakfast buffet.

Excellent Resort Right on the Beach”

Stayed Dec 2019 so forget many of the earlier reviews. The place was immaculate. The gardens & grounds tended daily & the pools cleaned. My room serviced daily. Pool towels supplied. I had a room rather than bungalow, it was cheaper and I thought better. It had a good open aspect with view of the top pool whereas bungalows a bit crowded in. Some say rooms old fashioned, but this is typical dark wood Thai furniture. Good and solid, rather than modern stuff that falls apart after a few weeks. Plenty of electrical sockets, multi language TV (lots of English) and strong WiFi. Electric shower a bit weak. Breakfast was great. Same every day, but when choice so good, who cares. Cereal & meusli; 3 fresh fruit; 3 juices; fresh cooked omelette or egg of choice; (plastic) ham & sausages; toast, butter & marmalade; croissant & mini pancakes; plus 3 local dishes. Crazy price of a beer in restaurant 160 baht! My only reservation; it only ⅓rd full, it would be a bit crowded when full.

Great location and nice Bungalows”

This is a lovely resort with nice Bungalows and beach setting. There are 2 nice pools but a shortage of shade because there were no parasols at all - had to rely on shade from trees etc,this was OK at the beach front pool but no shade at all at the rear pool. The Hotel and this area of Lanta is very much geared to young families so didn't really suit us. The beach bar was popular for happy hour to watch the sun go down; great sunsets. Apart from breakfast which was just OK we didn't eat at the hotel and there was no life at all in the evenings here but there were plenty of restaurants and bars to walk out to along the beach.

Exceptional”

Good place to stay with kids, nice pool, spacious rooms and bathroom. hotel on the beach, beautiful sunsets. However not enough shade by the pool. We had booked the hotel for 17 nights, but due to COVID-19 we had to change plans and cancel half of our stay, hotel agreed to refund most of our nights.

Lovely resort, perfect for the beach and town.”

The resort appears to be well maintained,the staff are lovely too. Our bungalow required improvements, the paint was looking aged, the bathroom quite worn and the fridge needed replacing some while ago. The room had clean linen every day and the bathroom was serviced though it could have been better. Breakfast was 'average' but ample, the bar food was ok but nothing special. There are many more positives than nevatives at this resort and I would be happy to recommend iyt

Nice budget rooms”

We got two standard rooms with a door between. We loved to sit in the shade on the balconies and used the pool quite a lot. The rooms were clean and cleaned well. The bathrooms could need an update as they felt half finished. The restaurant was ok. The breakfast buffet was pretty basic. To summarize: an ok resort. Nothing fancy or special but nice and clean.

Lovely resort in idyllic location”

Nice size rooms in pretty grounds. Very good breakfast included. WiFi was reliable. Set right on a beach with shallow water so ideal for families with young children. Two good size pools but it was a shame there wasn't any shade provided at the second pool which was a peaceful retreat.

Great value delux building”

Best value for a while in Thailand in my last 25 trips/years. Delux building and bungalows as well are built on good standars. I was in delux building which can be recommended. Spacious room and balcony as well toilet/shower. Only thing was hot water power. Location on just the beach which is clean. Brkfast was quite good, eggs done as requested. Going to Saladan pier was quite easy, take a tuk-tuk (50bht/person) or just walk. Hotel personnell were nice and they took good care (not anymore standard in Thailand).

Great place”

Great romms, fantastic location by the beach, nice children pool, staff i excelent. No bacon at breakfast otherwise i also was good. Everything we wanted at a hotel. Stayed in the family bungalow.

Amazing owner!”

Very good. Nothing to complain. Its low season now, so not all services were available, but thats fine. Owner got us taxi to Siam Clinic, when we needed doctor. Cleaning every day. Free toiletries and two water bottles every day. Little minimarket 100m away. Good restaurants near by (100 and 250m away). Hotel had only few breakfast choices. Pool was clean.

Perfect for famlies”

Very good value for money, fine breakfast buffet, a lot of space at the two Nice pools, Nice Staff and place and quiet. We Will be back (and actually came back for another three days after onde week at long Beach). Lot of swedish families, but They were Nice. We were there at the end of the sensor, so the place was only 1/3 full. I dont know how it goes in the peak season.
