i come here everytime at surat thani. good location .can rent motobike near and the night market is a 5 minutes to walk. only the bed is little hard but you will sleep if you tired 😅

Stayed here on an overnight in Surat Thani - was a PERFECT location; could easily walk to restaurants, bars, the pier, night market, etc. Amazing view of the river from our room; breakfast was included and was delicious. We would definitely stay here again if going back through Surat Thani!

The staff are friendly although the rooms are quite old. The transportation is comfortable. It is easy to go to one of the popular markets in the province on foot.

Not worth the money. Very old rooms. Not nice. I pay too much. Should not cost over 300 Baht/night. Very very old rooms, not clean.

Desværre blev vi modtaget med personale der knapt nok kunne finde tid til at kigge op på os, ingen velkomst der. De forstod meget lidt engelsk og var generelt bare ikke særlig venlige. Morgemaden var mildest talt skuffende og uindbydende, hvilket er ærgeligt da vi havde en lang rejse foran os som vi måtte tage på uden særlig meget i maven. Hotellet fremstod meget slidt og der lå en masse byggematerialer på en af etagerne. Værelserne var helt fine og da det kun var en nat vi skulle være der kunne det lige gå, men vil ikke anbefale andre at bo på Grand Thara med mindre det kun er for en enkelt nat.

So dated and old it's actually OK”
This place is like a time warp back to the 1970's. The halls are like walking the titanic between cabins including water stains all over the ceilings. So dated I actually was kinda fond of it. Except for the cockroach infestation - those things are huge and scary. They moved me to another room immediately, which seemed cockroach free. Staff are great and made jokes about my bad spoken Thai. For the price I can only complain a little bit about the cockroach issue. No English TV, but it is Surat.

Central Location”
What looked to be one of the first major hotels in Surat Thani it could use a little bit of a makeover and reminded us of a hotel from the 70's. Rooms were large, aircon was cold, and it was in a pretty central location. We paid 800baht for a three person room which seemed to be a good value for what we received. Hotel restaurant seemed okay and the breakfast was basic Asian fare. The restaurant down the road (away from the bridge) on Donnok 8/1 is one of the best in town.

It used to be grand dame hotel in Surat Thani. At present, it is really old and in dire need for restoration.

Worth what you pay for.”
Stayed in this hotel on two separate occassions (upon arriving at Suratthani on the way to Koh Phangan, and upon arriving at Suratthani on the way back to BKK) and both times were okay. Check in was really fast, and they really try hard to keep up with guest requests despite a slight language barrier. What hurts the hotel's rating is their room facilities, which weren't as well-maintained as one would expect. Bathroom had stains and poor ventilation, air conditioning was dripping from condensation in the vents, carpets were stained, and the lights weren't working at the time of our stay both times. Despite these, the price alone and the accessibility of other establishments from this hotel makes the price you pay worth the stay.

Good stay in the middle of the town”
We stay in this hotel for a night only, we got a high floor room with river view and it was quite nice. I think there is a good balance between price and what the hotel offers. It was clean, this is an important matter but the buffet breakfast was a bit below average, I could say. All points goes to the staff which, besides friendly, were very helpful as well.

It was fine. The location is central. The breakfast is not bad, regular menu OK to good. It's a little worn and scruffy, but clean. No water boiler in the room and I wish I could make coffee in the morning. It's a big place and sometimes the shower water's not warm. It can take time to get the staff's attention, but eventually they will help, if you smile and speak some Thai. For the price it's good.

Great Breakfast”
We stayed at the hotel on our way to BKK from Koh Samui as we took the last ferry arriving at Suratthani in the evening and missed the last bus going further to BKK. The hotel is a bit run down. Carpets were old, as well as the TV and fridge. The room we had was very spacious tho. For travelers looking for an overnight accommodation in the area, this hotel is really recommended. You will be amazed by the breakfast they offer before you leave. :)

Left kho phanyan on the ferry and took a bus from the port to Sera tani its 10 minutes walk from the station or a 20 bht tut tut ride to the hotel. The hotel is near to a lot of restaurants and market food, room was clean and breakfast adequate for the price i was paying. will stay again
